Skyler Jones took out his phone, glanced at the number displayed, then pressed the answer button, "Honey."
Christine Quinn on the other end was momentarily stunned by Skyler's intimate greeting, only responding after a few seconds, "Where are you?"
"At a gathering."
"Mom said today is your birthday, and she wants you to come home early so we can have dinner together as a family."
