Chapter 837 - Chapter 816 ( Internal Debate )

"Did you feel that?" - Belta asked while looking carefully at Dienleed because for a few seconds she felt a divine power nearby.

"Yes, this power is colossal" - nodded Dienleed with a cold expression - "I also managed to detect a faint divine aura."

Belta looked at him for a few seconds before looking back towards the entrance of the labyrinth.

Dienleed let out a sigh of relief when he saw that he managed to get out of this little snag, though inside he was cursing the parasitic god inside him.

[You can't blame me, I didn't think that creature was sealed just below this labyrinth] - Alba said seriously.

"Do you know what that thing is?" - Dienleed asked in thought.

[Yes, that aura was that of the [Dream Eater], a monster that was sealed during the war of the gods, you could say that that thing is a monster that managed to reach the level of the gods] - answered Alba while remaining silent for a few seconds - [The thing is, that monster is the personification of the [Gluttony] consumes other entities to increase its power, and according to the rumours of that time, that thing managed to find a dying god, that's how it managed to transform into such a dangerous monster].

"You say we are in danger?" - Dienleed asked with concern for his granddaughter.

[It's possible, though if we're lucky, the seal weakened it enough for the irregular to defeat it for good, though I wouldn't hold out much hope, that thing is tenacious like no other creature] - Alba continued with slight annoyance - [Tch, this is really bad luck, we were just completing every single step of our plan to perfection, and now this monster gets in the middle of the board...].

Dienleed simply kept silent as he let the parasite god rant because this was a good way to get information.

[We can only pray that the irregular comes out of this battle alive, for without him our situation will get worse and worse] - muttered Alba as she "frowned".

Dienleed quickly asked why.

[The stronger Umbra is, the easier it will be to detect my divine presence within you] - Alba answered seriously.

The two entities sharing a body, began to talk in greater detail, not noticing how Belta was looking at them with a frown, after all, it was strange for the old vampire to stare into the void without saying a single word for so long, and so often.

"I have to report this to the others when they return..." - Belta thought, though her expression changed slightly when she felt someone enter inside the barrier.

"Mom!" - Myu exclaimed as she ran towards the entrance.

Belta let out a sigh when she heard this, though now she was puzzled because she could only sense two presences.

"Mom!" - Myu exclaimed as she jumped into the arms of her mother, who seemed to be averting her gaze, as if she was trying to hide something - "Mom?"

"Sorry, I'm a little tired, Myu-chan" - Remia smiled as she stroked her daughter's hair.

Shea watched this silently because she had all the context of the situation, that's why she understood why Remia was acting so strange, though it seemed like Myu wasn't paying attention to it, or she was just ignoring it because she was happy that her mother was back safely.

"Just the two of you came back?" - Belta asked as she frowned slightly because she was starting to worry about the others.

Shea quickly went to her side and explained the situation quietly because she didn't want Myu to hear them.

Belta's expression changed drastically as she felt everything around her freeze because this was surprising. She never thought that underneath the locations of the labyrinths, there existed something like a sealed chamber where monsters as dangerous as the [Dream Eater] were locked up.

"Is this true?" - Belta asked regretfully when he heard about how Vandre had been driven mad by the monster's corruption.

"Yes, I'm sorry, Belta-san," said Shea with a sad expression on his handsome face.

Belta let out a sigh, before approaching the rabbit girl and whispering something in her ear.

Shea's expression changed slightly, though it quickly returned to normal because the trip had made her mature, to the point where she could now control herself better and hide her intentions - "I understand, I'll keep an eye on him."

Belta nodded before walking over to Myu-chan to tell her to let her mother rest because she has to be exhausted.

Myu gave her an annoyed look before nodding with a smile because she knew this was for her mother's sake.

"Thank you" - Remia said as she let out a sigh.

"I may not have my skills, but even I can sense that you were very tense when you saw your daughter, so it's obvious that something happened inside the labyrinth" - Belta said while shaking her head - "Would you like to talk it over with me?"

"Maybe later, right now I need some rest so I can sort out my feelings, I can't keep acting so tense in front of my baby" - answered Remia while giving her a small smile - "If you need me, I'll be in my room"

"Ok" - nodded the two girls as they watched the light blue haired woman leave her room.

"Sorry for the interruption, but I would like to know what happened to my niece," said Dienleed as he walked over to where Shea was talking to Belta. He was visibly worried about Yue, or at least that was what was showing on his face, however, Shea and Belta were not very sure at the moment.

"She's still in the labyrinth," Shea replied after some thought. She might not be as smart as Tio or Yue, but that didn't mean she was stupid. She had decided that this was the best way she could see if she could find a change in reaction in the old vampire, with this she would at least confirm that he was acting out of character - "A monster sealed in the background."

"!" - Dienleed's eyes widened in surprise at this news as he felt his breathing stop for a few seconds - "Tell me my niece is alright?"

Shea frowned slightly before nodding - "Of course, Yue-san and the others are strong, they will be victorious."

"Don't you feel concern for them?" - Dienleed asked with a frown.

"Of course I'm worried about them, but that doesn't mean I'm not confident that they will be victorious" - Shea replied as she folded her arms - "I've travelled with them long enough to know how strong they are."

Dienleed was silent for a few seconds before letting out a sigh - "I'm sorry, I'm just worried about Aletia..."

"I understand, you don't have to apologise, Dienleed-san," Yue replied as she shook her head and walked out of the room.

Belta gave Shea a glance before running after her because she still had many questions to ask her, though she did this after apologizing to the old vampire.

Dienleed was left alone in the room, in deep silence as he spoke to the god that was parasitizing his body - "What do you think?"

[I feel it's possible we may have screwed up...] - Alva answered seriously.

"Screwed up?" - Dienleed repeated with a frown - "I didn't say anything weird."

[I know, but we've been talking a lot, and it shows in your face staring into the void] - Alva replied as he "frowned" - [They're starting to doubt us, and it's not like we're in a good position...].

"I think this is a good time to reveal the truth about our situation, as well as our intentions" - said Dienleed seriously - "I know my niece will understand."

[You're putting too much trust in the girl you left locked up for all these centuries] - Alva replied with disdain, though he quickly returned to normal - [Though you have a point, the longer we hide the truth, the more dangerous it will be for us, and who knows, maybe in the future they won't even try to listen to us...]

"I guess we came to a consensus" - Dienleed said with a small smile adorning his lips.

[It's our best option, though I'd prefer we do it when your niece is present, so we can at least negotiate with her using the nostalgia factor] - Alva replied seriously - [Without it, we're likely to be killed when we reveal the truth, and with our current state, it's impossible for us to do anything to defend ourselves].

"I agree" - muttered Dienleed as he nodded - "We will when they return."

[If they come back] - muttered Alva as he let out a sigh because if he was honest, he didn't have much hope with the current situation the irregular's group was in. He only wished for one thing, that they would come back quickly and escape from here, so at least they could continue with the plan. As for the rest of the humans? The former demon god didn't care in the slightest, they could become extinct and nothing would change.

"I recommend you trust my niece, Alva," Dienleed said as he narrowed his eyes, "I am one of the few who know about the true extent of her abilities."

[If you say so...] - murmured Alva, although it was clear from his tone of voice that he was not very convinced.
