Chapter 133 - Chapter 124: Semi-finals and Finals

Chapter 124: Semi-finals to Finals

Author: Geraint

After Roboco won against Tenya, Ichika will be facing Momo in the next match. Meeting at the ring, Momo was very cautious of him. The match began with the two of them staring at each other for a minute, both waiting to see who would attack first.

Momo's face turned red as she looked away.

"Momo, you can attack first," Ichika spoke, trying to break the awkward atmosphere.

"I know it's impossible for me to win this match against you. I'm just trying not to get embarrassed when I lose to you."

Ichika scratched the back of his head, trying to figure out something.

Midnight, standing at the sideline, became annoyed by the romantic atmosphere she sensed between them.

"Damn it! Just start the fight already! Grrrrrr!"

Ichika finally thought of something and opened a wormhole. He pulled out two lightsabers.

"How about we settle this match with the duel we played together when we were kids?"

"Huh?"

Ichika passed one lightsaber to Momo, and she lit it up, taking a sword stance.

"This brings back memories. Hehehe... Even though you created this thing, I'm using it better than you."

"Hey! You've been practicing weapon arts for a long time! Of course, I'm at a disadvantage!"

Ichika lit up his lightsaber, and the two of them crossed swords in the middle of the ring, dodging and thrusting. Both of them were having fun fighting.

When Momo found an opening in Ichika's attack, she was about to point her lightsaber at his neck when her sword turned off by itself.

"Eh?"

Ichika's sword was now pointed close to her neck instead, with a smug smile on his face.

"Momo, you still have a lot to learn. Do you think I will fight a losing battle?"

"Winner! Yagi Ichika!" Midnight declared.

Ichika sighed and turned off his sword. Momo turned red and pouted.

"Ichika!"

She grabbed him by the collar and shook him.

"You tricked me! You're so unfair!"

"Hahaha!"

After Ichika and Momo left the ring, the next match began between Eijiro and Katsuki. The two of them battled to determine who would take the final spot in the top four.

Eijiro managed to give Katsuki more trouble than Ochaco did. However, after Katsuki injured Eijiro with an Explosion, Katsuki realized Eijiro's Quirk weakness—his Hardening weakens with consecutive strikes. Katsuki then assaulted Eijiro with a continuous barrage of Explosions, greatly wounding him and knocking him out, making Katsuki the winner.

The Top Four of the battle tournament event are Shoto, Roboco, Ichika, and now Katsuki.

The first match of the semi-finals is Shoto versus Roboco. The match began with Shoto launching an ice attack at Roboco, but Roboco dodged it by jumping into the air with boosters beneath her feet and palms.

Roboco shot beams from both palms, and Shoto quickly created a wall of ice to cover himself, but it was shattered easily.

"Tch!"

Shoto was about to create another ice wall when he saw several small missiles launching from Roboco's back.

"Eh?"

Roboco aimed at Shoto, pointing all of her weapons at him.

"Launching, Jericho Missile—"

"STOP! STOP! STOP!" Midnight interrupted.

"Roboco, you're disqualified from using unregistered weapons for this event! Todoroki Shoto will be declared the winner!"

Roboco retracted all of her weapons and descended to the ring.

I lost...

She left the ring with a sad expression and met Ichika, who was waiting at the entrance.

Sorry, Father...

She jumped and hugged him.

"It's okay. You already did well. It's purely my fault for installing too dangerous weapons on you. I'll take them off once everything is finished and turn you into a normal girl."

Mm... Roboco nodded.

The second match of the third round began: Ichika versus Katsuki. Unlike his previous matches, Katsuki was at a major disadvantage because he had never won against Ichika in a battle. He always ends up losing, becoming a stool for Ichika.

"Ichika!"

Ichika was always confident in his victory against Katsuki, but something big was coming, and he was sweating profusely.

"Shit! Why now?! My daughter squished my stomach too hard with her hug!" he mumbled.

His stomach hurt so bad that he had to rush to the restroom quickly.

When the match started, Katsuki rushed toward Ichika, trying to predict his next move and counter it. Ichika smiled conceitedly, which surprised Katsuki. He immediately stopped and moved away from him.

"Huh?"

Ichika turned around, unable to endure it, and ran down from the ring, making him out of bounds and losing the match.

"Sorry, I have to take a shit. Let's settle this next time, Kacchan!"

Everyone in the audience was speechless as Midnight declared Katsuki the winner.

"Winner... Bakugou Katsuki..."

This pissed off Katsuki, who couldn't accept his victory and went nuts in the ring.

"DAMN YOU, ICHIKA!!!"

Shoto waited in the waiting room for his final match to begin. He thought about Izuku's words: that his powers are his and only his. Shoto admitted that he didn't think that way before fighting Izuku. The door slammed open, revealing Katsuki, who barged into the wrong room. Shoto didn't pay attention to Katsuki, much to Katsuki's annoyance. Katsuki complained about Shoto's attitude toward a fellow finalist.

Shoto continued to ignore him until Katsuki used a small Explosion on the table to get his attention. Shoto said to Katsuki that Izuku is the type of person compelled to drag out people's problems and help them. Shoto asked Katsuki, as Izuku's childhood friend, if Izuku had always been the type to help people with their problems.

Katsuki remembered how Izuku tried to help him in their childhood. Furious, Katsuki angrily kicked the table over, telling Shoto that he didn't care about Izuku and didn't care about Shoto's problems or feelings. Before he left, Katsuki told Shoto to give everything he had and that he would make Izuku bow before him when he reached the top.

The final match of the tournament event between Katsuki and Shoto began. Shoto made his move first and attacked Katsuki with a huge pillar of ice, trying to end the fight quickly. However, Katsuki thawed himself out with an Explosion. After breaking out of Shoto's ice, Katsuki used some Explosions to somersault himself into the air. While in the air, Katsuki grabbed Shoto's hair and shirt and threw Shoto onto the ground, but Shoto created an ice wall behind himself to prevent himself from being thrown out of the ring. Katsuki immediately attacked Shoto again with an Explosion. Shoto dodged Katsuki's Explosion and countered by throwing Katsuki into his ice wall, throwing himself out of harm's way in the process.

Katsuki became angry at Shoto for not using his full power, telling Shoto not to stand in front of him if he wasn't fighting to win. Katsuki prepared his next attack by jumping into the air and spinning himself around with two Explosions in his hands. As Katsuki made his preparations, Shoto was in deep thought about whether to use his left side or not. He had trouble deciding if it was the right choice to use it.

Shoto admitted to himself that since fighting Izuku, he was struggling with what to do and how to proceed. He became confused and conflicted in his deep thinking. After Izuku yelled at Shoto to keep fighting, Shoto decided to get his head in the game and activated his left side. After activating his left side, Shoto remembered the trauma of his mother's reaction to his fire power and became disheartened, causing him to deactivate his fire power. Katsuki's preparations were complete, and after gaining momentum for his explosions from spinning, he attacked Shoto with his move, Howitzer Impact—an explosive tornado that hit Shoto.

After the smoke cleared, Shoto was out of bounds, seemingly knocked out. A furious Katsuki walked to Shoto and grabbed him by his shirt, dissatisfied with Shoto's performance. However, Katsuki was knocked out by Midnight's perfume before he could do anything to Shoto. Because Shoto went out of bounds, Shoto lost, and Katsuki was declared the winner of the final match and the tournament event, as well as the winner of U.A.'s Freshmen Sports Festival.
