Chapter 534 - [#ProjectMirAIs_Protest] I reject this cruel fate! [Project MirAIs EN New Unit Debut PV]

The scene opened to an elaborate ball. Faceless silhouettes of nobles and noblewomen walked around in fancy gowns and attires.

The camera panned around, showing glittering chandeliers, fancy food platters, and an orchestra playing soft classical music.

As it did, for a few frames, a woman with sky blue hair and a pink gown appeared in the reflections, her face hidden by glare.

But then a wine glass crashed, shifting the camera back to the main hall.

The orchestra stopped and the people in the hall gasped, pointing off into the distance.

As the camera zoomed in, two women were standing across from each other.

One was faceless with blonde hair, wearing a pink dress now red stained with wine. Clutching at her neck, a faceless man wearing a white tuxedo held her, pointing at the other woman.

As for the other woman...

She was a beautiful young woman in a lacy white dress with silver hair trailing in curls to her waist. Her violet eyes were wide in shock and despair as she clutched at her neck too, coughing and reaching out with her trembling left hand.

But the man in the tuxedo smacked it away, causing the silver-haired beauty to collapse onto the ground over her spilled wine glass, staining her white dress a dark purple as the puddle pooled like blood.

As it did, the screen turned grainy and words popped up.

"Lady Zen of House D'Rion, the villainess noblewoman who failed to poison her rival and killed herself by accident on her fiance's coronation ball."

The static grew, filling the screen.

For another few frames, a flash of light blue appeared on the screen before the scene changed.

A pristine marble hallway, like the temple to a goddess.

There, footsteps echoed as the camera slowly panned to a priestess sprinting down the hallway. Her hood had fallen back, revealing blood-red hair and golden eyes wide with panic.

Meanwhile, a squad of templar knights in plate mail chased after her, holding golden chains, a chalice, and a thorned choker with spikes on the inside, clearly fatal if worn.

As the priestess ran, she passed statues of Saintesses. All wrapped in golden chains and clutching the chalice, the thorned choker worn around their necks as a deceptively peaceful smile adorned their faces.

But the truth was clear as can be: the Saintesses were victims. Sacrifices.

As the priestess burst out the main temple doors, she stopped for a bit at the sight of a thunderstorm. But she grit her teeth and sprinted forward, her boots stepping onto a puddle.

The moment the boots hit the puddle surface, time slowed down.

For a few frames again, a flash of blue appeared. This time, clear enough to be seen as hair.

But then it faded as static filled the screen. And shortly after, more words appeared.

"Priestess Niko Manser, the villainess heretic who fled her saintess coronation and turned to black magic."

The static cleared again, panning around to reveal a young child stepping up to a holy sword. The light shone, covering his face just enough to obscure it.

But as the child pulled the sword, the light coalesced into a pair of delicate hands, gently holding his face as a mother would their child.

The camera panned again, revealing the young child- No, hero engaged in battles against monsters while wielding the holy sword.

Flashes of sky-blue hair flickered just out of frame each time as the hero fought, a hand holding him with soft encouragement and giving him strength.

The camera panned again, revealing the hero alongside a faceless princess as they fought against a terrifying being of pure darkness.

But despite everything, they won, cleaving the darkness with the holy sword.

After they did, the camera panned, revealing the back of a woman with sky-blue hair stepping forward. Wearing a lacy white dress that radiated a soft golden light, she was clearly the goddess who had blessed the hero on the entire journey.

But the moment she stepped forward, so did the hero.

A splash of blood covering the screen and the bottom of the hero's face, twisted in a sneer.

Static filled the screen again, along with more words.

"[______], the villainess goddess who had to be killed in order for peace to truly last after the Demon Lord was slain."

The screen cracked before shattering, revealing three floating shards.

The first hovered in the air, showing Lady D'Rion laying on the ground, her fingers desperately scrabbling against the tiled floor, as if furiously trying to cling to life.

And beneath it, a dialogue appeared, unvoiced.

Lady Zen of House D'Rion: "This cruel fate, these lies, this accusation... I won't let it stand...! I reject it...! All of it...!"

The scene froze as the shard moved, swapping places with another.

In this shard, Priestess Niko Manser laid on the ground, her priestess robes covered in mud. Her heart was ripped out and her life was fading away as blood pooled beneath her under the rain.

In the distance, the templars were walking away, clearly finished with the 'heretic.'

Even so, she held her hand out to them. And as she did, words appeared under her shard.

Priestess Niko Manser: "After all I did for them, after I gave even my heart... am I going to be left with just this? Death?"

The scene froze again. Then, her shard moved, shifting with the last shard.

Unlike the others, the shard was blank. No, not blank. It was reflecting a black and starry void.

But the shard slowly floated up. And as it did, it was revealed to be the shard of a mirror, reflecting a single sky-blue eye with a pink star pupil.

After that, a pair of delicate hands reached out to slowly pull the shards close together.

And beneath the three shards, an unspoken dialogue appeared.

______: "I lost everything. But... I think I have enough to change this. No, I WILL change this."

The shards fused together with a soft blue light that spread into the shape of a hand mirror.

The delicate hands grabbed the mirror and held it up.

But instead of a face, it reflected the ballroom where Lady Zen had fallen, frozen in time.

Beneath that, another unspoken dialogue line appeared, written in the golden text of Project MirAIs.

______: "I don't know who can see me. I don't know if my voice is reaching you. But please... help me save them."

Static filled the screen again before resolving into Lady Zen's face, twisted in regret and despair, her violet eyes slowly growing blank as her life faded.

Lady Zen of House D'Rion: "Anyone, anything. If a god truly exists and can hear my plea... I'll give everything. I'm not a villainess, but if the world wishes for me to die as one...!"

Static filled the screen again before turning into Priestess Niko Manser's face, her golden eyes hollow with broken trust and betrayal.

Priestess Niko Manser: "If there is another life... if there is a kinder deity than the cruel bastards who took my everything just to throw me away... I'll give my soul. My life. My eternity. I'm not a heretic. I'm not a villain. But if they plan to just throw me away like this...!"

Static filled the screen once more, turning it white.

And then the delicate hands held up the mirror, revealing a woman in a pink dress with a soft light around her. But her face was hidden with the mirror. Her sky blue hair could be seen around it, but where her face was, the mirror reflected the Earth instead, shining in the infinite void of space.

Then, beneath it, a classic JRPG text box appeared.

===

> *: I lost my name. I lost my powers. I can reach them, but that is all I can do. But, if I have your help... maybe we can make a difference.

> *: Please, lend me your strength...

===

After that, the screen went blank, like someone turned off the monitor.

And then text appeared on the screen, typed out like in a terminal.
