Corvo noticed that the creature looked like bird so he decided to be more compassionate towards his avian compatriot.
The ugly thing turned around and gave Corvo quite a shock. This creature had been crying so hard his eyes turned red had tears all over its body as if he took a bath in the river.
Who? are you? The creature did its best to try and regain some composure but failed he was still so overwhelmed with sadness.
The reason that Corvo went and tried to help this thing was because it was much weaker than himself and he felt compassionate at the moment.
He was very shocked to see that it was as intelligent as it was. He had assumed that because it had started crying like that he was intelligent but not as intelligent as he thought.

The creature slowly regained his composure and introduced itself My name is Adam a Poisonous Duck billed platypus. I don't have a clan.
A platypus? Now that it was mentioned he did look like one but only In shape but colors were very different. His beak was deep purple but it had slight cracks running through it. It seemed very painful to be honest he was a mess.
His body looked as if had been through war, there were plenty of scars and some scabs.
What happened to you friend? Corvo said in a compassionate tone.
I.I.I. Adam the platypus started crying again.
Corvo felt a headache forming. Maybe I shouldn't have gotten involved.
After a long time of crying Adam the platypus finally managed to tell his story. It turns out that his contracted partner was killed by a devil cultivator and had his blood drained and died a husk of a man.
Adam tried fighting back but the devil cultivator was too strong for him and broke its body fairly well. The devil cultivator didn't even absorb Adam since his cultivation was too weak to help him advance. Infact it would have been detrimental and caused more problems.
If it wasn't for a cultivator from the sect where Corvo was from it probably would of been food for those wild beasts.
Ever since he was brought to the habitat he had been taken care of enough where he wouldn't die from his wounds but he wouldn't be recovered to 100 percent since the resources would be more that triple that was used.
Corvo sighed. Friend you have been through a lot. I am not some heroic bird that will right your wrongs for you but I will hunt and help you recover. You will need to get revenge for yourself or you might get a heart demon and it will affect your cultivation.
I see Adam looked at Corvo with fondness it seems like even when he was at his lowest he still managed to find a friend.
Wait right here I'll go find us a meal.
Corvo took off looking for something that Adam could eat since his beak was cracked it might be hard to chew something. Corvos eyes twinkled as soon as it found a tier one snake.
Corvo flew back with a tier one snake in it's talons but as soon as he arrived to where Adam was he was being chased by a purple eyed wood squirrel.
These squirrels were at best tier one creatures but the one chasing Adam wasn't even a tier one it was just on the verge of advancing and it must have seen an injured platypus and thought it would be easy prey.
Corvo dropped the snake which startled both Adam and the squirrel and then Corvo fired Crow ember flames at the squirrel killing it.
Corvo picked up the snake and flew towards Adam and the dead squirrel.
Time to eat friend once you recover you won't have to run from tier 1 creatures.

No problem. I am just helping out for now. You still have to recover and get stronger especially if you want to get revenge for your contractor.
Adam was quiet but he looked at Corvo with eyes filled with gratitude.
They talked and chatted throughout their meal becoming closer friends.
Sleep Adam I will continue to hunt and you need to absorb that energy and recover. Since you have a poison attribute I'll hunt more snakes.

Corvo with a slight blush lifted up his wing to hide his embarrassment.
No worries Adam let's just find a cave to sleep in tonight. We need a base to recover and a place to store cores so that you can recover in peace.
That night for the first time in a long while Adam had a peaceful rest.
