The tension in the air is at its peak, especially with Amon going out of his way to mess with Wadjit.
Most do not understand why Amon is making a scene and creating unnecessary enmity between himself and Wadjit, but the smart ones in the crowd know.
They are sharks, and they can smell the blood in the waters, but as for whose blood it is, they are not yet sure.
Amon is, of course, going on the offensive, but his opponent is Wadjit, and these people are very familiar with this sly, cunning old man; he didn't just grow rich and old by being a decent businessman.
They know just how many people he has stabbed in the back and how many lives he has sacrificed for gains.
So right now, the only thing they can do is watch and see how this unfolds, because if Amon really is capable enough to bleed Wadjit, then with them being the sharks they are, they are ready to take some chunks off Wadjit to help Amon take him down.
Because whenever a big fish dies, it's a feast for the whole pond.
