Chapter 2 - Woke and Wary

I dozed, as a strong hand rested on my head. Grass brushed my skin and I sat up, opening my eyes to meet with golden ones. The masculine figure in front of me had long white hair, iridescent in the soft light. He was exactly as described, Ludus, the eternal creation god of Ludiphel. He sat in front of me, lounging in the clearing as four other beings sat at a table close by. I recognized each of them as the pillars of Ludiphel and the court of Ludus. Ventus of wind, Oceanus of water, Ignus of fire, and Terrae of earth. Each looked along as Ludus and I interacted.

"They have not been kind to you, sweet one," Ludus said softly. "Whether fault of mine or theirs, you did not deserve this fate. May you use this chance to have a better life."
