"Andrew Geoffrey!!" Howard Geoffrey called his son's name in frustration, trying to display fatherly authority. But the child cried even harder, so Howard softened his tone, gently coaxing like Rebecca Quentin usually did with Andrew, "Baby, be good, don't cry, don't cry..."
Andrew continued to show no face to his father.
In desperation, Howard suddenly remembered Rebecca Quentin reaching for the child's diaper earlier. He gently laid the child on the sofa and carefully opened the diaper.
Sure enough, the child had peed, and the wet diaper against the child's delicate skin made him very uncomfortable. The key issue was that the child's pants seemed to be wet too.
No wonder this little rascal cried...
Having found the reason, Howard removed the diaper.
As soon as the diaper was removed, the child really stopped crying. He looked innocently at his father with clear, bright eyes.
