He moved closer and raised his hand, ready to pat her head, but dropped it with a sigh. He sat on the edge of the headboard, watching the covered figure with remorse in his orbs.

Lila's sobs subsided a little. Her chest moved up and down, trying to gulp down as much air as possible. All the crying had her breathless.
