"Argh!" Arkalon instinctively raised his hand to shield himself from the scorching light and overwhelming heat of the star that had suddenly appeared overhead. "Oh..." But only a moment later, he slowly lowered his hand again. "What exactly am I doing? I'm merely a soul creature."
Then he shifted his attention back toward the battlefield.
Toward the horrifying war where living and dead space beasts were endlessly tearing each other apart.
The number of living beasts continued decreasing at a steady pace, which constantly increased the amount of guarding corpses under Arkalon's control.
Yet at the same time, the corpses themselves were continuously being vaporized beneath the relentless attacks of the surrounding beasts, maintaining a strange and fragile balance throughout the battlefield.
But that balance was not truly satisfying to Arkalon.
