Safe Zone 1.
A boy and his mother were running among the thousands of screaming and terrified people within the massive Safe Zone. The woman held her son's hand tightly and ran as fast as he could while she sweat buckets with her mind on the verge of collapse over what she had just seen a few minutes ago.
It started with a few thuds, people falling to the ground lifelessly with their bodies looking skinny and grey, their sockets hollow while their mouths were open in O shape as if in marvel of what had just occurred.
Then screams began as people realised that everyone around them was spontaneously deflating and shrivelling up in the blink of an eye.
The fact that it happened to multiple people at once without warning, without a prelude, without mercy, was what made them all terrified. After all, an enemy you could see over the horizon with a booming voice and a deadly machete was better than one who came without a word and without a grand entrance to make himself known.
