The middle-aged woman's voice, tinged with surprise, emanated from the phone, and upon hearing it, Little You felt a chill rush straight to her forehead.
"You just saw another person in the living room?!"
"Yeah! He took your dirty clothes you'd changed out of and went into the bathroom! I thought it was your boyfriend!"
"The bathroom?" Little You only then realized that the bathroom door had somehow been closed, something she never did herself.
In that moment, fear engulfed her, and without bothering to explain to her mother, Little You hurried to unlock the door. She frantically twisted the doorknob, but true despair set in when something else happened.
It seemed as though something was jammed in the lock, the handle wouldn't press down, and the door just wouldn't open!
"Thump, thump, thump..."
Strange noises came from the bathroom across the living room, and Little You used both hands to try opening the door, while continuously glancing back toward the bathroom.
