Chapter 603 - Empirica 3

She was able to use that and other skills to figure out how most things worked, including how the guards had moved around and each of their usual rotations, allowing her to get past them with far less difficulty.

Her ninja, assassin and many other skills that had been combined only helped further suppress the sounds she made from each small movement and even suppress her breathing.

It was especially useful when it came to the foot movements that would be linked to her secondary profession, which was her leg martial arts.

She gained a much greater mastery over most things that were linked to her leg martial arts, including things like movement techniques, so it was very easy to suppress the movements of each of her steps.

Everything combined allowed her to reach the main part of the island very quickly, where a large palace with a cathedral design existed.

Her natural abilities allowed her to quickly slip further inside past the tall walls and other obstructions that blocked her path.

She covered her tracks well and made her way deeper until she finally picked up on the skills of those further inside.

Her system was able to pick up on the new skills within her range, allowing her to pick up on what type of person was ruling over the people.

They had a vast amount of skills just from a single person, but the most important parts that caught her attention were how they had gained the highest possible mastery for the Sacred Training unique skill, and they had an extra skill called Fire Bending that stood out.

After gaining the maxed-out version of the Sacred Training skill, she purchased the Fire Bending skill with what remained of her points that were left over.

It was not that much of a priority, but it would help with her skills that were related to fire techniques.

It would help her to improve her mastery in that area and to come up with new techniques to suit her more, but the Sacred Training seemed to benefit her in many more ways.

While she could use ways to create fire and utilise it in combat, it was not her main power that she could make use of.

It was still Electro that would often become the main power that she would be able to use, as her natural ability was linked to her kangaroo Sulong race.

It was not like she possessed a natural fire ability, so she would be limited by how much control she would have over that element.

She could only rely on the techniques that would let her produce fire and would let her use it in various ways to aid her in combat, just as she would be able to apply that knowledge to develop techniques to go up against the fire element.

Among those techniques would be how it would be possible to disperse or cut through flames or an explosion that would be aimed at her or would need to be dealt with to reduce the damage it could cause.

The senses of Alyssia, along with her understanding of the overall structure of the area, had improved the longer that she moved around.

It was not until later that she realised something was a little off about one part of the area and how there had been another life form that possessed skills, but she could not come across them, no matter where she looked.

There was a certain distance that her system would let her pick up on their skills, so she searched within those areas that she could still pick up on them, but she never once found them.

That still applied when she searched on other floors, and she had reached the very top floor.

It seemed more like the life form was further away from her after going higher, rather than her getting closer, so an idea came to mind. 'There must be somewhere further underground.

I have not found anything that would stand out too much, so it must be a hidden part of the design in here that perhaps few would know about or would have access to. I should go back to the lowest floor and look into it some more.'

She was curious about what could be hidden and why there had been someone or something hidden so secretly.

A lot of her job had been done since she had successfully entered Empirica Island and had been able to gather more than enough information from just observing things and collecting the skills she had gained from them with her current mastery over them.

There was not much keeping her there, but it felt like a shame to just go in and out like that without looking further and seeing more with her own two eyes.

She soon found the location where someone could gain access to a secret room or entrance to somewhere else, but the way to access it seemed to be quite complicated.

It could be broken through by force if she tried to do so, but perhaps there would be mechanisms in place that may have been prepared for all kinds of occasions.

It was not worth taking the risk, so she continued to wander around through the night.

Movement started to come from the main room where the strongest presence existed, and Alyssia had been staying away from.

It started moving and gradually got closer to that location as a woman with a youthful appearance was walking, holding a lit lantern with a candle in it.

She had the same features that Alyssia had seen from all of the natives from Empirica Island, as she had the very same tanned skin, blonde hair and red eyes.

Her blonde hair was long and wavy, while a part of her hair was over one of her eyes.

She was dressed in luxurious robes that seemed to be made using high-grade materials.

They were mostly white with gold patterns and had gold sleeve ends and a gold high collar.

Her presence was quite overbearing in many ways, but it did not seem to affect Alyssia, who had already hidden away and was watching everything carefully from a safe distance.

Her instinct to do battle from her usual battle junkie days had been ignited once more, but she suppressed herself.

She could not give away her presence in the present situation, as it would only bring her unwanted troubles.

The woman seemed vigilant as she searched her surroundings carefully, as if she was used to doing so.

It was like she did not wish for others to know about what she was doing, even if it was those who were likely to be kept within her walls and were closest to her.

It showed how she had some secrets that she wished to keep to herself, and that she had been living like that for a long time.

Her secret was very important to her, as if she was keeping it solely to herself, or she wanted to keep it protected to the best of her capabilities.

Alyssia did not know the story behind it all, but she was becoming more curious.

She continued to watch as it was unlocked, and she observed the method that was used to do so, which gave her a feeling of satisfaction.

She did not know what was happening inside or below once the entrance closed behind the woman, but it was possible that she would find out.

The secret entrance opened once again, and the woman stepped outside, but she looked a little more emotional than before.

She stormed off into the distance, muttering to herself as she disappeared.
