In those few minutes, all of Crow's more than twenty subordinates were taken down.
There were no more stairs to climb; construction had yet to be completed on the upper levels due to the unfinished building. Crow looked at the staircase in despair, then turned and ran toward the balcony on this floor.
The balcony had only finished constructing the load-bearing platform; there was no railing or anything of the sort. At the moment, the balcony was just a platform jutting out of the building, ten stories high. Jumping down meant certain death.
As soon as he stood on the balcony, a strong light shone on him. Perhaps gun barrels were aimed right at him.
Crow looked down in terror as the crisp sound of footsteps approached from behind.
Lige walked closer step by step, his face as cold as ice.
"Don't come any closer! If you do, I'll jump from here!"
