Sorry for the delay over the last few days, guys.

Near the S.H.I.E.L.D. Perimeter – New Mexico Desert

"Thor has already gone in," Jack said as he slowly stood up from the ground. The night wind moved across the dry desert, brushing against the sparse bushes and loose sand scattered across the plateau. In the distance, bright lights illuminated the S.H.I.E.L.D. perimeter where guards were patrolling around the crater.

"I'll go help you bring back those documents and equipment now."

Jane immediately shook her head.

"No, Jack, don't," she said quickly, worry filling her voice. "It's too dangerous. Tom… those things don't matter anymore."

Her hands clenched nervously as she looked toward the heavily guarded crater.

Jack simply smiled faintly.

"That won't do," he replied calmly. "If a man says he will do something, he must do it. Otherwise, what kind of man would he be?"

He turned his head toward her.

"Jane, there's no need to say anything more. Just wait here."

Without hesitation, Jack began walking toward the guard rail surrounding the S.H.I.E.L.D. site.

"Jack…" Jane murmured helplessly.

She suddenly slammed her fist lightly against the ground.

"Seriously… that guy…"

Pepper watched Jack's retreating figure with a complicated expression.

"He's not going to get hurt," she said quietly. "He's just trying to impress you and gain your favor."

Jane turned to look at her.

"I really don't understand why you dislike Tom so much," she said calmly.

Pepper's eyes narrowed slightly.

"That's because the man you see as Tom is actually Jack—the public enemy of humanity. You've been deceived."

Jane stared at Pepper for a moment.

Then she shook her head slowly.

"Do you really think I'm a fool?" she asked.

"I've seen Jack's face on television countless times. If Tom were actually Jack… we would all be dead already."

Pepper gave a cold, dismissive snort.

"He's acting."

Jane's expression grew slightly colder.

"Whatever grudge exists between you and Tom is your personal matter," she said firmly.

"But please don't slander him in front of me. I'm not interested in hearing that."

Pepper's voice became colder.

"You will regret it."

Jane looked directly at her.

"You've said that before."

She remained just as firm.

"And I won't regret it."

Pepper exhaled slowly, frustration filling her chest.

"Believe whatever you want. I've already said what I needed to say. I won't bring it up again."

Jane said nothing more.

Instead, she lifted the telescope and focused it toward the distant crater. Her heart was filled with anxiety as she watched the scene unfolding in the distance.

She was worried about both Thor and Jack.

---

Thor and the Hammer

Meanwhile, inside the guarded crater site, Thor had already slipped past several patrol routes.

Even though he had lost his divine powers, his body remained incredibly strong. Years of battle experience and instinct guided his movements as he silently navigated through the base.

Eventually, he reached the place where the hammer rested.

Under the powerful floodlights, Mjolnir sat embedded in the ground like an immovable mountain.

Thor's face lit up with joy.

"Ha! Ha ha ha!"

His laughter echoed quietly through the night.

"I found you… Hammer of the God of Thunder!"

He stepped forward eagerly and grabbed the handle.

But when he pulled—

Nothing happened.

The hammer didn't move even slightly.

Thor frowned.

Then he pulled harder.

Still nothing.

"Come on…" he muttered.

He gritted his teeth and used every ounce of strength in his body.

But the hammer remained completely motionless.

Thor roared with frustration.

"AAHHHH!"

He lifted his head toward the sky and shouted angrily.

Watching From Afar

Jane watched through the telescope.

Her shoulders slowly sank.

"He couldn't lift it…"

Pepper spoke quietly beside her.

"I already knew that."

Her voice was calm, almost thoughtful.

"There's no way something like that could exist in this world."

Suddenly—

A voice spoke behind them.

"Gods do exist. Just not yet."

Jane and Pepper both turned around instantly.

Jane's face lit up with surprise.

"Tom! When did you come back?"

Jack stepped forward casually.

"Just now," he replied.

He held several notebooks and documents in his hand.

"These are the data and research records you collected. As for the equipment… there was too much to carry."

Jane stared at him in disbelief.

"You actually got them back?"

Her voice was filled with amazement.

"Tom, that's incredible!"

Jack shrugged lightly.

"A promise is a promise."

He glanced toward the distant base.

"We should leave now."

Jane hesitated.

"But Thor…"

Jack shook his head.

"I know. But we can't rescue him right now."

His tone was calm.

"We need to go back first and think of another plan."

Jane nodded reluctantly.

"I guess that's our only choice."

Back at Jane's House

Later that night, the group returned to Jane's home.

The moment they stepped inside, Erik turned around with an angry expression.

"Jane!"

His voice rose sharply.

"You actually lied to me!"

"If something had happened to you, how would I explain it to your father?"

Jane snorted lightly.

"Relax, I came back safely."

She lifted the recovered documents slightly.

"And I even brought some of my work back."

Erik sighed heavily.

"Tom, you shouldn't have taken Jane with you."

Jane stepped forward immediately.

"Don't blame Tom."

"He did exactly what he promised."

Her expression turned serious.

"The real problem now is Thor. He's been captured."

Erik shook his head with irritation.

"That man brought this on himself."

"He's obsessed with that hammer. His mind clearly isn't normal."

Jack leaned against the wall and spoke casually.

"I don't think he's insane."

Everyone looked at him.

"You've heard of the Einstein–Rosen Bridge, right?" Jack continued.

"In simple terms… a wormhole."

He crossed his arms.

"Maybe Thor came from the other side of that bridge."

"Maybe he's simply a life form more powerful than humans."

Erik stared at him in disbelief.

"Young man… is your brain broken?"

He sighed.

"What a shame."

Jane, however, looked thoughtful.

"No… I think Tom might be right."

She remembered the moment Thor had fallen from the sky.

"That strange spatial distortion we saw… it really did look like a wormhole."

She turned toward Jack.

"Tom, do you believe other worlds really exist?"

Jack nodded.

"Human beings don't know everything."

"Thor might truly be the God of Thunder."

Erik groaned.

"You two are completely crazy."

Jane ignored him.

"Erik… we have to rescue Thor."

Her voice was determined.

"You're very influential in the astronomy field. Please help me."

Erik looked at her helplessly.

"You really leave me no choice."

He sighed.

"I'll try."

"But don't get your hopes up."

Jane smiled brightly.

"Thank you so much!"

Erik shook his head and left the room.

Now only Jack, Pepper, and Jane remained.

---

Jack's "Injury"

Jane turned toward Jack gratefully.

"Tom, thank you so much for everything you did today."

She smiled warmly.

"You're a real man."

Suddenly—

Jack winced in pain.

"Ah…"

He bent slightly and pressed his hand against his waist.

Jane rushed over immediately.

"Tom! What's wrong?"

"I'm fine," Jack said.

But his hand remained covering his waist.

"Let me see."

Jane quickly lifted the edge of his shirt.

Her eyes widened instantly.

A large wound was visible on his side.

Blood was slowly seeping out.

"Oh my God!"

"Tom, how did this happen?"

"Wait here!"

Jane ran to grab the medical kit.

Pepper stared at the wound carefully.

Her expression changed slightly.

"Is that real… or fake?"

Jack looked at her and smiled mischievously.

"Are you worried about me?"

Pepper snorted.

"No."

"I'm just wondering if you're lying again."

Jack chuckled quietly.

"Of course it's fake."

Pepper nodded.

"That's what I thought."

She turned away.

"I'll wait until she learns the truth."

Just then Jane returned with a medical kit.

"Tom! I'm back!"

She hurried toward him.

Jack smiled gently.

"I'm fine."

Jane frowned.

"That's a huge wound!"

"I'm taking you to the hospital."

Jack shook his head quickly.

"No need."

He looked directly at her.

"Jane… just wrap it up. I'll be fine."

As Jane prepared the bandages, a faint, sinister glint flashed in Jack's eyes.

When the truth is revealed…

I wonder what expression she'll have.

He almost laughed out loud.

After all—

Watching people fall from hope into despair was always entertaining.
