Chapter 7 - Chapter 7 Kill It or Escape

The outbreak of battle always happened unexpectedly fast. Before Zhou Kai and Wang Zheng could react, Gu Fangyi had already raised his hand and fired a shot.

BANG! The deformed creature's head instantly burst into a cloud of blood mist. Plasma and shattered bones slid down its crocodile-like face. The power unleashed by this compact revolver was simply astonishing.

With the assistance of Hawk Eye, Gu Fangyi had near-perfect accuracy in shooting. Blowing off heads was a breeze for him.

Despite blowing its head off, Gu Fangyi felt no joy because the damage was too low.

The deformed creature touched the blood clump on its head. It seemed confused about having a hole blown through its head, as if the shot had actually awakened it.

It covered its wound and murmured softly, "Young humans, are you students entering the facility? Why did you shoot me?"

The voice of the deformed creature was identical to the one that claimed to be a Hunter team member earlier. There was no doubt that it had been fishing for them.

Yet, the tone of confusion suggested it was completely unaware of having just killed Liu Ting.

The deformed creature that just mutated mainly had a crocodile and human brain. The crocodile part was blown apart by your classmate, and the human consciousness took over the higher functions again, so it regained some clarity for a moment.

"It must be an employee here. This type of monster has..."

Absolutely impossible. So, kill it or run away.

Lu Luo hadn't finished speaking when the Observer Sequence interrupted him. This prompt further solidified Lu Luo's resolve to fight.

"An Exotic Species will absolutely not turn back into a human. Get ready to make your move."

"I know."

Those conversing were Lu Luo and Gu Fangyi. Gu Fangyi had been the main force throughout their battles, so he was somewhat unaccustomed to Lu Luo speaking to him with such a commanding tone.

At this moment, everyone else could only make up the numbers. Chu Qi might not have been merely making up numbers, but she was deliberately slacking off—the most detestable kind of person. In a past life, such people were usually called actors.

The deformed creature's confused gaze started to turn cruel, its human face looking towards Gu Fangyi.

"If I can't figure it out, then I might as well eat everyone. I remember my mother once told me, 'You are what you eat!'"

The deformed creature suddenly charged at Gu Fangyi. Gu Fangyi remained calm, simultaneously locking onto the creature and issuing a command.

"Wang Zheng, get ready to knock on the table."

"Ah? Oh, okay!" Wang Zheng's response wasn't very slow. Upon hearing Gu Fangyi's command, he immediately began knocking on the table with the javelin made from an iron rod.

CLANG! CLANG! CLANG! The sound attracted the deformed creature, its gaze shifting from Gu Fangyi to Wang Zheng. This brief pause and hesitation allowed Lu Luo, Gu Fangyi, and Chu Qi to simultaneously spot an opportunity.

However, Chu Qi chose to restrain her desire to act and turned her attention to Lu Luo and Gu Fangyi instead.

Gu Fangyi unsheathed his blade and advanced. The Hawk Eye Sequence granted him more than just aiming; it also gave him the keen ability to detect an opponent's movements and spot flaws.

Without a suitable close-combat weapon, Lu Luo gripped the Iron Javelin tightly, having already wound the remaining steel wire around its tail.

"Connect," he commanded.

7 points of energy consumed for one change: Steel wire connected to the Iron Javelin.

Ready to go all out? A brave choice. I could tell from the moment you killed the mechanical shark in your normal human state, my lord Lu Luo, you have the stature of a great emperor…

His teammates were quite strong, and it was clear that he could not afford to hold back at this time. If his teammates died too quickly, he himself would be in great danger.

Conversely, if they managed to kill the Exotic Species in front of them and he was able to secure its corpse, his gains would be unexpectedly huge.

Therefore, both emotionally and logically, Lu Luo had to give it his all at this time.

WHOOSH! He threw the javelin with all his might. Before the Exotic Species could reach Gu Fangyi, the javelin pierced its deer leg.

Lu Luo wanted to do something for Gu Fangyi's upcoming melee. If he could damage the Exotic Species' thigh and impair its mobility, it would benefit the whole battle situation.

But at that moment, he clearly underestimated the Exotic Species' strength. The steel wire in his hand tensed, and he was pulled along like a speeding motorcycle, flying forward.

First, he crashed into an iron table and then was dragged for a distance before finally stopping against a pillar.

The wounds from the collision and friction were burning painfully, but at that moment Lu Luo had no time to care about his own injuries. He quickly released the steel wire and rolled on the ground a few times to cushion the impact.

The Exotic Species continued to pull but found the wire much heavier than before. Lu Luo had tied the other end of the steel wire to the leg of the iron table he had just crashed into.

The iron table was not particularly large; the Exotic Species could definitely pull it, but it would absolutely affect its movement. That was enough.

By then, Gu Fangyi had taken advantage of the opportunity Lu Luo had created and chopped at the Exotic Species' neck. However, the sound made by the strike was as muffled as if it had hit dry dirt.

Gu Fangyi swung another strike towards the Exotic Species' chest. If the previous blow could be described as a chop, this one was merely a scratch, inflicting no damage.

BANG! The Exotic Species swept a punch at Gu Fangyi's waist. The tremendous force distorted the young man's face, and his body flew like a thrown sandbag, crashing heavily against the wall.

That hit would cost him at least half his life, and Lu Luo, watching from the side, felt his teeth ache in sympathy.

Originally, I thought you had it bad, but it turns out the young man has it much worse! In situations like this, it's rare for big brothers to end up with a good outcome.

At this point, Chu Qi could no longer afford to slack off. She threw out several homemade blades to attract the Exotic Species' attention, buying time for Gu Fangyi to recover.

Zhou Kai and Wang Zheng also charged over, but they were swept away by the Exotic Species as soon as they got close.

Lu Luo did not rush forward immediately; he carefully observed the Exotic Species' movements. The creature's brain wasn't functioning well—the wire and javelin were now completely entangled around its legs.

The more it moved and struggled, the greater the entanglement affected it. Based on this situation, Lu Luo made a very risky battle plan in his mind.

"Hit its other leg."

"This guy, always giving orders."

Gu Fangyi, clutching his broken ribs, complained. Although he didn't like the way Lu Luo spoke, he still aimed carefully and fired again.

BANG! Dark Energy coated the bullet, and the powerful impact burst a spray of blood from the Exotic Species' other leg.

Although the two of them had never interacted before, their cooperation in battle was as if it had been rehearsed in advance. From the brief contact, they understood that to win against the Exotic Species, they could only rely on each other.

When strong individuals team up, they can effectively support each other. Lu Luo was fairly satisfied with Gu Fangyi's performance, and Gu Fangyi shared a similar sentiment.
