It wasn't that Vera Warner and Victor Morgan didn't want to come back. The truth was, things in Aethelgard were so busy that they simply couldn't get away.
The difficulties and obstacles in Aethelgard far exceeded their imagination. Everything had reached a critical point, so how could they possibly turn back and return to the Capital now?
If they did, all their previous efforts would have been for nothing.
"Sweethearts, don't be so anxious. Aren't you having a good time here with Grandma and Grandpa? Mommy and Daddy will be back very soon."
"That's right! As soon as you're on break, you get to go for walks and have meals with your great-grandpa. How about this? Don't be too sad. Great-grandpa will take you to the amusement park this weekend, okay?"
"I'll call your mommy and daddy and tell them to come back sooner. And when they do, they'll bring you both some snacks and toys. I promise it'll make you happy."
