Chapter 104 - A day before the tournament

Two days had passed after the recent events that had happened with Akira's village, Akira took heed of the event and relieved that it was taken care of. However, the uneased feeling started when he knew that Sora would indulge his habit again after his scolds and punishments.

Akira, confused what to do at this point, decided he would go train before the tournament started. Unexpectedly, the Raishoun gang visited Akira and offered help to his train.

With that, Akira was heavily pleased by the offer and went to the nearest grounds devoid of unnecessary damage.

It was five against one.

The later fight, Horka was defeated by Akira. Acknowledging his strength, Horka devised that the group would be sufficient enough to handle Akira. They caught wind of Akira's immortality from Kazuya, and in this match, they wouldn't hold back.

The tension sparked throughout the air, even in groups there were still doubts remained.

"Hope you don't mind us going all out, Akira. It's not too late to back down," Gakuto just as excited as the rest, still offered a chance for Akira to stand down the offer. "Nah, I'm ready whenever you are." Akira's vein from his arm went visible, holding tight his scythe to fight.

Akira's decision was voiced, all five stood vigilant. Gakuto delivered the first strike, causing the ground to quake with his vibration ability.

Akira maintained his balance, never losing contact. But as he was focused, his Keen Instinct, sharpened as an attack came right from the ground. It was Horka's wax magic.

Quick to jump, Akira wasn't quick enough to react what was next. Yeru appeared behind, his teleportation was a silent death. Immediately, Akira fend off Yeru's blade who was quicker than Yeru was.

It was a close call, but the next attack wouldn't be as forgiving. Akira was stuck on a sticky ground, covered in Lilith's gum magic. Then the next assault came from above, a giant ball of spike made out of Horka's was plunged right at him.

Akira was quick to move, but didn't expect to be left open to Kazuya who teleported right in front of his abdomen. Kazuya was close to stab through, but Akira dodged the imminent stab by increasing his power and coating blood on his feet to gain his movement back.

Somersaulting in backwards, Akira gained momentum and jumped straight at them. Lilith quick with her defense, let out a bubblegum from her mouth, big enough to bounce a dropping boulder.

His scythe, even with the tip sharp, couldn't pierce through it. It was thick, sticky, durable, and had much more elasticity. Retreating, Akira was in a moment of difficulty.

Soon, Gakuto's hand reached into the empty air. His vibration flowed through the air, shaking the air itself. It worked like sound vibration, vibrating Akira's whole body in distressed. Accessing more pressure, he had Akira coughed in blood, unable to move.

As he rendered him immobilised, all of them moved away together. Yeru instantly teleported, stabbing Akira through the chest. The next was Kazuya's attack from above, using flesh magic to engulf his whole arm into a fleshy monstrous arm, assisted by Lilith's bubblegum to make a jumpy surface for him to gain enough height for impact.

The next was Horka, imprisoning Kazuya and Akira into an iron maiden-like cube. With a squeeze, Akira was later incapacitated and sealed inside it while Kazuya immediately teleport outside. Next was Gakuto's vibration, exploding the wax cube into a massive explosion of his waxes.

All joined together as it wasn't over, Akira's mana was still felt. The dust screen soon cleared, Akira remained unscathed, his clothes torn.

"His regeneration is quick..." Horka laughed with a tone of admiration. Many suspect it'd take minutes after that attack, but surprisingly took no more than 4 seconds.

Quick on his feet, Akira instantly took down Gakuto. In a flash, taking down the fortress Horka built after that surprise and demolishing them whole. A kick to his guts left Horka unconscious, the next was Lilith who got taken down by the shockwave of Akira's stomp.

Yeru's teleportation was a predictable dance, easily anticipated by Akira. He seized the opportunity, grabbing Yeru's foot and launching him away. Yeru reacted swiftly, teleporting to avoid the impact. However, Akira's lightning-fast scythe toss, launched the moment Yeru reappeared, caught him unprepared.

The rhythmic vibrations in the air, a consequence of Yeru's teleportation, were Akira's guide, revealing Yeru's next reappearance.

Kazuya was no easy to defeat, his wits combined with his practical ability made it much more handful. One ability could be unpredictable enough, but the copies he had made it difficult to predict his next move.

By clapping his hands, Kazuya shook the whole place using Gakuto's vibration to break Akira's balance. Before Akira could jump off the shaking ground, he noticed spikes made out of wax planted everywhere with his Danger Sense. Akira maneuvered easily.

"Hmph... I knew this won't be an easy win." Kazuya used his wax tendrils to incapacitate Akira in mid-air, however, not a single of the tendrils caught him.

With his swift movements, Akira passed through any obstruct that got in his way, leading Kazuya opted for a defensive strategy. The wax was reinforced with bubblegum, creating much denser, much elasticity for high force attacks. Not even from Akira's scythe alone could crack the walls.

Kazuya won in range, leaving Akira with no better option but to only fend off the incoming tendril attacks until exhaustion.

"You're out of option, taking you down will be one hell of a satisfaction."

"I learned a thing or two, so I'm not easy to take down." Akira hurled his scythe upwards.

"You're seriously getting too confident now? I despise it." Kazuya prepped his wax tendrils combined with deadly vibration similar to a drill.

"Whatever you're doing, I'm not going to be stalled that easily with you being vulnerable." Kazuya created a shield with spikes on the front flat, making it hard for Akira to get to him.

Akira jumped lightly several times, pumping up his muscles. He raised his hand, "Summon."

Akira summoned his bow, channelling all the strength as he held the string.

"Bow and arrow? Didn't strike you the type to be a ranged one as well, what the hell is even your primary role as a warrior, huh?"

"I don't give a damn, whichever role I picked is none of my concern. In fact, I've been itching to show off as of late." Akira exhaled calmly, boosting his concentration.

"At this distance? You're a fool." Through Kazuya's direct command, the tendrils began to attack. The tendrils tried to disturb Akira's focus, but he remained unwavering. Running while holding his bow, Akira fired multiple qarrows mid air but couldn't land a single hit still with Kazuya's shield still attached.

With the tendrils still following him, Akira jumped high into the blinding sunlight. His muscles contracted, a single arrow pulled with a mighty strength.

[Blood Magic: Arrow of Damascus]

Blood appeared, enshrouding the point of the arrow creating a hard-looking blood-imbued arrow that could penetrate any obstacles. Once unleashed, its powerful might shattered the tendrils with ferocious winds. It wasn't because of the blood magic enhancing the arrow, it was Akira's raw strength alone.

Conjuring a wall made of wax, thicker than any steel, denser, shattered in an instance. "Urgh... What? It's like he's hurling a mountain!" With Kazuya's focus disturbed, Akira rushed behind him.

Before he could land a hit, Kazuya teleported in a much safer distance. "Scythe! Come!"

The scythe that was thrown up into the sky, finally catch Kazuya by surprise. "The scythe moved?" Kazuya, once again, teleported instinctively. And defeated.

Akira, who already had his scythe on his hands, pointed the blade to his neck. "You flinched."

"I don't get it, did you put an invisible string on your scythe?"

"Nope, a cool trick I picked up from someone." Akira lowered his blade.

Applauded by his fellow friends, the last of the Raishoun gang admitted defeat. Thus, the final sparring session ended.
