Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: YUM!

"Alfred?" yelled Helia loudly while coming down the stairs right in front of the door.

"Yea, now you won't be complaining to me every time about how Alfred forgot about you when he moved out and endlessly pester me about contacting him to visit"

"Do you want to starve you little sh*t!?" she replied angrily while blushing a bit.

"Oof... better be quiet now" murmured Jiemes to his friend.

Alfred simply rolled his eyes at their play. He was used to their bickering since childhood, and it did not seem to have changed while he was gone.

Though they always fight, with one time ending up with cats flying and dogs barking, they always end up reconciling and doing whatever together. After all, they still live with their parents and no matter what threats they throw at each other, they end up doing the opposite. Thus, he concluded that these siblings were tsunderes.

"Hey Helia, long time no see, sorry that I haven't visited you guys much since leaving" he said embarrassingly while scratching his cheek.

"Alf, don't feel sorry about that, we know how busy you got, it's fine as long as you're here now" she replied smilingly.

Helia's was wearing simple everyday cute pajamas, these ones with rabbits nibbling carrots on them, and while smiling, her eyes seemed to shine and Alfred just stared with a blank face. "Cute" he thought.

Jiemes didn't notice his friend zoning out since he was already walking towards the kitchen, "Sis, didn't you say you were gonna cook some 3 stars chef food if Alfred gets here?"

Helia rolled her eyes, "that idiot only thinks of his stomach, come Alf, I'll show you how good my cooking got and you'll regret ever moving out" She smiled, and moved towards the kitchen. "Jiemes, you do the cutting, I'll do the cooking"

"Sure" he then expertly took out the cooking utensils and started his work.

Alfred wanted to help but Helia shooed him away "today, you're the guest, so go sit and watch some TV or something." So he went to the living room and opened up the news.

"-ricane is hitting the East coast in about a week, so for those living there, please prepare an appropriate amount of food to lessen the need to get out the following week. Please follow all evacuation notices and directives which the government would announce after studying the severity of the storm. Please do not ignore these warnings. Now back to you Manders" the blond haired news anchor passed the live feed to other reporters on scene, she seemed nervous regarding this storm, though it was of no surprise why.

Following the snowballing global warming, hurricanes became an almost common occurrence, as for their severity, it kept on increasing, sometimes becoming level 5s, which brought great destruction to many coastal cities.

These former luxurious cities lost their appeal to the rich, thus ironically becoming empty of capital, which lowered the prices of housing, and lead many to take the risk to live there, to save money. The cities became dilapidated, with even insurance companies not daring to take the risk without foretelling great profit.

Inland cities became the new paradise of the rich, and the poor were driven out of the increasingly expensive prices.

Alfred was blankly listening to the news anchors, though a bit glad that they were kind of far from the coast, so they would not have to suffer as much.

"Alfred" called Jiemes, "the food is ready."

Then he started to smell the delicious scent wafting in the air. "Coming!" he turned off the TV, got up, and went to the table to eat with his childhood friends. They had a lot of catching up to do.
