More than two hours later, the car stopped outside Hirota's house. Aizen, Conan and Ai Haibara walked into Hirota's house.
"Excuse me!"
Aizen politely greeted Masami Hirota's wife, Toshiko Hirota.
Toshiko Hirota smiled and said, "You must be Mr. Aizen. I've heard about you from my husband. Please come in."
"Thank you."
Aizen and the other two changed into slippers at the entrance and followed Toshiko Hirota.
As they walked, Toshiko Hirota said, "It just so happened that several groups of my teacher's students came to see him today. They just left not long ago. My teacher is in the study now."
As they were talking, the three of them arrived outside the study, and Toshiko Hirota knocked on the door.
"Old man! Old man!"
There was no response. Toshiko Hirota turned the doorknob and said puzzledly, "It's strange. I don't know what he is doing in there. He actually locked the door. Maybe he is drunk and didn't even respond."
Conan looked up and saw that the window on the door was not very high. He immediately jumped up, grabbed the door frame with his hands, and looked inside. He saw that the study was in chaos. An old man was pinned to the ground by a bookshelf. There was a pool of blood where his head was. It was feared that he was in great danger.
Conan jumped down and asked, "Is there a spare key to this study?"
Although Toshiko Hirota didn't understand what was going on, she still said, "We don't have a spare key to the study."
Aizen said, "Conan, did something happen in there?"
Conan said, "Professor Hirota may have been killed. I saw him lying on the ground with a lot of blood flowing from his head."
"How is that possible?"
Toshiko Hirota exclaimed, covering her mouth and shaking her head, not daring or willing to believe this result.
Upon hearing this, Aizen said, "Get out of the way, I'll kick the door open."
Then, Aizen turned to Toshiko Hirota and said, "Mrs. Hirota, what do you think?"
"Please."
Toshiko Hirota nodded heavily. Although she didn't want to believe that her husband was in trouble, it was a serious matter after all. If he was really okay, at most a door would be damaged. She was still aware of the severity of the matter.
After Toshiko Hirota, Conan, and Haibara Ai had briefly moved aside, Aizen took a step back and kicked at the doorknob.
Bang!
The door flew open, revealing the scene inside.
"Husband!"
Toshiko Hirota cried out, beginning to run back inside.
"Mrs. Hirota!"
Aizen grabbed her arm and said, "It's still unclear whether Professor Hirota's death was accidental or homicide. Please don't disturb the scene."
Conan, approaching the body, felt for his pulse and said, "Takata, there's no pulse. Call the police."
Aizen looked at Toshiko Hirota and said, "Mrs. Hirota, please call the police."
"I understand!"
Toshiko Hirota covered her mouth, sobbing softly as she turned and walked away.
Conan looked at Huibara Ai who was standing next to him and said, "Could this be done by that organization?""It's not the organization's doing. If it was, the scene wouldn't be like this." Aizen said,
"If that organization really wanted to kill someone, they would have had plenty of opportunities when Professor Hirota left his residence and went outside. There was no need to sneak in here to kill him, which would easily expose the killer."
Conan guessed, "Maybe the organization's purpose is the same as ours, and it's for the disk."
Aizen looked at the scene and said, "From the scene, it looks like Professor Hirota was about to take something from the bookshelf, and then the bookshelf collapsed, and the decorations fell to the ground. Professor Hirota's head hit the decorations, causing his death."
Huihara Ai said, "Likely? Isn't that the case?"
Conan walked to the side of the phone covered by a book and said, "It seems that this phone should have fallen down with the bookshelf, but the problem is that the microphone of the phone didn't fall out. Covering it with a book is just an attempt to cover up the truth. This must have been done on purpose."
Aizen reminded him, "Conan, you'd better not move, okay?"
"Don't worry, I won't move before the police arrive."
Conan said with a smile. It's not like he can't contact the police, so how could he possibly move the scene?
Haibara Ai looked at the two of them and said, "... In that case, this was a homicide, not an accident?"
Aizen nodded, turned and walked to the door, looking at the window above, and said, "From what we can see so far, this is the case. Moreover, the doors and windows here are locked from the inside. It looks like a murder in a closed room."
"I agree with Aizen's point of view."
Conan agreed, and then said, "Aizen, why are you so active today? I've never seen you like this before."
Upon hearing this, Aizen turned and looked at Haibara Ai and said, "Of course I have to show off and let Ai know what I'm capable of."
Haibara Ai said, "No matter how strong my reasoning ability is, it's useless when facing the organization."
"Huh!"
Aizen looked at Conan and said, "If that's the case, Conan is of no use at all."
Conan couldn't help but curl his lips at this. He didn't agree with Haibara Ai's statement. He regarded reasoning as his second life, but he was just too lazy to refute Haibara Ai.
A moment later, Toshiko Hirota came back and stood at the door.
Ten minutes later, the police arrived, led by Yokomizo Sango, whom Aizen had met several times.
"You are... Mr. Aizen, Mr. Mouri's disciple, right?"
Yokomizo Sango recognized Aizen the moment he saw him. Mouri Kogoro was his idol, so he naturally had an impression of Aizen, who was nominally Kogoro's disciple.
"Hello, Officer Yokomizo, we meet again."
Aizen smiled slightly and extended his hand to shake hands with Yokomizo Sango.
After Yokomizo Sango let the forensic doctor and forensic personnel do their work, he asked Aizen what was going on.
Aizen did not hide anything and told him everything that had happened since his arrival, along with his reasoning and speculation.
