"You dare think that I'm someone who is so weak or desperate that I wouldn't be able to get someone, especially someone like Sinyster by any other means than by having to kidnap you in hopes that I'd be able to get you to betray her? You dare think of me as a lowly demon, That I'd seek brownie points and entertain anyone in hopes that it'd help me to get what I wanted!?" Vishious growled angrily at her. He took a step towards her, his eyes glaring down at her as he continued speaking, " You dare think that Sinyster could ever be that special or important to me that I'd need to accommodate someone if I did in fact, view you as nothing more than a prisoner, or a pawn, to use to help me get someone like her!? If all I wanted from you was to get information, trust me My Little Dove, you wouldn't be able to put up any kind of resistance against me and I sure as Hell wouldn't have you living in such luxury! And you wouldn't be staying in my palace, but kept in the dungeon, wishing death would come take you!" Vishious said coldly as his massive body towered over her as he stood, hardly allowing any space in between them as he finished speaking.
He felt like he was going to snap. 'Why does she look at me with such fear in her eyes? Why does she keep trying to back away from me, like she doesn't want me to be close to her?' Vishious angrily and irritatingly thought to himself in his mind. His mind wouldn't stop racing with all kinds of thoughts of what it was that he was believing her thoughts and feelings towards him were, and it was really pissing him off.
'Does she really believe I view her as nothing more than an easy disposal and whom I plan on killing?!' Vishious never thought that it'd be possible for him to get affected by someone's words like this.
He wasn't one to have ever cared what anyone thought or felt towards him but he was also someone who no one ever dared to say anything to, unless he gave them permission and allowed them to. Everyone knew better than to say a word or even look at him unless he gave them permission to do so first . He would never hesitate to kill those stupid enough to try and right now this woman before him had managed to somehow do everything that he would never allow anyone to ever get away with.
And if he could stop and be more rational at this point he would've been able to guess that the reason why he was getting so upset right now was because it infuriated him to hear how it really was from her. Yes, he had kidnapped her and left her in that room but didn't she see how he had been making things better for her? How he spoiled her and didn't she see how much he enjoyed having her here and wanted to show her every place that he Ruled over? To think that this beauty was letting him know that she would never allow him to get close to her and thought of him as nothing more than a monster who had kidnapped her and was keeping her here against her will, and all she wanted was to leave, angered him. He knew there would be absolutely no way that he would let her leave him.
Noticing how Payne was breathing hard and could hear how fast her heart was racing as she stood staring at him with wide fearful eyes that showed how she just wanted to be able to turn and run away from him, he decided it'd be best to leave and allow her to have some space away from him for a little while, but not too much space and not for too long would he let her be away from him.
"Im gonna cut our time together short. I have to go and finish taking care of a couple loose ends that need my attention but when I return be ready to Come with Me," Vishious was trying hard to calm his composure towards her. He didn't want to make Payne become afraid of him where he would have to force her presence with him. Even though he would if she gave him no other choice for her to be with him. But he needed to leave so he could calm himself down.
"Where?" Payne asked interrupting what was going on in Vishious' head. Her voice came out breathy.
"Just be ready when I return," Vishious said fighting the urge to put his hands on her and taste her lips.
"Y-yes, Master Vishious. I'll be ready to go with you when you return." Payne said a little shyly. They then just stood there for a moment, neither one saying another word. Payne was waiting for Vishious to turn and start walking back in the direction that they had previously walked from, expecting that he would be taking her back to the room that her aquarium was kept in.
For she knew that she wouldn't just be left to wander around aimlessly on her own after all, but it surprised her and she wasn't expecting to hear Vishious instead call out, " Kreeper! Dyre!"
Vishious then looked away from Payne and turned away from her, now facing two men who were walking towards them in black robes that completely covered their bodies and their hoods completely hiding their faces from view. Once they got right in front of where Vishious stood they both stopped and knelt down before him on one knee with their heads bowed.
They both spoke in unison saying, "Yes, Our Lord," Not lifting their heads up as they weren't given permission to do so yet.
"I'll leave you two in charge of making sure that My Little Dove gets to her room and that no one disturbs her." Vishious ordered the two men who were still kneeling down before him. He then brought his hand forward and did a rising motion with his hand, letting them know that they could now stand up right.
"Yes, Our Lord", They again said together. Bowing their heads deeply at Vishious as they spoke to him. Vishious then turned back once again to look at Payne, his expression he held on his face was blank, not letting one guess what it was that he was thinking and without another word spoken to anyone black , thick smokey shadows started to wrap around him until suddenly he disappeared and was gone.
Leaving Payne with the two men who he had ordered to accompany her back to her room that she was kept in. She numbly was escorted with her head lowered as she walked with them. One of the men led the way, walking in front of her and the other walked a few steps behind her. She was almost unable to contain this overwhelming sadness that she was suddenly felt as soon as Vishious had disappeared.
At this moment She wanted to cry, but she was determined to hold on to the last little bit of dignity that she felt she had left, at least until she reached her room and was left alone. She didn't want to cry when she was in the company of Vishious' men and knew If it hadn't been for them being there when Vishious had left she would've broken down into tears at that very moment but she kept her composure and didn't allow her vulnerability to show.
Kreeper nor Dyre spoke a word to her or even look at her once the entire time that they walked with her. Upon reaching the room, the one who had been leading the way opened one of the large doors. He then just stood there holding it opened, waiting for her to continue to walk inside but noticing her to just continue standing there the one holding the door opened turned its head to look at her and Payne noticed how the eyes glowed freen within the hood.
Those glowing green eyes made her stomach turn in uneasiness and a loud gulping noise betraying her as she swallowed, still frozen in place. The brief undisturbed silence that suddenly had engulfed them was interrupted by a voice that was just mere inches behind her, "Step inside." Was all that was said to her, but the voice made Payne's blood run cold hearing it. The voice was low, almost a whisper but it's ominous, wicked tone made it to where the air in Payne's lungs got stuck as she inhaled and her legs shook so violently that her knees nearly buckled under her. Her eyes snapped open wide and for a brief second that seem to drag on for what felt like several minutes, she was absolutely consumed by the most horrible feeling of dread and horror.
The one who had its glowing green eyes locked on her turned its head to face the door that it was still holding open for her and mustering up everything she had in her she slowly started walking forward to enter inside the room. Payne had expected them to say something to her before they left but once inside the door was immediately shut behind her and she could hear it being locked.
**************
Payne brought herself out of her thoughts and back to the present. She was still sitting at the edge of the tank.
She then plunged herself into the dark waters and began swimming without having any specific place in mind as to where she was swimming to. She was just trying hard to keep her mind from thinking anymore about Lord Vishious, this place she was being kept, Vishious' men, or about Sinyster.
She kept finding herself absent-mindedly swimming towards the glass at the front of the aquarium, as if hoping that she'd see Lord Vishious standing in front of the glass looking at her, waiting for her to approach like he so often did.
But after a long, long time, Payne gave up in expecting that he'd come to see her and she finally swam up to the surface of the tank and then she proceeded to swim over to the stone stairs.
She pulled herself up onto the stone steps, exiting the water and pushing herself up to sit at the top and lifting her long beautiful fish tail to lay on the stone, so she would fully dry. Once she was dried completely and her tail was replaced again with two legs, she stood and turned to start walking down the spiral stairs that went down the side of the giant tank. She walked to the front of the tank and stopped once she was there, she slumped back, her back pressing up against the glass and her head drooped down and her shoulders sagged.
She had never come out of the water, only coming out when it was time for her to eat and then promptly returning back into the water right after. Why did she long to be out of the water and rather wanted to be out walking around with her legs and not swimming with her tail?
Right now she felt like she was in a fog, everything seemed to be hazy around her, not having any colors or focus. Just shadows seemed to surround her and even the bright black-green flames from the torches that hung on the walls to light up the room, seemed to be burning dull.
Payne just stared at the floor in front of her for a while before she slowly lifted her head up to stare at the empty large space before her, unmoving, unblinking, even her breathing came out shallow. The sturdy glass in which her back was leaned up against was the only thing that was helping support her and keeping her on her feet right now.
She did not even realize when it was that she started crying. Faint sounds of her sobbing reached her ears and her beautiful eyes were now streaming with tears that ran down her face. Her delicate face was framed by her long, wet, messy locks of hair that cascaded down her shoulders and back.
Slowly she started sliding down the glass, losing the last little strength she had left to keep herself standing, coming to sit on the cold marble floor, she wept and her chest hurt and felt extremely heavy. Her body trembled with each sob that she took.
