While Iluna faced Lakin Prisia at the ruins of Stonehenge, Shard chose the right path at the crossroads, passed through the Library Maze, and ventured alone into the darkness, snow, and dense mist.
He braced against the wind, traveling uphill, where countless shadows lurked in the dark Dead Forest. The Pantanal Voodoo Society and their allies had spread their forces everywhere, so there was no one to stop Shard at the foot of the tower. However, the island's monsters, driven mad by the power of the Evil Object, did not retreat.
They peeped at Shard from the dark, and halfway up the slope, a ghoul with green mushrooms growing on its back and a corpse pierced by vines simultaneously emerged.

Moonlight at his fingertips illuminated the path through the Dead Forest amidst the snowstorm. The monsters surrounding Shard, lacking the intimidation of Iluna's Skeleton Horse, were startled by the moonlight but refused to leave.
