"You were too reckless, Derek."
The woman with the youthful appearance crossed her arms and spoke coldly.
"I just wanted to test her companion's mettle."
The old man chuckled gleefully.
"If Messiah found out, she would surely develop a rift with us."
"It doesn't matter, Sherry." The old man took off the hood of his cloak, revealing the rotting and withered face characteristic of a Corpse Witch, "I didn't expose my true face."
His originally hunched back suddenly cracked straight, revealing a cold and imposing posture, as he silently looked at Sherry.
"So, what did your testing reveal?" Sherry sighed. It was pointless to blame him now that it was done.
"The woman isn't up to par," Derek smirked coldly, "Her sense of caution and ability to adapt are too poor. But that man, he's impressive; I don't even know how he caught on to the flaw I exposed."
