Maddox, freshly traumatized by what had transpired a few hours ago, was confronted with a moral dilemma: whether to trust his sister or his instincts about what she said. She showed complete confidence and showed no signs of lying to him that she had gone to school like any other day, when he knew for a fact that it was not true, as he had witnessed her having sex with someone in her room. However, she seemed to believe she had gone to school for some reason. He did not know what to believe unless she was trained to hide her subconscious signs of lying, which seemed unlikely. Thus, he required further investigation into what was happening in his home and what was hidden from what everyone did when he wasn't home.
"Sis, can I ask something personal before I answer?" Maddox asks, trying to dig for some information
"Ugh, fine, I will answer as long as you tell me what happened today, alright?" Elisa replies to his inquiry.
With a dead serious face, Maddox looks into his sister's eyes and asks, "Sis, have you ever had sex with anyone?"
"Eh? EH?!"
Elisa's face turns completely red. She did not expect anything like this from her baby brother, whom she had doted on and adored since he could walk.
"Why would you ask something like that?!" she screams out loud at him.
All the rooms in the house had insulated walls and were made soundproof, as their parents once again said it was for their protection and left it at that, so there wasn't a real need to worry about anyone hearing them. Still having witnessed what he just did, Maddox seemed to understand the reasoning behind it if his mother was a killer and his sisters were getting banged, however often it happens, since the people seemed to know each other, that is. Seeing his sister's genuine embarrassment at the question made him question his perception since he was getting conflicting answers about what was happening, leaving him more confused than ever.
"I- Uh... Wh- Erm..." His sister, however, was having trouble figuring out how to answer her brother, as the question she had never expected from her 13-year-old brother
While she was 18 and her sister was 19, they were both about to end their senior and sophomore year of high school soon, but things like sex and the proper health education did not come up until middle school, so hearing this from him, she was utterly shocked.
'I mean, he would be introduced to this stuff soon, and since father and mother would do nothing about teaching him, I guess it falls upon me and sis to help him with this kind of stuff,' Elisa thinks while holding her head in pain, trying to contemplate what was going on and think of a solution.
"Well... um... Maddox, before that, how did you learn about this in the first place?" Elisa asks, wanting to know who it was that was corrupting her little brother, only to not know that she was the one who had a hand in doing so.
"Some of the kids at school mentioned it"
Maddox knew that he had spouted this lie to his sister to keep what he knew safe. He did not know enough now and has to collect more information before doing anything.
"Oh really, then? What did they tell you about it then?" Elisa asks, wanting to know the depth of his knowledge.
"I know about the birds and the bees if that is what you want to know."
"Oh god..." Elisa mumbles lowly to herself.
"Although I do have one question, though," Maddox says, drawing his sister back.
"What is a uterus?" He asks, since he did not do an in-depth study of sex, he just looked up the act and did not have any idea of the miracle of child creation.
"Oh... well, I guess you can know then, but it is basically where the framework for babies is taken to the place they grow in the female body," She answers, albeit a bit hesitantly
Maddox's eyes go wide as he remembers what the person from before said about burning both Elisa's and his other sister's uteri, and he goes slightly pale as he learns of the implications of this.
"Sis... do you ever want kids?" Maddox asks, dreading the response, but he must know.
"Yes, I want to have as many kids as possible and give them much love just like I do to you!" Elisa responds happily, but is still uneasy about the whole string of questions.
"I... I see that. What about Aurora? Does she also want kids?" Maddox asks about his other sister.
"Um... I believe she does, but why are you asking about this?" Elisa asks Maddox, who feels as if his whole world is crumbling down before him, as he keeps getting devastated as he learns more and more
"Leave..." Maddox barely whispers
"What?"
"I said, leave. I am tired, but we can talk in the morning, okay?" Maddox says while getting up and heading to his bed, speaking in a monotone voice as if he has died inside and had his soul sucked out of him.
"Maddox, what is wrong? You can tell me; after all, I am your sister," Elisa says, distressed at what she sees happen to Maddox. She sits on his bed.
"I said in the morning, alright?" Maddox's only reply was as he huddled up in his blanket while Elisa looked at him, conflicted about what to do.
Eventually, she leaves and heads to her sister's room, where she reveals all that had transpired in Maddox's room, talks about his strange behavior, and voices her concerns to Aurora, the eldest sister of the siblings.
As Maddox lay in his bed, sleep seemed to elude him. Thus, he instead gets up and goes back to his trusty computer, where he pulls up the video from his hard drive and begins reluctantly reviewing what exactly had been happening in his home through the events he saw, as well as the footage from earlier in the day, to find more about what had happened. However, as he pulls up the video from before, he sees that only the parts that he had seen in the live camera, as well as the entrance of the 'guests', and nothing else, as if that time had been deleted, somehow with no traces of it to be found. Still, Maddox checks the time frame to see what has been there to replace the video footage. It looked as if the time when the people were over never happened, as the footage just showed his family members leaving as they usually do to go where they needed. In contrast, the rest of the footage was an empty house until his family returned.
Seeing this made Maddox more confused, so he just gave up on that end and did not want to see anything that happened before, which once again led him to search the internet to find answers to some questions. Still, though nothing was found even as he searched online into the early morning, trying to find some answers or even a hint of one, there seemed to be none online. Coming to closure on that, since he saw that school was about to start with him, he gets ready to leave, even though his mind is in turmoil. He believes it best to keep up appearances since his parents might catch on if he started acting up. In contrast, he did not know if they knew he would be wary of them for now.
School went by quickly, with no one inclined to do anything. The incident from the day prior made people feel out of it for the day, so everything flew by with nothing of importance or unusual happening. He returns home and enters his room without doing his usual routine of helping people around the neighborhood. Still, all the while attracting some concerned gazes from the people he knew as he walked back home since he did not help the day prior. It seemed like today was going to be the same as well. Still, while they were concerned for him, they knew that sticking their noses into whatever it was would not help since the boy's problem might be something none of them could help him with, so they could only watch on as he went home, and unless he specifically asked for help, they would not act.
Heading home, Maddox knew the people from before would probably be back, but he did not know when. So, deciding to do something about that, Maddox goes to his sisters once they get home from school and asks for their help in the matter of buying a new phone to use to get alerts when those people arrive and view the camera footage live to see everything that goes on in the house while he is away. At first, his sisters were confused about why Maddox said he wanted a new phone since his current one was not a newer model and was sufficient to complete his limited daily needs. So Maddox had to come up with an excuse that his current phone was acting up and that he wanted better service with a newer phone rather than the current one, which was partially true.
They spend the evening after dinner working on finding a new phone for Maddox together with both sisters, trying to see what was bothering him by trying to find glimpses of anything on his computer since he is forbidden from entering his sister's room as a result of his parents, of course. Still, the same did not apply to his sisters, so they could enter his room. Any footage of them hanging out together would always be scrubbed in the system by Maddox as he knew his parents did not want him to have any relationship with his sisters. Hell, if they could, they would make it so that he lived in a different home by himself, but since he was a minor, they could not make him live alone until he was 18.
The three of them find a phone that is within the budget of the sisters and will meet Maddox's requirements to keep an eye on his home while away, to learn more. Of course, Maddox was unsure of what to do once he learned the truth, as he had no idea where to turn since he was sure that these people had some unnatural powers, which would explain many things. Still, Maddox was sure that no one would believe him due to his age and the common belief that the supernatural did not exist. So, for now, he could only observe and record what was happening back home when he was not around, and those people came back.
With that, the three of them pay to get the box shipped to the house under the name of Elisa so their parents would not find out about Maddox receiving it from his sisters. The three of them did a lot of things together since their parents restricted Maddox's activities and the things he could do, breaking them added a nice thrill into their lives that they began to enjoy and bond over. Maddox thanked his sisters for helping him with the purchase before asking them to leave the room and do something else without him. This worried the two sisters since Maddox would never really ask them to leave his room right after helping him with something, as they would spend a little time together before leaving, or because their parents needed something from them.
Worry grew in their hearts as they suspected something had happened recently with Maddox, making him more distant. They did not know what it was or if they were the cause of it. All they could do now was hope that Maddox would come around and that whatever was causing his character change would soon remedy itself.
With Maddox ordering his phone now, he began to search once more for anything on the internet to make sense of what happened or what was going on in his family, with him staying on his computer until midnight, with the call of sleep drawing him away from his computer as his body needed rest for school. Crawling into bed, Maddox can only hope that somehow he finds a clue to what is happening soon so that he can think of what to do next and not have to worry about his safety and that of his sisters.
