Chapter 63 - Slowpoke

Joana is speechless, what the hell happened while she was stuck with cranky Crane? When did her friends became a suicidal maniacs! But enough about that, she should focus on treating the wounded.

"I didn't bring any herbs with me and I can't use magic that much." Joana said as a lightbulb sparked above her, some could've sore light actually flashed above her.

"Leslie you could talk to plants right?" Joana asked, to which Leslie simply nodded. "Great, could you ask them..." Joana then listed some herbs, mostly focused on healing small wounds and burns.

Its the least she could do with her limited knowledge and experience until they receive proper treatment from their healers.

Leslie then talked to the trees and asked if they could find her the herbs her friend, Joana, has described, to which the trees are willing to help as vines all over the forest began plucking the herbs and passed it from one tree to the other with the vines. while Leslie herself could sense the whole thing happening.

...

Leslie gathering herbs, Joana crushing and making it into a pulp with some help from the magic wielders from the tribe of water.

Charlotte and Elijah gathering the nearby wounded.

Alex helping the datus and other warriors defend against the fenrirs.

Kristin who's wounded is being treated by Joana.

Everything is happening all at once that its hard to keep track of it. At least to an outsider who suddenly got there.

"Where the hell am I now?" A stranger said to himself, clearly this isn't his first rodeo

When he looked around he saw titan-class monsters, "What the hell? Are those Electro Fenrirs?" He said in amazement rather than fear.

"Those thing are rare, I gotta document this." He said as he took out a rectangular crystal and aimed the flat side at the monsters.

But before he could document it, light seems to bend around him, "Oh c'mon!" He exclaimed before he disappeared just as quickly as he appeared.

-Elijah and Charlotte-

"This is my fifth one!" Charlotte exclaimed to Elijah , "Keep up slowpoke!"

Elijah just grunted, if he could control his magic he could've rescued all the warriors by himself. To his estimate, there are at least 34 injured warriors in sight, though its only on this side of the battlefield.

AWOOO!!!!!!

A howl came from the distance, and clouds began forming in the sky with lightning jumping about in them, threatening to fall any second.

"I have a bad feeling about this," Elijah commented as he stared at the forming thunder clouds, "Charlotte! We need to find cover!" Elijah shouted towards Charlotte, who's helping another warrior, also looked up.

Charlotte looked at Elijah and nodded, and she just carried the the warrior princess style, despite the warrior being a man.

The man who's barely conscious didn't care, he's riddled with burns of varying degree.

Elijah who stopped his lightning magic helped the warrior his closest to, and they slowly walked towards where the temporary hospital.

While trying to get to the cover of the trees, lightning started raining all over, kicking up dusts and debris as lightning slam onto the ground.

Elijah doesn't know how big the radius of this spell is but he couldn't care less as he's busy trying to survive the onslaught while helping the warrior.

In the corner of Elijah's eye, he saw a lightning falling straight down towards Charlotte's path, and without thinking, he let go of the warrior and subconsciously activated his lightning magic and jumped towards the lightning bolt, leaving a trail of dust and dirt.

Charlotte who's busy running, didn't notice the lightning, but she felt a tingle on her neck and looked up, and time seemed to slow down. The lightning is definitely hitting her, but her reaction isn't fast enough to dodge lightning.

'I noticed it, it means I still have time' She thought as she prepared to dive forward using her momentum from running.

And she leaped forward, but the tingling feeling only intensified 'Crap, I jumped too early' Charlotte thought as she mistimed her jump, the lightning will a hundred percent hit her now.

But lightning came from another direction as it intercepted the one coming from the sky.

"Run slowpoke!"

Charlotte heard the familiar voice of Elijah who intercepted the lightning.

"Stop staring and start running!" Elijah screamed again.

Charlotte who froze in either fear or awe or both came to her senses again and started running once more.
