Alice sulkily blurted out, "Yeah, because you never came to find me."
Howard's expression turned somber.
Alice seemed oblivious to the change in Howard's mood and explained coquettishly, "Oh, I didn't mean it like that. You know my brother works at the hospital. I went to see him yesterday, and while I was there, I had a gynecological check-up. Who knew the news would explode today, claiming I'm two months pregnant? I'm also surprised where this news came from."
There was a sly glint in Howard's eyes, but the corners of his mouth lifted slightly as he calmly said, "How have you been these days?"
On the other end, Alice was aggrieved, "Not good, not good at all."
"What happened?"
"It's daddy's fault. He won't let me come to you, and you won't come to explain to him." Alice said, feeling very wronged.
Howard frowned, "Do you think we still have a chance?"
"Why not? I'm not going to marry anyone but you in this lifetime."
"You don't mind about Rebecca and me?"
