"Hiiii!"

The horses neighed, their cries piercing the night as the mounted soldiers let out a thunderous war cry, charging toward the mass of monsters. Elias, at the head of the squadron, unleashed a second wave of flames, burning countless creatures once again in their path.

The fateful moment had come. The two forces collided with unimaginable violence. The enraged monsters attacked relentlessly, wounding several horses and throwing their riders to the ground. The first clashes of swords rang out in a metallic uproar, as the soldiers fought with desperate bravery against the swarming hordes.

The plains had turned into a true battlefield—a maelstrom of chaos and carnage. Archers, still stationed on the walls, rained arrows down without pause, each volley briefly illuminating the dark sky. Enchanted arrows pierced through the ranks of monsters, adding to the confusion and bloodshed.

In the midst of the melee, Elias fought with unmatched ferocity. His flaming sword sliced and burned through the creatures, each strike delivered with deadly precision. He knew that every second bought meant more civilians could escape the city in safety.

"Men, hold the line!" he shouted, his voice thundering above the din. "Don't let these abominations advance another step!"

Before the eyes of his soldiers, Elias fought with exceptional courage, inspiring all who followed him into the fray. Monsters fell one after another, unable to withstand his relentless assault.

"For the city!" Elias roared, his voice rising above the chaos. His men, galvanized by his resolve, answered with a war cry of their own and redoubled their efforts. They fought shoulder to shoulder with their commander, forming a human bulwark against the monstrous tide.

The clash of steel, the whinnies of horses, the war cries, and the roars of the beasts blended into a chaotic symphony. Elias cleaved the air with his flaming blade, each swing delivered with devastating force. The monsters recoiled, terrified by the incandescent fury of his weapon and the unyielding will of the man wielding it.

Yet death among the soldiers was inevitable. Several men found themselves overwhelmed by the monsters, encircled on all sides, the certainty of death pressing upon them. Some had their heads torn off, others lost their limbs—arms or legs ripped away. For many, the end was far more gruesome.

"We're surrounded, this is the end…" whimpered a soldier, his eyes filled with terror.

"No, don't say that, we still have a chan" tried another.

But he couldn't even finish his sentence before two spikes pierced through his eyes. His body was lifted into the air by a monstrous arachnid, under the horrified gaze of his comrades. As his body convulsed in pain and fear, the arachnid sliced him in two, spilling his entrails onto the ground in a pool of blood and gore.

The soldiers were dying one by one, each in equally horrific fashion. Some were devoured alive, their screams of agony echoing through the night.

"Ahhhh, nooo, noo!" cried a soldier, his abdomen torn open as the monsters calmly feasted on his entrails.

He was still conscious, forced to watch his own slow and excruciating death, powerless to defend himself or flee. Elias, at the heart of the melee, watched his men fall all around him, drowned by the relentless tide of creatures. His heart clenched with grief and rage, but he knew he couldn't afford to falter. Every second bought was another chance for the townsfolk to escape.

"Hold the line!" Elias roared as death swept over his men in droves.

Surrounded himself by feral beasts, Elias now faced black wolves, each three times the size of a man. The first wolf, ravenous, lunged at him with devastating ferocity.

"You're far too impatient!" he shouted, cleaving the wolf's head clean off.

The severed head rolled across the ground in a gush of blood, painting a macabre scene. Enraged by the death of their kin, all the wolves pounced on him at once, determined not to repeat the same mistake.

"Fire Lance!" Elias roared.

Pillars of fire erupted from the ground, impaling the trapped wolves, rendering them immobile.

"Explosion!" he cast immediately.

Flames erupted inside the wolves' bodies, burning them from within and killing them instantly. The victory was short-lived, however. Other monsters had already filled the void left by the wolves, surrounding Elias once again.

Despite the fear gripping their hearts, his men continued to face death with desperate courage.

"I'm waiting for you come on!" Elias challenged, his flaming sword blazing brighter than ever.

Provoked by his defiance, the monsters hurled themselves at him with renewed savagery. Unfazed, Elias swung his blade with deadly precision, fighting with the strength of a man who refused to yield, determined to protect those he loved.

Ash began to fall gently from the sky. Carried by a heavy wind, the cinders danced in the air—then, without warning, they ignited.

An invisible inferno, born from the heavens themselves, set ablaze every particle. The monsters screamed as their flesh burned, consumed like worthless paper tossed into a fire. No scream lasted more than an instant; the heat devoured them mercilessly, like divine judgment.

Then the cinders converged, forming a massive tornado of ashen fire—born of a single man's power and will—sweeping across the battlefield. Everything was obliterated: the ground cracked open, and the monsters were reduced to nothing in an incandescent blaze.

Royal Capital.

The night over the capital was calm, the royal castle bathed in peaceful silence. Suddenly, this calm was shattered by rapid, urgent knocks at the royal chamber door.

"My King! My King!" someone cried, pounding insistently.

"What is it you want at this hour, damn it!" the king growled, opening the door, visibly furious at being woken in the middle of the night.

"Forgive me for disturbing you, but the situation is urgent! One of our cities is under attack by an army of monsters!" announced the messenger, breathless and grave.

"You should have said so sooner! Summon General Zem immediately!" the king ordered, his face hardening at the alarming news.

"Yes, Your Majesty!" replied the messenger before sprinting down the corridors.

In an instant, the castle erupted into action. The hallways, usually silent at this hour, filled with the frantic movements of servants and soldiers. The entire capital army was summoned as quickly as possible. Soldiers donned their armor and seized their weapons, preparing their mounts with palpable urgency.

Meanwhile, Zem, the king, and several generals gathered in the war room for an emergency council. The reports were grim, and every second counted.

City of Níre.

"Infernal Wave!" Elias roared.

Flames slowly seeped from his body, spreading across the ground before gathering into an immense surge of fire. The attack, resembling a literal tsunami of flames, rose over 15 meters high before crashing down upon the monsters, incinerating them instantly.

"Come on, soldiers, forward!" he shouted.

Without the slightest hesitation, the soldiers charged down the fiery path created by their commander. Despite losing many comrades, they pressed on, their numbers already cut in half. Another wave of flames crashed down upon the monsters, who seemed to falter under the relentless onslaught. The soldiers, galvanized by Elias's overwhelming power, regained hope that they could hold out until reinforcements arrived.

The men hurled themselves at the monsters with renewed ferocity, striking with swords and spears in a desperate flurry. Their war cries and the clash of steel echoed across the battlefield, their shared determination merging into an unstoppable surge.

However, as the soldiers pushed deeper into the newly opened breach, a series of colossal lightning bolts ripped through the sky. Soldiers were struck instantly, collapsing lifelessly to the ground, their bodies charred and smoking.

"What just happened?!" Elias cried out, both stunned and horrified by the scene.

His eyes darted frantically across the battlefield, searching for the source of the devastating lightning.

The surviving soldiers began to tremble, their swords slipping from their hands as they abandoned all hope.

A Lich, clad in a tattered black robe, with terrifying violet eyes glowing like cursed flames, made its appearance on the battlefield.

As another volley of arrows was about to rain down upon the monsters, the Lich raised its skeletal hands toward the sky. A bolt of lightning struck, obliterating all the arrows mid-flight.

Then, with a majestic and sinister gesture, the Lich turned toward the source of the arrows. Suddenly, bolts of lightning crashed down upon the ramparts, striking the archers and killing them instantly. In a fraction of a second, any remaining hope of resistance seemed annihilated. Until now, they might have been able to hold out until reinforcements arrived, but now the situation appeared utterly hopeless.

Only three hundred soldiers remained out of the original eight hundred, facing not just an army of monsters but now also a dreadful new foe. The soldiers knew they would die here, on this plain that would become their grave.

At that moment, Elias turned to them. His face was solemn, but his eyes still burned with fierce determination.

"Go. I'll handle the rest," Elias declared firmly.

"No way!" shouted a soldier, his face a mix of fear and indignation.

"That wasn't a request. It was an order!" Elias replied, his voice resounding with undeniable authority.

"But sir…" the soldier stammered, tears welling in his eyes.

"Whether you stay or leave, it won't change the outcome," Elias explained, his piercing gaze meeting each of his men's eyes. "All you'll do is waste your lives in a battle already lost. And besides, I'm going to give it everything I have to hold them off you could end up dying inadvertently from my own attacks. It's better for you to leave and save your lives."

Elias then gave them a wide, warm smile, full of pride. The soldiers' faces tightened with shame, feeling powerless, unable to follow their captain with honor into death.

The soldiers lined up and gave him a military salute, their synchronized movements a testament to their respect and devotion. Together, in one voice, they spoke a final tribute:

"It was an honor to serve under your command all these years, sir!" they cried, voices choked with emotion.

"It was also an honor for me to fight alongside men willing to give everything to fulfill their duty," Elias replied, his voice heavy with emotion.

Though reluctant to leave their captain behind, they knew it was the best decision. With heavy hearts and tears in their eyes, they began to run in the opposite direction, carrying the burden of having to abandon him. Some monsters immediately gave chase, but they were instantly reduced to ashes by the flames erupting around Elias.

"You won't lay a finger on a single one of my men again!" Elias roared.

A massive flame enveloped his body, burning brightly in the night.

Defensive Flame: A fire envelops the user, reducing all incoming damage by 25%.

Flaming Boost: All fire-element attacks are increased by 20%.

Multiple waves of fire, larger and more intense than before, began surging toward the monsters. The fiery waves, towering over twenty meters high, crashed down upon the creatures, incinerating them without mercy. Flaming spears burst from the ground, impaling the monsters and burning them from within. Even the fiercest of the creatures recoiled before this terrifying display of power.

As the waves of fire continued to pour over the battlefield, a sinister figure emerged from the darkness. The Lich, clad in its tattered black robe, stepped forward with deliberate resolve, while all the other monsters recoiled in fear. Its glowing, malevolent eyes surveyed the battlefield with dark authority.

A black mist seeped from the Lich's body, spreading across the ground like a tide of shadows. Wherever it passed, the corpses of fallen monsters and fallen soldiers began to stir, animated by a malevolent force. The eyes of the dead lit up with a ghostly glow as they rose, ready to obey the Lich's will.

"Necromancy, you bastard!" Elias roared, his eyes blazing with fury.

The newly risen undead rushed toward him, their decayed bodies moving with a sinister, unnatural gait. Without hesitation, Elias unleashed another barrage of flames, incinerating the creatures. But to his horror, they continued advancing, even as the fire devoured their flesh.

"If that's how it is, then I'll burn you until there's nothing left of your bodies," Elias declared with fierce resolve.

The flames suddenly intensified, reducing the undead to piles of ash. The Lich responded with a rain of lightning bolts upon Elias, who endured the relentless strikes while still fighting both the undead and the living monsters. He severed the heads of spiders, burned wolves alive, and spilled the entrails of twisted abominations onto the blood-soaked ground, his fury unrelenting.

But the battle dragged on, and Elias's strength and endurance began to fade. After long, grueling minutes of cutting and burning through monsters, his body started to waver. His mana was nearly depleted; he was fighting alone in a hopeless struggle. His body was riddled with wounds, and his once-proud armor was now shattered and blood-soaked. His helmet had been completely destroyed during the fight.

The protective flame that had reduced the damage he suffered was now fading. It was then that an attack from the Lich finally pierced his body through and through. Black spikes impaled him, leaving gaping holes in his already battered frame. He collapsed to his knees, his sword the only thing keeping him from falling completely.

The monsters advanced to finish him off, but the Lich let out a chilling screech, and all the creatures froze before retreating, leaving Elias alone. With great effort, he lifted his head to look at the Lich, pain and confusion evident in his eyes.

"What are you waiting for… finish me…" Elias murmured, his gaze still defiant despite the agony and exhaustion.

At these words, the Lich raised its hand. A fireball began to grow rapidly in its palm until it became massive a gigantic sphere of molten fire now floated above the Lich's head, held aloft by a single skeletal hand.

"No, don't do it… don't!" Elias begged, a chilling terror creeping into his heart.

He could hear the Lich's sinister laughter clearly, a sound that froze his blood. Without the slightest remorse, the Lich hurled the fireball toward the city, under Elias's powerless gaze.

Upon impact, a massive shockwave obliterated and burned the entire city. Those who had fallen behind during the evacuation, or anyone still within the city walls, were inevitably reduced to ashes. Even Elias's fleeing men were likely caught in the explosion. He let out a cry of utter despair, a soul-shattering scream that seemed to please the Lich.

Believing it had broken him mentally, the Lich prepared to savor its victory. But suddenly, an immense flame erupted from Elias's body. Struggling to his feet, he brandished his sword. His battered armor and bloodied body trembled, but his indomitable spirit burned brighter than ever.

A suit of knight's armor made entirely of flames materialized around him, shining like the sun.

"Last Flame!" Elias roared, his voice resounding with unyielding determination.

Last Flame: You consume all of your mana and even your own lifespan. In exchange, the power of your fire-element attacks is multiplied by five.

For the final time, fire spread across the battlefield, casting an intense and otherworldly glow. The flames gathered, forming a colossal wave over a hundred meters high, illuminating the night with incandescent brilliance.

"Mommy, look!" said a young girl, her eyes wide with awe at the breathtaking spectacle.

Even the fleeing crowd stopped momentarily, captivated by the majestic wave of fire shining like a thousand suns. The heat was so intense that even those far away could feel it. The light of the flames reflected in every witness's eyes, etching this moment into their memory forever.

Elias, arm raised high, trembling and blood-soaked, held the fiery wave aloft, facing the monsters with a proud, unwavering gaze.

"Goodbye… my loves," he murmured, tears filling his eyes as he thought of those he sought to protect.

With one final effort, Elias lowered his arm, and the massive wave of flames surged forward, sweeping over everything in its path. The wall of fire crashed down with unimaginable power, engulfing all before it. The monsters, helpless before this ultimate display of strength, were incinerated instantly, their screams of agony lost within the deafening roar of the flames.
