The three of them continued walking through the market area, heading towards the harbor.
From the corner of Ardyn's eye, he spotted a few men who looked like soldiers based on their attire. He reached out and tapped Luke on the shoulder, and Luke followed his gaze.
"Got it. We'll just slowly move away from that direction," Luke whispered, loud enough for only the two of them to hear. "Don't look their way, or they might catch us acting suspicious."
Leon nodded.
"Why do you sound used to things like this…" Ardyn muttered under his breath, though he nodded as well.
The three of them continued walking normally, as if nothing had just happened. However, their trajectory shifted slightly to move farther away from where the soldiers were slowly grouping up. A subtle transition that, fortunately, went unnoticed.
"Should we split up?" Leon asked quietly, his tone lowered just enough for only the other two to hear.
