On the plane back to Aethelgard, Victor Morgan received a report from his men that Adrian Morgan had already returned to the city.
His expression grew icier, but it was more of a troubled look.
'It was for his own good that I didn't tell him the truth,' he thought, 'but I've always felt guilty about what happened back then. Guilty toward my older brother, and even more so toward my nephew.'
For all these years, he had never stopped trying to get news of him. But Victor knew that since Adrian didn't want to return to Aethelgard on his own, he must have had his reasons.
'And I'm probably the main reason for that. That's why I've been unwilling to force him.'
"What's wrong? Did something happen?"
Vera Warner, sitting beside Victor Morgan, asked comfortingly. She could tell he was in a bad mood.
"It's nothing. Our nephew is back. We'll probably be able to see him when we get back to Aethelgard."
