Though the Dust Tribulation Holy Temple maintains the basic social unit of family, the closer one is to Great Skill, the more devout the belief becomes, leaving less room in the heart for other emotions. Ordinary people who only engage in labor can nurture true family affection; whereas nuns and Knights are almost entirely devoted to Great Skill, with children often cared for uniformly by the Holy Temple, nearly severing the parent-child relationship.
