Five days have passed since the dawn of the apocalypse.
The once bustling, prosperous city have now become desolate and enveloped with negative energy. There are no passing hover cars nor walking and laughing people. The vibrant and colorful trees, shrubs, and flowers now have decayed and wilted, with the soil around them dry and cracked, adding to the sad scene .
Cars wrecks are everywhere. Instead of lively and breathing humans, corpses occupied the streets. The pleasant smell of trees, flowers,and the delicious scent of foods from various restaurants and stands are now replaced by the chocking smell of burning smoke and putrid smell of blood and decaying flesh.
The once clean streets are covered with debris and splash of blood and bloody bones and broken clothes and shoes .Zombies swarmed, howling every now and then as they dragged their broken,staggering bodies in search of fresh prey.
In a hidden corner of an alley, a small head slowly protruded. And above that head, another head also came out.
They are Lili and Alban.
Lili blinked as she solemnly looked at the swaying zombies. Her eyes turning dark as she took in the miserable sight of the victims.
The broken bones and the clothes scattered around and covered with blood are way too many, almost occupying the entire street as they are trampled underfoot by the zombies, the culprit of their mesirable situation.
Big flies buzzed over them as maggots crawled. Lili turned pale.
Even though she had already watched many gory films to vaccinate herself and she had killed many ferocious humongous animals as part of her training, she can't help but be afraid and nauseous when she was presented with such sights.
Not too mention the corpses of the eaten humans, the zombies themselves are not a pretty sight, with their bodies covered with wounds of varying degrees and oozing with black blood and pus and crawling maggots feasting on their rotten bodies. Ragged clothes hanged on their body and their mouths covered with fangs almost occupied their faces with black blood dripping from it. Their limbs elongated and twisted alarmingly, their hands have sharp claws with rotten flesh hanging on them.
Lili took a deep breathe to calm herself, regretting when she inhaled the bad air and stinky smell of the corpses and zombies.
She turned to look at her Big brother.
"Big brother, what are we gonna do now? I can't see any survivors."Lili said as she worriedly tugged at her brother's long sleeve.
Alban patted her hands to comfort her as he wrinkled his beautiful brows, his face stoic as he thought of their next course of actions.
Five days have passed since their parents passed away. Due to extreme grief they only have come out of the space five days later to leave and escaped the city.
Felicia and Aldrich's bodies have been cremated by Alban and was buried in the highest mountain top in Lili 's space. They had accompanied their parents in the mountain top for five days, forcing themselves to eat and drink as they tried to remain rational through the haze of grief that they have to maintain and take care of their bodies to survive the apocalypse. They know that they have to overcome it. Their parents are expecting them to be strong.
From that five days Alban and Lili have discovered and practiced their abilities. To their surprise, they found out that both of them have three abilities .
Lili have two of the main elements. The water and wood elements. Not only that, she also has mental ability. Although she can only act as a radar and 'see' her surroundings by a few meters, it is already a big help. Alban had assured her that when she upgraded her ability, she may comprehend the other use of it.
The water and wood ability may seem tasteless when faced with bloodthirsty zombies and mutated beasts and may seem useless, as they can only produce water to wash the face and a small seedling at first. But it is very useful and had it's own strength . None of the abilities are useless.
In the future, water and food will rely on those with water and wood abilities as going to be hard to grow food on the dry ground and the water is filled with violent energy that can destroy the bodies or directly turn anyone who drink it to turn into mindless zombies.
And when they go up on their cultivation, they are a big killer. So Lili was very pleased.
Alban was not surprised that he had the mental and thunder ability. But he was astonished to discover that he had the space ability. In the past life, he only had the two. Although he had the space given by his tattoo, it is only auxiliary at best and had no attacking power. His space ability can generate space blade and he had a very faint feeling that when he go up one level he can distort space and travel a short distance. In the future, he can act as a mutated space ability and hide his other ability with Lili to protect themselves and had those hidden abilities be their trump card.
Although Alban was very happy that they had many abilities ,there is a drawback. He knows that having so many means that it is very hard to upgrade compared to those who only have single abilities. But with hard work, not many can defeat a person with multiple abilities as they are just too strong in the later stage.
Alban is very confident in this regard as he already have experiences.
The two siblings have decided to come out of the space as they planned to leave the city before the week is out.
When their parents are still alive, they had planned to leave the city as early as two days after the apocalypse have began as Alban had said that a great earthquake with the intensity that will shake the whole world and will separate the whole continent and break down the walled cities and all buildings will occur.
They have been delayed and now must quickly leave the city so they can avoid the trouble of going through ruins and be exposed to the dangers of toppling buildings.
Lili spread her mental power to probe their surroundings as she waited for her brother's next decision.
To avoid the limelight and conceal themselves, They had decided to be as low-key as possible to protect themselves. They are strong as they have received training, but it is good to be cautious as there might be someone stronger than them.
They are not so arrogant to think that they are now very strong as they have obtained many abilities .Lowkey is king.
"If we can't find any, the we have no choice but to get out of the city by ourselves. "
Alban said. If there are no one that they can use to conceal themselves, then they have to bite the bullet and quickly leave the city.
The city is medium sized compared to the other cities on the continent,but it is also very big, housing more than 500 million residents. Using a hover car, they will reach one of the nearest gates in one hour, but it is when it it's still peaceful and there are no high dangers. They are sure that incidences of them meeting zombies and other variables are very high.
Lili and Alban tacitly glance at each other, then simultaneously jumped up a low wall and reduced their presence as they hide from the zombies. They can't kill a zombie as it will alarm other zombies, and they can't ride a hover car as it is very stupid as they will immediately be surrounded by zombies.
Imagining the tide of zombies numbering hundred of millions, Lili shuddered delicately.
The two of them swiftly and silently jumped up and over low the buildings as they ran. They hide when they see a zombie, then proceed. They are like ninjas.
Alban and Lili keep running for over half an hour without tiredness, as if used to it, until they reach a supermarket, which is one of the landmarks seen before they reach the nearest gate, which is known as the northeast gate.
They slow down, alertly looking everywhere as both spread their mental ability to comb the place. They paused, then swiftly hid behind car when three zombies came stumbling by.
Looking at the supermarket, it is estimated that there are hundreds of zombies around it, and they don't know how many there are inside the supermarket, maybe thousands, considering how big it is.
Lili and Alban squatted as they peek. Holding their breaths.
"Look! There are children! "A woman's voice shouted.
I don't know who stupidly screamed, but this scream alerted the zombies, turning into Alban and Lili's direction.
The both of them cursed loudly in their hearts,turning to glare dangerously at the building behind them.
The building is an apartment complex, with the glass windows and doors shut tightly and the windows covered with thick curtains and have about 30 floors.
In the third floor, a swaying curtain was seen, and from it the siblings saw faces plastered in it, looking at them.
Lili gritted her teeth. The one who shouted, she can tell that she has no good intention. With so many days after the beggining of the apocalypse, she is sure that almost,if not everyone already knows that sounds can attract the nearsighted zombies!
With her shouting and with them being outside without a cover, isn't that forcing them to die!
It's not even a week, but human hearts have already began to distort to show their true ugliness.
Alban squinted his eyes at the people. behind the window. He can see three men and a woman behind it, looking at him and Lili with glee, as if watching an entertaining show. His eyes flashed killing intent.
Lili gestured to Alban, without any choice, and within a second they rapidly retreats as zombies are already aware of their existence, roaring extedly at them when they smell their scent.
"Roooaaarrrr!! Roooaaarrrr!!"
Hundreds of zombies staggered after Lili and Alban. Alban took a look a look at the 4 malicious people as his eyes flashed coldly. While running, a gun equipped with silencer and special bullets that can penetrate through thick walls and bulletproof glass appeared in his hands.
In the horrified stares of the four, he skillfully raised the gun and fired at them, accurately planting a bullet in their heads. They died without resistance.
Lili just glance lightly at her brother,continuing to move forward as she seriously took out her gun and her tang sword. They have to quickly find a place to hide.
