"Yes." Pedro answered without hesitation. "Call your scientists and tell them the truth—your suspicions regarding this deal. If they are loyal to you, they will help you uncover Miss Starla's true purpose."
He paused only briefly before continuing.
"And if their loyalty runs deeper than mere obedience, they will go one step further. They will pretend to betray you. They will demand an extravagant payment in cash or gold, only to secretly return a share of it to you."
A scenario played out inside Ryley's mind, the trace of anxiety on his face gradually disappeared as it morphed into something else.
"They will willingly relocate to Germany to discover why they were specifically chosen, then report everything back. Once their operation is complete, they need only ask you to pave an escape route. Give them new identities. Make them disappear somewhere no one else can ever find them."
Pedro's voice remained as calm as ever.
