I felt a sudden sense of warmth. I opened my eyes to see a jelly-like substance. I swam to the top but felt hard metal. I kept feeling my way around till I felt something give. I pushed myself out and fell on a pile of slime. I got up carefully wondering if the Dutchman had finally used my blood to make some sort of army. As I made my way out. I heard a series of clicking sounds. I made my invisible as I made my way to the only possible exit. I used echolocation and the clicking sound turned into a sound of absolute pain. I quickly climbed the wall and watched ten feet tall beasts walk in my direction. They were as wide as a bear with a pale ghostly colored skin. Unlike mine their skin wasn't armored plated like fishscales but fur. They walked around and a small square shot out of their shoulders. Their faces were mole-like with jelly like tentacles wiggles by the nose. A few spikes protruded from the chin like beard but they looked like claws. I guess it is like an insect antenna. Their scans gave them nothing so they moved. I crawled out of a busted window to see my planet decimated. Then I extended my senses again this time not using echolocation. I found a group of human. I recognized none of them as I flew over and grabbed the alien and tossed him onto a piece of metal bar poking out of a demolished building. It cried in pain and flailed helplessly before it died. It's blood was turquoise blue and some of it sprayed on my face.
I came down and made myself visible. The humans let out a sound of joy before I got hugs. I asked them to tell me everything but they said it is best if we go elsewhere. I really wanted to hold hands so I could make everyone invisible as we walked very carefully to our destination. But the beta command center had sent a helix so we got there comfortably. The government had fallen. So the military was in charge. They had conscripted the entire population of survivors. The child worked as an assistant medic, the elderly as senior medics. Everyone in between were soldiers riding tanks, flying fighter jets or riding bikes. Each armed to the teeth. Gender was irrelevant. If they were able they were given a firearm to use. The aliens were trying to penetrate the place. I took a deep breath and the man next to me pulled a bazooka and killed the rest. I wanted to let out a death wail and watch as these beasties fell and started to spasm in pain. I remembered that echolocation causes them pain so I quietly used it as I made them spasm without uttering a sound. I watched as these things popped like balloons before they were very still. The humans came applauding and they cheered as they welcomed me as a new survivor. I bowed to show my respect.
They escorted me in as the military came forth I requested that I wanted answers. They told me to mind my own business. I was taken to the med bay and given a blood transfusion. The other residents came and so did a few serious faced soldiers. I felt the needle prick me. I waited a moment and snatched a blood bag. I took a moment before I drank the entire thing. I saw the entire invasion. A hundred years have passed since then. The vampires and werewolves were looking for me relentlessly. Unfortunately they had no idea where these beings had taken me. I opened my eyes and saw a young man staring at me. I bowed out of respect and he did the same. I asked where the nocturnals were. They said they were in their strong hold called the Citadel. A little girl gave me a hug and asked me if I was leaving. I pressed my hand and told her that I need to find my family. The soldier said that I am not fit for battle so I was escorted to the civilian quarters. I was taken to the shower blocks where I changed my clothes and was escorted to the front. I was introduced as Alexi. The general was told that I was asking about the nocturnal population. He asked me if I knew who used what tech to kill these Chthon. To which I replied that I just woke up from a slime bath so I have no clue who did what. One of the civilians yelled at him. He said his current priority is to figure who exposed this base.
I closed and reached out to Oleg was and he came and gave me a hug. We were told to pause the reunion as we were being transported elsewhere. I asked where the nocturnal palace called bloodstone was. Oleg subtly pointed at one of the monitors on his side. The building was demolished. The trees were on fire and the waters looked like they were poisonous. I cried and Oleg gave me a hug. We were apart but still I felt his warm embrace. The nocturnals had hopped in their vehicles and taken off. I would happily adjust my shield to convince these beasties to leave us alone as we made our way to our destination. They left for the Citadel. I can sense that it is the only safe place left. They arrived to see the place was dilapidated but it still had good bones. So reconstruction began as everyone watched each other's back as they had double trouble to watch out for. Once construction ended. Sam, Soren and Oleg got the top floor. The council members moved to the next floor and everyone got the other floors. The living was repurposed as the throne room. The med bay was the east wing. The west wing was made into an armory.
They made themselves at home hoping one day I would show up and begin using my shield to block the monsters from finding us. I did show up with the fifth batch of humans. Kirigan and his twin Kaz had a part of the north wing turned into a ballroom and entertainment center. As days went by more humans came asking for sanctuary. The military was allowed in under the condition that they follow nocturnal law or they are more than welcome to leave. They were surprised to see that nocturnals weren't in tactical gear but dressed in a casual but regal manner. The werewolves were dressed like cowboys or medical uniforms. While the vampires were like they were from the victorian era or vikings. There were a few dressed like Navajo or Maoris. The other they have noticed is the Chthon don't dare come this way. It is as though someone or something has convinced them to avoid this area as a rule. The techies used all sorts of equipment but they had no clue why these things left us alone. Some didn't care but the senior ranks were curious. They were hoping to replicate it so that they can use it elsewhere. The reply was simply be grateful or mind your own business.
I went upstairs and was told that the roof was off limits. I reminded him that this is my house. There is no limit nonsense for me. I can have him evicted if he persists. He called it and Sam yelled from the other end to let me roam around freely and he had better behave or he is evicted. The man gave me a salute and went back to unboxing a metal crate. Inside was a huge rifle and the bullets were humongous. He loaded the weapon and took his position. I made it clear to the soldiers that the bats are off limits. If he shoots any I will throw him out myself. He sarcastically retorted to keep that in mind. I jumped off the roof and landed smoothly and Cain chuckled. I gave him a polite bow and he asked me if I was up to speed on current events. I said that I have been introduced to the latest creature feature. The ones nearby burst out laughing. I simply hope that zombies are extinct. The response was a simple stare. It took me a minute to figure it out. Zombies are still being manufactured. What psychopath is hellbent on bringing about human extinction. I asked him if anyone has any clue what idiot was behind it because a hundred years ago I was falsely accused. The response was I don't know.
