Enjoy!
The goblin healer, Nurlig, was intense, to say the least, the moment I went into the intense healer's domain, she had me sit on a bed while she used various items to check me for something. And it looked like she found a lot more than she was expecting, judging by her facial expression. Goblins are weird dude, one second they're disgusted by Humans and then the next they're sympathetic towards the same guy?
I start with surprise as she curses, her intense gaze fixed upon my forehead, specifically, the scar on my forehead, looking at it with such loathness that I thought she would attack me.
The quill flying in the air behind her quickly notes something down and is then teleported by Nurlig to somewhere. She continued to use magic on me to find any other problems on my body besides malnourishment, and found several scars on the back.
"Belt?" she questions shortly, 'Figures she wouldn't make small talk, not like I would want to either.'
"Belt." I reaffirm, hoping she doesn't ask anymore questions, she gets the hint and refrains from asking any more questions.
For all of 5 seconds.
"Do you experience any pain, specifically around your scar?"
"Nothing of the sort, no, at least not yet. Why?" Even though I have entered my mindscape, I have yet to venture in too far, specifically near the area around my scar as it reeks of dark magic, though it is covered by the thickest layer of my magic to keep it isolated, without my control over it, like my magic was fighting it off all this time.
"We will speak about that at the end." she hesitates, hoping to avoid the topic, yet hoping to address the topic as well.
"Are we done yet?" I ask, already tired of the healer's office, nobody likes to go to the doctors.
"Almost, I will just have to check your eyes and then give you the proper medication." she said calmly, done with every other part of the examination. Once she is done checking my eyesight she speaks once again."Your eyesight can be fixed easily, now, there are two methods to do this, one is instant but a little painful, the other is painless yet slow."
"How slow are we talking about?" I don't care if it is painful, the sooner I get my eyesight fixed the better, of course I will still go for the painless version if it is like a year, but I won't get my hopes up. "It takes exactly 137 days of taking medication at a 26 day interval to heal properly." That's good, just under 4.5 months, much lower than expected.
"I will choose the slower method" I speak, I will have to hide the medication from the Dursleys but that should be child's play considering they have the observational skills of an elephant trying to find an ant. That leaves the eyesight work done with, now onto my malnourishment and the scar issue.
"For the abuse to get fixed completely, you will have to go under a magical operation and drink the potions we assign you for 6 months, 2 vials every month. And to the final topic… the scar on your forehead contains traces of dark magic." Panic set on my face, an act of course "Dark magic? That's evil right? How is it there? I haven't ever used magic before!" I act scared out of my wits about the possibility of having dark magic inside of me.
"It is most probably from Voldemort, the wizard who killed your parents-" "Wait they were killed?!" I speak with the most heart-broken voice I could muster, sympathy points can only be good for you. She pauses for a moment and then continues, "-mostly referred to as You-Know-Who by your kind as during the war there was a taboo on his name, whenever you spoke it, it would create a link between you and him and reveal your location to him and his army, so I suggest you do not speak his name in public." The Voldemort name taboo thing was new to me, very interesting too, maybe I can create something similar and know when specific people are talking about me.
"Alright, I will tell you of the events of your life until you left the wizarding world" She starts to explain to me the whole back story, I listen attentively, trying to find any deviations from the original timeline yet I couldn't find any, except for me not being a clueless little shit of course.
"So, somehow I survived the killing curse and killed this Voldemort?"
That is what everyone believes, but if I am right about your scar, he may yet still be alive."
"Why do you think he might still be alive? Will he come after me again?!" The right amount of panic. Check. The right amount of desperation. Check. The right amount of fear. Check.
"I suspect he might still be alive as your scar contains a large amount of his magical signature, and I have suspicions about the kind of technique he used to achieve it. I do not believe he will go after you as soon as possible, he will have to regain his strength first." She speaks, solemn as she can get.
"You sound really unconcerned about this evil wizard, why is that?" I was actually very curious as to the reason, was she not at all concerned about a possible upcoming war?
"We goblins do not care about the issues of Wizard kind, we will of course protect ourself and retaliate against any attacks on us." I make a sound of understanding as if I care about what happens to them.
"Now, to remove the dark magic from your forehead, we will need to prepare a ritual, it will take around 1 year to set it up." That is good and bad, the good thing is, even though it is Voldemort's soul piece, it is still 6 times split from the original and thus weaker than the original. Which brings me benefits that will be discussed later. The bad thing about this whole ordeal is, I have a piece of a fucking soul inside me!
Now, the operation for the malnourishment, she led me to an operation room and told me to lay down on the bed, after doing so, she used a sleep spell on me and I went under.
Waking up with a killer headache with your body feeling weird wasn't a novel experience at all, my body felt lighter yet heavier at the same time. My magic felt lighter, as if lifted from a heavy burden. "Ah, you're finally awake! The operation went as well as it could be expected and you just have to drink your potions at a regular interval without ever missing a day." She said it! She said it! She said the thing!
"You might notice some difference in your magic, it is mostly common in abused children, but your magic is working more efficiently than other cases I've seen before, it has been working on overload to keep you alive all this time, so while the experience you had wasn't a good one, you did gain some benefits from it. You will heal faster than others and will notice it getting stronger as you are healed, you will have more potent magic as it was continuously being used all this time and will also have larger reserves than others your age, maybe even some adults."
"Here is a potion for your headache. You may wear your clothes and wait in Burdock's office, your potions will be sent to you in a while."
The door swings open the moment I near Burdock's office, I enter and take a seat, the headache still giving me phantom pains.
"From what I received, I see that everything went well."
"Yes, everything went well, I'm just here waiting for the medication to arrive, then I will go do some shopping." I said, already wanting to just sleep for the whole day, but I know how rare a chance to come here would be. It was still just around 3:00 PM and I had to return by 5:30 and wait for them to arrive, I had already completed my chores for the day, using magic to complete them faster.
At that moment, the door swung open again, this time a new goblin appeared, bringing a bag with him."Your potions are kept in this pouch drink the green potions for your eyesight and the red one for your body, drink one of the green ones every 26 days, and drink the red one at every 7th and 21st of every month. It is a full batch and if you use them properly, you will not need to come here again."
"Okay, I just need to withdraw some money now"
