The happy days were fleeting. The New Year holiday quickly passed, and Vera Warner and Victor Morgan began preparing for their trip to Aethelgard.
"Victor, have you really thought this through? Are you sure you want to go to Aethelgard with me?"
"The Morgan Group headquarters in the Capital is the center of your operations. If you're gone for so long, won't there be problems?"
Vera was worried. Deep down, she wanted Victor to go with her—it would be a source of security, after all—but she didn't want to put him in a difficult position.
Victor Morgan, who was in the middle of packing, turned and gave her a doting look.
"It's fine. I've already given all the necessary instructions. The Morgan Group is on the right track now, so it'll be okay if I'm gone for a while."
While they were packing, Mr. and Mrs. Morgan arrived. They came to see the couple off and to take Luke and Zola back to the Morgan family home.
