Instead of backing down, Clyde stepped closer, towering over him as a flash of anger finally broke through his cold expression.
"If you don't want me to lock you up in here, then stop going behind my back!"
His voice came out low and rough. Yet beneath the anger, his eyes were still filled with hurt as they searched Ryley's face, almost as though he could not understand how they had ended up here.
"I told you everything. I never kept anything from you."
He shook his head, his jaw tightening.
"But you..."
For a moment, his voice faltered.
"Do you even know how much it hurt me to see you like this?"
Ryley opened his mouth to argue, but Clyde didn't give him the chance.
"No. I've had enough... enough of watching you hurt yourself and put yourself in danger." His voice rose, the anger finally breaking through. "I won't allow it anymore!"
He stepped back until his shoulders hit the door.
Then, with one swift movement, Clyde raised his arm and unleashed the Supreme Power.
