Chapter 8 - Disposal? 2/2

Pov: General

Standing on a balcony in the middle of the night, we can find a short muscular figure gazing at the two moons visible in the sky.

(pic)

Moving his eyes from the beautiful sight in front of him, he glances behind him before refocusing his gaze on the moon

*Swoosh!*

A few moments later, 4 figures dressed in dark clothing appeared behind him, all kneeling to the man.

Not sparing them even a glance, the man remains still, his gaze remaining at the moons in the brightly lit stary sky.

" ... How many 'Rogues' have you found?" The man asked after a brief moment of silence.

The tallest of the 4 looked up and began debriefing the man on what information they'd found.

" Sir! There have been a confirmed total of 5 rogues found, and 9 still under investigation!" He said, making his rough and loud voice easily heard by the man.

" Hmnn..." In return, the man hummed, gaining a contemplative glint in his silver eyes.

"...Continue.." He said, motioning for the man to proceed with the report.

" Sir! The rogues seem all originate from the same low-rank positions within their organization, so we have not been able to gain much information, even our most effective advanced interrogation techniques have yielded little results." He reported solemnly.

" Hmnn... Any chances of these 'rogues' being spy's for this unknown demon organization?" The man asked, brushing his hand through his luscious grey beard in contemplation.

This time a smaller more feminine figure replied in a soft tone.

" The possibility has been assessed and thoroughly investigated, and the end result is: The possibility is highly unlikely based on all the variables that we've managed to compile." She said with a certain certainty in her voice.

"... I see..." The man replied, gaining a strange glint in his eyes.

After another brief moment of silence with nothing but the sound of wind blowing harshly through the balcony.

" Prepare for an attack." He said simply, lifting himself off of his leaning position on the railings with a large grin on his face.

Being caught by surprise by the sudden announcement, the female figure stuttered a reply " W-Wah - wait, sir! This would be a great waste of time and resources!"

She protested, not comprehending her superior's decision.

" Bahaha!" he just laughed as a reply, turning around and facing the four figures, the wind blowing through his silver-grey hair, moonlight lighting his muscular figure, casting an imposing visage onto the four.

" There is one thing I've learned in my long life lass." He proclaimed, exuding an air of authority around him.

" Anything that can go wrong-"

...

..

.

" - will go wrong." I told Coco, going over the plan one more time, preparing for all the possible things that can go wrong.

Reciting Myrpys law for the 5th time to Coco, I crumpled the plan's written paper before burning it with a simple 'spark' spell.

These past few weeks have been very stressful, to say the least. Other than the fact that I have to go to bed every night, knowing that Coco is most likely being r*ped as I'm sleeping comfortably on my bed and that I have to see his fake smile every morning after one such assurance happens.

Honestly, the only reason that I can think so calmly and not rush the plan is because of Players Mind. I don't know where I'd be without it.

Moving on, for the past few weeks I've been training my mind magic, trying to make the array smaller, easier to make, and stronger, I've also found a neat trick where if I'm already influencing their mind, I can make certain thoughts, that usually don't have much of an influence on them, ring louder in their head than they should.

Anyway, I think it's strong enough to control or influence her for at least 20 minutes, I'm planning to make her spill any information I want her to, for example, who she is, why she does what she does, all knowledge on magic, and important information.

After making her spill all her information, I'll have to get 'rid' of her... I don't know how to feel about that, it's strange... I just can't bring myself to 'feel' anything when I think I have to end her life. There is no other way I can interpret the disposal of someone else, my mind magic is nowhere near being strong enough to erase so much time from someone's memories, or completely change their personality.

" A-Are you okay Parsley?" Asked Coco, looking at me with a face full of worry and nervousness.

" Yeah... I'm... fine, just zoned out a bit. Anyway, Seeing that Ephedra didn't come barging in the room by now, the static must have worked." I Answered, changing the subject to the bug placed on Coco.

I managed to use Ephedra's noise-canceling field around her room to figure out a way to interfere with what she hears from the bug placed on Coco. It doesn't block it completely, just gives it a static effect like those old school radios, to the point it isn't understandable anymore.

" Y-Yeah, I was kinda nervous... It's good that the plan is going well." He said, muttering eh last part under his breath.

You see the 1st part of the plan is to make the demon get guarded due to the static she hears through the bug, to later confront him at night. Knowing that she can't do anything tonight due to my birthday tomorrow.

Yeah, we decided to spring the trap on my birthday due to the surprise factor it would bring. A saving grace is the fact that dwarven birthdays start at midnight, and end at midnight the next day.

This will also be the first birthday I'll be celebrating in this life. Dwarves and most other races celebrate their 'Gift' sicles. Supposedly it's the day that their perspective gods bless them with a 'Gift'.

Yeah, gods, really threw me for a loop the first time my parents mentioned them in passing. Their real, if the 'gifts' my parents demonstrated are anything to go by.

Mom's gift is called ' A mothers touch ', which basically just improves her talent in anything mother-related. Like, cooking, cleaning, time management, a heightened intuition, and I'm guessing fertility... The last one is a personal assumption, 15 kids is a lot for a dwarf.

(A/N: She had a ton of kids in the show.)

Dad's gift is something he's mentioned before, ' Eye of the blacksmith ' he calls it. It shows him everything in hyper detail, gives a Sharingan like time dilation while he's hammering metal, instinctive knowledge on how high the temperature of the flame has to be, how many times you have to hit the ingot, knowledge on what material is best needed for a specific item, etc.

It's a pretty cheat-level 'gift' when it comes to blacksmithing if you ask me.

Anyway, they both got their 'gift' from the goddess of spring, blacksmiths, fertility, healing, and poetry. Brigid. They didn't tell me much about anything else concerning gods and religions in this world, heck they haven't even told me much of anything about our own race and family!... Most of my knowledge of this world came from Quest rewards and its random knowledge.

Moving on, We kept talking for another 20 minutes before we were called for dinner.

Moving over to the dining room table, where Ephedra placed plates of warm food on the table, and mom took off her apron while discussing something with dad, we greeted everyone.

" Hey, Mom! Hey, Dad!" I yelled out, greeting my parents with a smile on my face and waving my hand in the air, completely ignoring the demon.

" Oh! Hey Parpar, Coco. Ready for dinner? I made your favorite." She said, lifting me up with a hug and holding me in her arms, not noticing the slight twitch in Ephedra's brow after my greeting.

" Really! Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes, Yeeees!!" I screeched, internally wincing at how squeaky my voice sounded.

Jumping down from my mom's grasp I rush over to dad, who had been leaning against the doorframe with a huge smile on his face.

" Dad!" I yelled out trying to get his attention. " Sence I'll be turning five, does that mean you'll finally start teaching me how to forge!!" I Asked, Jumping around him in excitement.

' Ugh, I'd be cringing 24/7 if it wasn't for my acting skill. Acting like a kid is hard work.' I mentally complained for the nth time.

" Absolutely!" He responded almost instantly, somehow seeming more excited than I am.

" Not!" Mom interrupted, Not looking pleased with the instantaneous answer dad gave.

Already understanding that this would be the start of another argument, I discreetly glans over to Ephedra, noticing the smile on her face is more genuine than usual, and the malicious glint in her eyes.

' Tch, How is she doing this?" I clicked my tongue in annoyance, contemplating how to avoid another argument.

As I was about to say something to divert their attention, I feel a mild headache and some type of force attracting to me.

Messaging in between my eyes with a scrunched-up nose, I wince in pain.

This seems to be enough to distract my parents from their growing argument, both of them look at me with a look of recognition in their eyes before they bow down on one knee facing me.

' Wha-' Before I could even finish my thought, a dull grey ball of light fazes through the ceiling, slowly inching closer towards me.

Backing away slightly from the light in confusion, I look at my parents questioningly.

"Don't worry Parpar, it's just you receiving your gift, even if it's a bit early. The signs are exactly the same for every gifting ceremony I've seen" She said reassuringly, alleviating some of my confusion.

" Your mom's right dear, the headache, the light, and if everything is going well, a sort of connection should be forming between you and your godly gifter." He said with a serious tone, looking intently at the slowly approaching orb of light.

" Though it seems that we will need a new god added to our alter, seeing as I'm positive that this 'gift' isn't Brigid's." He continued, a contemplative look adorning his face.

As I was about to comment on what they were telling me, the orb sped up and entered my body through my forehead.

Hearing a notification go off at the same time as the light receded into my body, I instinctively checked my status.

" Sir, it's been confirmed, he's housing a rogue. Whether he knows it or not is a different matter." A small figure reported to a far larger one.

The large figure didn't respond, instead, he kept smoking while reading through the report.

* Fuuuuu *

Blowing out a gust of blood-red smoke, he grabbed the cigarette and crushed it in a nearby ashtray aggressively.

' Damnit, brother...' The small figure thought in annoyance. ' What' are ya doin'!' His thoughts continued while simultaneously skimming through the rest of the report, growing more and more annoyed at the naivety of his brother.

(You, doing)

Stopping abruptly at the report of the boy the demon brought with her, he read his report closely before quickly bringing up the information on the demon herself.

" Damn, it's an 'E negative' type, just ma luck. Ugh" Palming his hand on his face, he abruptly stood up, surprising his minion to his size.

(My)

" Sir?" He asks unsurely.

" Prepare carriage, we have ta to strike foist ." he said, throwing a coat on and walking out the room.

Pov: Parsley

After the whole 'gifting', the day passed relatively normally, just an early celebration before my official 'gift' day.

Mom and dad were ecstatic that I got my gift early, apparently, it was extremely rare, though some of that excitement dimed when I told them my gift and the god who gave it to me. But all in all, they were happy for me.

Coco was also really excited, it was nice seeing the usually shy puppy all hipper and sticking to me like glue.

Ephedra was another story entirely, she congratulated me with a stiff smile on her face. I could feel all the negative emotions gushing out of her, which is good, the more distracted she is the better, mind magic works best on an unstable mind after all.

Anyway, I was woken up at midnight for a fun and enjoyable party. We played games, ate snacks, and they kept telling me very interesting stuff about the gods, 'gifts', how they use it, and how the cycle continues with the 'awakening', 'limiting', 'severance', and 'connection' sicles, I'll go further into that later.

After the party, we went to town and checked out a passing magic carnival, ate brunch at a fancy restaurant, went on a picnic, and currently, we're just strolling through the city and seeing the sights, which I surprisingly haven't gotten around to doing till now.

It was a surprisingly enjoyable day, especially since I asked my parents if Coco could come and for Ephedra to stay at the house, knowing the demon hated all the chores mom left for her to do. All in all, it was a good day. Was.

[ Quest - Discover the hidden intentions of the poisonous plant! - Canceled!! ]

Due to the interference of outside sources, the 'poisonous plant' has been taken care of.

Due to the Player preparation, this task was easier for the outside source, thus the Player gets only one reward at random.

...

...

Player has gained ' Knowledge of the racial skill of a dwarf '!

Immediately after reading that notification, I dismissed the window and wanted to rush back home and see what happened.

Telling my parents that I felt tired and wanted to go home and finish the festivities early, we started walking back home.

During the walk, my parents and Coco kept asking questions about how I was, and how I was feeling, dad even picked me up and put me on his shoulders for a piggyback ride.

Walking at a slow pace to the entrance of our house, Dad abruptly stops, confusing the three of us before we look in the direction dad's looking.

There we see two men standing at the entrance to our home, both wearing old school mafia-type clothing and looking straight ahead without offering us even a glace. At least I think, it's hard to tell with those glasses on.

Dad slowly takes me off his shoulder placing me down and crouches in front of me, holding my shoulders with both hands, he looked at me with a warm expression.

" Hey, Parse." he said lightly, making me take my eyes off of the 2 men.

" I need you to stay here for a bit okay?" He told me, unconsciously squeezing his trembling grip on my shoulders.

Not waiting for a response, he stood up with shaky breath, turning toward a worried-looking mom, he gave her a weak smile and told her they'll talk later.

Looking at dad's receding back, my mom only nods and walks away while dragging me and Coco by the arm, with me almost twisting my neck to get one last look at dad, just in time to see the men slightly bow and seemingly guide dad inside.

" Is he part of the mafia or something?" I muttered, before seeing them disappear into the shadows of the entrance hall.

*Step*

*Step*

Walking down the stair, hearing my steps echoing through the stairway, seeing bloodstains on the walls.

' Fresh...' I thought passing my finger and feeling the wetness of the stains.

*Step*

*Step*

Cracked walls coming into my vision, followed by large desperate gashes that keep increasing the farther I go down.

*Step*

*Step*

Hearing the wails and screams of a woman as I reach the end of the stairs, exhale a shaky breath, and walk to the dining room where I hear the screams originating from.

*BAM!!*

*Scream!!!!*

*BAAM!!*

*SCREAM!!!*

Hearing the familiar sound of fist meeting flesh, and the following screeches, I resolve myself for what's coming.

*BAAAM!!!*

" AAAAAAAHHH!!! PLEAS!!! STOOOP!!!!"

Hearing the screaming voice more clearly, I recognize it as Ephedra's.

" AAAAAAAH!! NO!! NO! NONONO NOOOOOO-!!"

*BAAM!!*

With one last hit, the room went quiet.

" Huff." A tall wide figure huffed, standing up from his straddling position, wiping his bloodied fists on his waistcoat.

" Damn dollface, ya nearly blew my ear out, heh, not that I have any." The figure said, chuckling at his own joke.

Turning around to face me, he grabbed a tissue from his pocket and started wiping his intimidating bloodied skeletal hands.

" Don't ya think? Brother?" he said in a familiar accent now facing me fully.

Standing at an intimidating 8 feet tall, wearing a black jacket, fedora and trousers, he easily stood out in the brightly lit room, with his cigarette burning with blood-red smoke that shaped in unusual designs before disappearing, his huge everlasting shark-like grin, with a gold tooth shining in the light, and his clear skeletal features visible for all to see.

" Well... I guess she was pretty loud..." I steeled myself, not glancing at the badly beaten broken body on the floor.

" Haha, that' it?" He asked amused. " Not even'a 'Hello?'" He asked his grin somehow growing larger.

" Heh, I guess yer just shocked ta see me, ain't ya Zoro?" He continued before I could answer, amusement basically dripping from his tone.

(You're)

Deciding to get straight to the point, I asked him a question.

" What do you want... Sans"

( I know, 'sans really, well shut up, the only person that came to mind for this character was mafiafell sans... at least the accent and the look. If you want to hear basically what he sounds like just search up mafia fell comic dub.
