Chapter 3 - Reckless Hunt

Today was the day. The in game events have just started, and many players are grinding away and pushing themselves to beat the formidable new bosses. Some players have entered with teams while some have gone completely solo, to show off their magnificent skills.

"Look out!" said Ryun.

The raging beast charged proudly through the rock filled battlefield, in the direction of the warriors with its towering presence.

The beast had bull horns and the face of a lion, wearing a cone shaped straw hat on it's head, and two long katanas in hand; Equipped with a great white kimono for armor.

"We've only been fighting for 10 minutes and half the team is gone." Ryun thought. "We started with 10 players and now we're down to 5."

The beast had a deadly passive skill, called "Wild Hunt", which we should have taken into account from the beginning.

"System, search skill; Wild Hunt". said Ryun.

[Wild Hunt]

[Wild Hunt is a passive skill. This skill gives the user 1.5x movement and attack speed. After the user has attacked 100 times, this skill becomes Reckless Hunt.]

Forget whatever Wild Hunt does, I just don't want it to become Reckless Hunt.

I wish there was something more I could do, but I have to keep charging my skill, my favorite skill in the entire game: "Headshot". It's one of the most OP (over powered) skills in the game. Why? Because it instantly downs an opponent if it hits, regardless of any armor.

The boss is wearing high class empowered armor. Empowered armor gets bonuses that regular armor doesn't. The boss's armor has a total of 2000hp (health points or hit points), and the empowerment bonus gives it the ability to re-stacks 200 armor every 30 seconds.

If that wasn't bad enough, most of the players on our team have slow casting skills and are running out of stamina to keep casting their skills. Less hits, means more armor restacking.

Right now only two warrior classes are battling the boss while one healer tries to keep them both alive.

All I've got is a Shielder class closely protecting me and the healer. If I get hit once, my skill will cancel. The "Headshot" skill can only be used once and counts as being used; even if canceled.

Until my skill activates, I have to stand in place aiming my 44 magnum at the boss. The devs (developers) of the game made the timing of the "Headshot" skill fluctuate to mess with the players, so I don't know if I'll be able to get it off in time anyways.

The most stressful part isn't having my movement restricted, but aiming the gun well. The boss is too far for me to aim with a magnum, getting the shot in at this distance; is near impossible.

Fortunately, we already have the backup plan in motion.

When my skill finishes charging, the Shielder will use his "Taunt" skill. "Taunt" is an exclusive skill only available to the Shielder class. Taunt causes nearby enemies to ignore other players and lock onto the player using the Taunt skill. Taunt only lasts for 15 seconds and has a 30 second cooldown.

After the Shielder uses Taunt, and distracts the boss, I'll quickly close in on the boss. At 3 meters range my passive skill will activate, the passive skill; "Point Blank", which gives me a 100% hit rate chance limited to a 3 meters distance.

It's a smart, but reckless tactic; which puts the boss in close enough range for it to hit me and cancel the skill. Overpowered skills are some of the hardest skills to use in the game.

The warrior class players are nearly spent trying to buy time for my skill to activate. Their hp (health points) are reaching 35-40% and they haven't even managed to deal

damage to the boss's hp. The warriors are mostly using basic attacks that don't deal enough damage, because they can't reuse their skills fast enough to keep the boss busy.

This is a tough game, my headshot skill was the backup plan, and if this doesn't work, I'll have to try my own back up plan.

[15 minutes remaining.]

[Reminder, If the boss isn't downed within the time limit; the match is lost.]

The warriors won't hold out too much longer against the boss.

"System, generate boss hit stats." said Ryun.

[Boss: Senjin Cadarolf (Beast Type).]

[Senjin Cadarolf has dealt a total of 13,677 damage in this match.]

[Senjin Cadarolf has hit 87 times this match.]

"System. Continuous display. Display boss hit stats." said Ryun.

[Displaying hit stats of Senjin Cadarolf for the rest of the match.]

I don't think we can win the match at this rate, but I need to win this. If I make it big in this game, I can become rich or at least more financially stable. Most players are probably just in for the thrill and excitement, but I do this like my job.

Wait a second, my skill, my skill is activating!

"Shielder! Activate taunt!"

The Shielder beat on his large shield attracting the boss's attention. The boss was two hits away from activating his "Reckless Hunt" passive skill and then blue smoke appeared out of this air. The smoke became so thick we couldn't see the boss anymore.

I could use a skill to see in smoke but I have to fire off this skill first in order to use it.

"RAWRRRR!" the boss screamed. He began running towards the Shielder and I so fast that the ground shook, and large rocks began falling from the mountains.

"Here it comes!" said the Shielder.

Two large katanas raised high were aimed at the Shielder.

"Hurry!" said the Shielder.

Ryun's face was full of anxiety. He knew that he only had one shot. And he needed to kill the boss before the boss hit the Shielder's shield, which would activate the boss's passive.

"Do it no-"

BANG!
