Grabbing his suit jacket, Skyler Jones walked out of his office.
Returning home, encountering Marilyn Quinn sleeping on the sofa with a pillow in her arms, Skyler put down his suit jacket, crouched down, and softly called, "Marie..."
Marilyn, upon hearing her father's call, opened her sleepy eyes and drowsily mumbled, "Daddy..."
Skyler brushed away the bangs from his daughter's forehead, and gently said, "Why are you sleeping on the sofa?"
"I wanted to wait for you to come back."
"I'm sorry, Daddy came back so late and made my precious daughter feel lonely." Skyler tenderly ruffled Marilyn's little head.
Marilyn reached out to hug her father's neck, "Daddy has to work, right? Marie won't blame Daddy."
Skyler couldn't help but place a gentle kiss on his daughter's forehead.
