Clement Drew stared in shock at Audrey; her complexion was much better than it had been in recent days, and she wasn't feverish. The words she had just spoken didn't seem to be the ramblings of someone in a fever.
Feeling Clement Drew's gaze upon her, Audrey turned and smiled at him.
The smile finally snapped Clement Drew out of his daze; he strode to Audrey's side, placed his hands on the bed, and asked, "You were joking just now, right? You were just upset about getting hurt instead of Mona and wanted to annoy her, right?"
Audrey smiled again, turned her head, and looked at the sky outside the window. It was snowing again—a heavy snow—and this country seemed to have only winter.
"Audrey!" Clement Drew shouted in sudden anger, grabbing her and turning her body, asking, "Tell me, what you said just now isn't true."
