"Young Master it's the time for the awakening, Her Grace wanted me to tell you to get up early because young master will go to the capital."
A young maid with blue eyes and long black hair was in front of the door waking up a teen who looked to be 17 to 18 with a handsome face with black eyes and short black hair.
His name was Zac Darkrea, he lived at the pinacle of life, being a sole heir of the Darkrea house.
Today was his 18th birthday and the day he awakens his GIFT.
GIFTs are powers that awaken from the genes of a person's bloodline, primarily nobility, because each generation of nobles become stronger while the genes of commoners become diluted because the bloodline of the person mix with people with no GIFTs.
Commoners generally have random powers while nobility has a certain type of attribute be it an attribute like Zac's family that possesses the rare dark attribute GIFT.
Zac was not too excited because he knew what it will be the moment he was born -a dark attribute GIFT. He didn't care what rank it would be, he just wanted it to be at least a B rank GIFT and he will be happy. He was not that type of naive kid who think they are the chosen one and could do anything with sheer willpower and hardwork.
After taking a bath and changing, he went to the hall room to meet his parents.
"Father, Mother i will be going to the awakening ceremony." said Zac.
"Why are you so solemn, you should be excited. When i was at your age i was exited and ran around the whole house hahaha."
"Not everyone's a blockhead like you Evans. We should be grateful our son is a calm and mature kid who can think rationally." said Cecilia. "Honey i'm not a blockhead you know, i think rationally and always thinks first..." said Evans. Cecilia glared at him for what seems like years for Evans. "i'm joking I'm joking, but really he should be more active you know, not like you always in your room writing that book of yours you call a 'plan', a plan is a guide before doing something not a 10 volume novel!"
This was Zac's parents, his father was the strongest GIFT user in the world. He was the only EX+ user record in the world.With the GIFT [Dark tool] an S rank GIFT, which could make any tool or equipment be conjured within a 50 meter radius at almost any amount and within the 50 meter radius he could fully control these tools like making them fly.
But the most powerful thing is not because his GIFT because some people also has an S rank GIFT. The thing that made him the most powerful person is his sub GIFT an ability that stems from ones GIFT because of an extreme mastery of their GIFT, a very rare occurrence as people could count with their hands how many has a sub GIFT. Evans' sub GIFT is [One Chance], a unique GIFT that made any weapon he conjured with a one time 30% chance of enchanting this weapon with an attribute of his choice.
His mother, who was a 'cunning fox' as other aristocrats called her, was so calculative and cunning that even the King fears her, because if she wanted to scheme against the king he couldn't even defend his throne for a month, that's how cunning she was, because of that she got the nickname 'The Goddess of Schemes'. She was an S rank GIFT user with a unique GIFT called [Poisonous Finger] an ability that makes her fingers poisonous so any living thing she wants to kill be poisoned with a 100% death certainty. But because her only ability being close range she could be countered pretty easily, so she stuck to scheming.
Zac inherented her mother's intelligence and his father's strength as he could destroy a stone wall at the age of 16, albeit would break his arm.
"Father, Mother please stop bickering." said Zac annoyed by his parents.
"oh, yes the awakening. Well, i wish you good luck. You will only be going with your mother as i have some work to do. I hope you get at least an A rank GIFT but even if you get an F rank we really wouldn't care and still love you as your intelligence already makes up for that, and we could just buy all of the tier 5 upgrade pills in the world." said Evans.
"Evans, why would you say that? do you wish for your son to be an F rank? I know you mean to encourage him but don't jinx it."
After bickering once again Zac and her mother used a Carriage to go to the 'World GIFT Association' or WGA for short. The WGA is a worldwide association to manage and connect GIFT users. The WGA is also a place where people can buy and sell anything related to GIFTs, but mostly awakened beast related things.
Awakened beasts are beast that has awakened elements. People usually sell Awakened beast carcasses from the forest. Awakened beasts carcasses are sold because of two things. The body parts of the beast, and the blood core of the beast.
The body parts can be used for many things, alchemy, forging, potions, and more. The blood core is a spherical object that forms after a beast die, the blood of that beast will gather up and refine that blood to condense a blood core.
Blood cores can be used the same was as the carcass but it also could be used for making upgrade pills.
Upgrade pills is used to upgrade a person's GIFT rank. It has a very small chance of actually upgrading the GIFT. Alot of people can't afford it as it is very expensive. But for the Darkrea family they could buy thousands of the pill.
"Mother, wake up we are here." Zac woke up her mother. They finally arrived at the WGA's awakening center.
As they arrived many of staff at the center were bowing to them as they were walking. Zac who was the center of attention didn't even care nor pay attention to these people.
Usually people get awakened with thousands of other people as to make it a yearly event so guilds or wealthy people could recruit or hire the ones with high potential. But as the Darkrea was almost as important as the Royal family, they didn't need to wait for a few months and did it right on his birthday.
"Your Grace please come this way..." said an old man wearing what seems to be a luxurious robe, do Zac could tell that he was somewhat in a high standing.
When walking Zac could see from a window a very large room with empty seats -which is only used once a year, and a pedestal with an orb that was glowing a bright blue color. Seeing Zac looking at the room the old man started to explain.
"That is the room where the GIFT awakening usually happen, but as i could imagine the young Master's power are too strong and like his Lord, could shatter the awakening stone i will upgrade the stone to a better one so it wouldn't easily shatter."
"I doubt it would hold for even half a minute. Even the best awakening stone could only hold an EX rank GIFT for a minute. So if you could hold that long than this establishment is pretty good." said Cecilia.
"My Lady, does my Lady mean that the young Master would get-" the old man said as Cecilia interrupted. "Yes, I believe he will awaken an EX rank GIFT, the GIFT that hasn't been awakened for a hundred years."
"Th-then I will also believe it."
The old man was shocked. It was already a very huge event if a new S rank GIFT was awakened, but she was saying that an EX rank GIFT -a GIFT that was so rare that a hundred years ago when it awakened, people was targeting the user left right and center.
After that shocking statement they were then led to a small room with a large glowing orb inside it.
"Please touch this orb and imagine your energy to be flowing inside the orb." said the old man.
Zac than did as the man said.
Crack!
Crack!
After doing it he could hear cracking noises.
"Im-Imposible!"
