Like her?
Who is she?
An enemy, or an old lover?
Seraphina Redgrave looked at Ethan Sterling, finding his thoughts even more inscrutable.
At this moment, the door made a soft sound, and a familiar voice rang out.
"Yes, not only do they look alike, their personalities are quite similar too."
Seraphina Redgrave remembered the voice; it was that of Assistant Ayers.
Nathan Ayers lowered his gaze and looked at her for a long time, sighing, "Every time the young lady falls ill, she also sits there quietly beside him."
"She was this age when she died."
At this point, Ethan Sterling's voice was low and gloomy, as if suppressing certain emotions.
Nathan Ayers sighed, taking out a medical report from his bag.
"Sir, this is Miss Redgrave's health report. She is healthy with no other physiological diseases, and she poses no threat to others. You might consider keeping her here long-term."
"However..." Nathan Ayers said with some guilt, "We still haven't found out her other identity information."
Ethan Sterling took the report and glanced at it briefly, then let out an indifferent, cold laugh at Nathan Ayers' words.
"If it can't be found, so be it. Someone without identity is more suitable as a substitute."
"..."
What does he mean, to make her a stand-in lover?
Could it be his ex was also a lunatic, and since she died at 21, he's found another mentally ill of a similar age to replace her?
Why her? She had already spent eighteen years as Diana Redgrave's stand-in; now she had to be a stand-in for Ethan's lover.
What did she do to deserve this?
Thousands of swear words raced through Seraphina Redgrave's mind.
Unaware of Seraphina Redgrave's inner turmoil, Ethan Sterling casually took off his coat and tossed it on her, coldly indicating for Nathan Ayers to leave first.
Nathan Ayers nodded once and respectfully retreated.
Before Seraphina Redgrave realized it, Ethan Sterling's tall frame loomed over her, his long fingers hooking her chin, teasing like she was a pet dog.
He gazed at her lazily, the corner of his eyes slightly raised, his gaze both wicked and wanton: "From now on, you're mine, do you hear me?"
"..."
A chill crept up Seraphina Redgrave's spine.
What did he mean, she's his now? What did he intend to do?
She grasped the soft fabric of the sofa in a flustered tight grip.
But Ethan Sterling's next move made her even more anxious.
He stared at Seraphina Redgrave, suddenly raising his hand to unbutton his shirt.
His slender fingers worked swiftly, and soon his shirt was off.
Seraphina Redgrave stared blankly at his bare torso—broad shoulders, narrow waist, an eight-pack of perfectly defined abs.
But...
This isn't appropriate!
She's a mental patient, and he's undressing in front of her, isn't this perverse?!
Don't strip any further!
Seraphina Redgrave's heart raced wildly, yet her gaze couldn't help but drift to his body.
Suddenly, Ethan Sterling stood, his hand on his belt buckle. With a flick of his fingers, the belt easily came undone.
Seraphina Redgrave's mind roared in protest.
Stop undressing!
Perhaps sensing her meltdown, Ethan Sterling actually halted.
He casually pulled out a set of pajamas from the case Nathan Ayers left behind, then turned and walked into the bathroom.
Once the bathroom door was closed, Seraphina Redgrave rolled her eyes dramatically.
She stood up from the sofa and jogged to the window to look outside.
This place was too twisted; she couldn't stay a minute longer!
But in the courtyard were still two rows of men in black, each with a gun holstered at their waist.
Seraphina Redgrave cursed internally.
In the past, in that restricted area, although there were no law enforcement or moral boundaries, those who desired relief even if they died wouldn't dare to lay a finger on her.
Who would have thought that now back in a society with law, she'd encounter such a situation!
It's unbelievable that Ethan Sterling, the head of a top financial group, would have an interest in a mental patient.
It's really haunting!
Seraphina Redgrave began pacing around the villa.
The front entrance route was completely blocked; she had to find another way. Circling around, she eventually came to a small room on the shady side and opened the window to peer outside.
Behind this window was the wall, originally with just one guard posted, but today, presumably because Ethan Sterling was here, the guard had been moved to the front gate!
Perfect opportunity! If she could jump from the window to the wall, then jump down from the wall, she could escape successfully!
She gritted her teeth, cautiously climbing up the window.
Jumping down wouldn't be difficult at all, but jumping quietly without being noticed required skill.
Seraphina Redgrave stood on the window ledge, just holding her breath ready to jump down when suddenly, steady footsteps came from the doorway.
She was so frightened she immediately held her breath.
As the footsteps drew nearer, she felt more and more trapped.
This damn man, couldn't he take a longer shower?
