Chapter 22 - Chapter 21

Akira stepped into his room and closed the door behind him.

The quiet of the inn settled around him, a sharp contrast to the bustling streets outside. He exhaled slowly, letting his body relax as he leaned against the wooden wall.

For a moment, everything was still.

Then—

A faint chime echoed in his mind.

[System Notification]

Akira's eyes narrowed slightly.

"…A quest?" he muttered.

He opened the panel.

Use Gacha System Function

Reward: ???

Akira blinked.

"…Unknown?"

That was new.

"Lucy," he called calmly. "Why is the reward unknown?"

[The reward will depend on how many times the host spins the gacha.]

Akira tilted his head slightly.

"…I see."

A small smirk formed on his lips.

"I forgot this function even existed."

[...]

A hint of excitement flickered in his eyes.

This was his first time using it.

Without hesitation, he opened the gacha interface.

A blue light appeared in front of him, hovering in the air like a floating screen. Inside it was a large capsule machine filled with glowing spheres of different colors.

White.

Green.

Blue.

Purple.

Yellow.

…and a faint glimpse of something darker.

Akira stepped closer, observing it carefully.

"…What do the colors mean?"

A small [ ! ] icon appeared.

He tapped it.

| Gacha Ranking |

White — Normal

Green — Common

Blue — Uncommon

Purple — Epic

Yellow — Legendary

Red — Mythic

Black — Unknown

Akira's eyes lingered on the last one.

Unknown.

"…Interesting."

Another message appeared.

[Host has opened the Gacha System for the first time.]

[Reward: 3 Free Gacha Spins]

Akira raised an eyebrow.

"…Only three?"

He frowned slightly.

"I can't buy more with shop points?"

[Host can obtain Gacha Spins through quest rewards.]

Akira sighed.

"…So it's limited."

Still—

His interest didn't fade.

He looked at the interface again.

A button floated in front of him.

[Spin x3]

"…Let's see what I get."

He pressed it.

The machine began to move.

Slow at first—

Then faster.

The spheres inside collided, glowing brighter as the sound of rotation filled the room.

Akira watched silently.

Focused.

After a moment—

Click.

A sphere dropped.

Purple.

"…Epic," Akira murmured.

Then—

Another.

Click.

Blue.

"…Uncommon."

And finally—

The machine slowed.

One last sphere fell.

Click.

Yellow.

Akira's eyes widened slightly.

"…Legendary."

All three spheres hovered in front of him.

Then—

They opened.

A soft glow filled the room.

Silent Footstep (Skill)

Summoning Ticket

Treasure Scanner

Akira's gaze moved between them.

"Silent Footstep…" he muttered.

[Silent Footstep: Eliminates all sound produced by the user's movement.]

A faint smile appeared.

"…Useful."

His eyes shifted to the paper.

The Summoning Ticket.

[Summoning Ticket: When torn, summons a random character. The summoned entity will be loyal to the user.]

Akira paused.

"…Random, huh."

That made it unpredictable.

Powerful—

But risky.

Then—

The last item.

Treasure Scanner.

[Treasure Scanner: Detects valuable objects within a 10-meter radius.]

Akira frowned slightly.

"…Only ten meters?"

He looked at the system.

"How do I upgrade this?"

[Host can upgrade using shop points.]

Akira didn't hesitate.

"Max it."

The system responded instantly.

[Upgrading…]

5%…

10%…

30%…

50%…

80%…

100%

[Upgrade Complete]

| Treasure Scanner |

Range: 10 Kilometers

Akira's eyes sharpened.

"…That's better."

But before he could close the interface—

Another message appeared.

[Suggestion: Fuse Treasure Scanner with System]

Akira blinked.

"…Fuse?"

"Why would I do that?"

[If fused with previous Map Function, total range will expand to 50 kilometers.]

Akira froze.

"…Fifty… kilometers?"

That wasn't just useful.

That was broken.

For a brief moment, he considered it.

Then—

He smiled.

"…Do it."

[Confirm Fusion?]

"Yes."

A surge of light flashed.

The scanner dissolved into particles and merged into the system interface.

[Integration Complete]

Akira exhaled slowly.

"…That changes things."

Even without the original map—

He now had something better.

He glanced outside.

The sky had already darkened.

Night had come.

Akira turned toward the door.

"…Kanae."

With that—

He stepped out of the room, heading toward hers.
