Valerius had two weaknesses of which Evelyn was very much aware.
The first being his ego. He absolutely can't stand it when someone hurts his ego and the second is Power.
Just the mere thought of someone being a potential threat to him is enough to drive him mad.

"Yes Evelyn, we had made that deal but you didn't fulfill your end of the deal", Valerius said with a huff.
"What's you mean I didn't fullfill my end?"
"We had both made an agreement not to cross each other's parts which didn't happen until now!"
"I didn't even come to confront you when the vampires killed my husband so why on earth are you here now and destroying everything and everyone in sight!"
"Damn it woman ", He cursed frustratedly .
"Your daughter is the problem! She has to be killed!"
"Your daughter is a major threat to my existence that needs to be eliminated!" He roared in utter rage and disgust.
"Enough Valerius !"
"That's enough." I have had enough of your nonsense ok?"
"Please no more". My daughter poses no threat to you whatsoever". Evelyn replied furiously.
"Sigh!"....
"Listen Valerius , I'm well aware you know about the prophecy but I can assure you as long as I'm here, I won't let anything of that sort happen."
"Look you really need to trust me now. You will be perfectly safe as long as you don't do anything harmful to the wolves. You also need to keep the vampires under control because if you don't then there's definitely going to be a war outbreak soon." Evelyn reasoned.
It's not like she couldn't fight him or anything but sigh...
She didn't want anymore troubles in her life now. She only wants to live in peace with her daughter and give her all the love and attention she could.
A thought of leaving the city had crossed her mind earlier but she shrugged it off. Now it seems by the recent turn of events she will have to leave this city with Emma never to return.

"Darn it Evelyn!" He hissed.
"Enough of all these lies!"
"I am done listening to you woman, I've had about enough ."
"We had a deal but you didn't fulfill your part of the deal so now, I'm also not going to fulfill mine. I'm going to do what I want and what I think is best ok? So get out of my way before things get ugly". He retorted with a voice full of rage and resentment.
"Valerius I have tried reasoning with you but if it's a fight you want then fine!"
"You shall have a fight but just listen to this, before you get to Emma you are going to have to go through me understood!"
"I won't let you harm my daughter in anyway," she challenged.
"Alright then! I'd love to see how you stop me!" Valerius said and vanished before she could blink.
"Valerius !" Evelyn yelled in rage going after him.
Valerius stood tall right in front of Evelyn's house. A wicked sarcastic smirk formed on his face. His mind was forcused on only one thing and that was getting rid of Emma.
He took a few steps forward but before he could reach the house he received a powerful blow which sent him flying a few meters back.
Right before him stood a furious Evelyn with bright golden eyes. They both stared at each other with eyes full of blazing fire.
"Step aside woman !" He yelled.
"No way ! I tried reasoning with you but to no avail. If it's war you want then war you shall have!" Evelyn retorted as she leapt forward,her body undergoing a transformation.
Valerius was flung further from the house as a result of the unexpected attack.
It took him quite a while to get over the unexpected attack but before he could do anything she threw another attack at him but this time he managed to dodge the attack.
Evelyn threw multiple attacks towards Valerius in her state of rage which he barely managed to survive.
If there was one there was one thing he knew one thing at this point that would be Evelyn was willing to do anything to protect her daughter.
He knew it very well that Evelyn's weakness was Emma so clearly it's obvious that right now, the person who he was battling with wasn't just an alpha, he was battling with a mother.
He was battling with a mother who loves her child more than anything or anyone else and who will do anything for her child.
It was a very fierce battle between the two and at this point, he had already sustained so many injuries. His healing powers were slowed down due to the fact that he wasn't battling with an ordinary werewolf. He was battling with the supreme wolf whose power was way stronger than that of any other werewolf and the venom in an alpha's claw slows down a vampire's healing and speed.
Valerius had already lost all hope of winning this battle because let alone winning, he might not be able to even survive this battle.
It was definitely known to him that at this rate, Evelyn was definitely going to kill him because she was furious. She would definitely do anything for her daughter.
Valerius had come to a decision to surrender when...
"Mommy!"
"Evelyn's head instantly jolted towards the direction of the child's voice.
Just at the doorstep stood little Emma staring at her mother innocently.
Evelyn at that instant began to howl, signaling other werewolves of an impending danger. She also tried getting Emma into the house but the little girl couldn't understand the meaning of her mom's cries.
To Evelyn it was a great moment of distress because the little girl couldn't understand her but to Valerius this was a golden opportunity. It was an opportunity to put an end to Emma's life once and for all and he decided to make use of that opportunity.
With Evelyn focus being shifted to Emma, he decided to attack Emma.
He ran at lighting speed to the top of a tree and leapt from it in an attempt to stab Emma with his poisonous dagger but Evelyn took notice of what he was about to do and at just the right time she got in the way.
