Edward opened his eyes in the white room, surrounded by his mission partners. Even though they left long before him, they returned at the same time. After the Samsara Hall asked, he agreed, and the broadcast of completing a 2-star Perfect Mission spread everywhere. Edward ignored their gazes before returning to his room.
According to his previous plan, he wanted to finish a third low-tier mission before participating in his Promotion Mission. However, time was of the essence, so he decided to accelerate things a little. He summoned the exchange list to prepare to create Silver Doom 3.0. However, before he could start, he received a call from Dr. Frey, his former supervisor from his first mission, who was calling him.
"I didn't expect your call."
"I just finished my mission and desperately wanted someone to talk with, and you're the first one to come to mine," Evie responded. "How about it? Are you in the mood for a drink?"
"Why not?" There are many relaxing areas for reincarnators. As people who put their lives on the line every week, they also partied like there was no tomorrow. So, the wildest of things happened in these areas, including numerous unsavory and disgusting things. Edward and Evie chose a medium bar in one of the UK residential areas as their meeting spot.
By the time Edward arrived, Evie was already waiting. Unlike before, she was not in her lab suit or the military armor from the first mission. Instead, she wore a knee-length black skirt, a blue blouse, and a white sweater. Her hair was not tied up but hung loose on her shoulders. She looked beautiful, smart, and a bit nerdy.
"It looks like your mission was rough," Edward commented when he saw she had already started drinking.
"This damn place sent me to Germany in 1941 as a French Legionnaire. I got shot three times and almost died," Evie said with gritted teeth.
"It sounds like you were lucky and sent to a non-supernatural world."
"If that's considered luck, well, I don't want it." Evie swallowed her drink with one gulp. Luckily, this was a magic bar, so the thing refilled itself.
"How is your daughter?"
A smile was instantly plastered on her face. "She's great. The cure was miraculous. It not only cured her condition, but it also returned her to her peak physical state." The last seven days spent with her daughter were the best time in Evie's life. Sadly, she was now living on borrowed time, meaning she could die at any moment, leaving her daughter an orphan.
"Enough about me. How was your mission? Well, I heard the announcement, so it should have been fine. But I'm curious what happened?"
Edward did not mind explaining what happened, and Evie listened attentively. After the end, she sighed in awe: "I must admit, I'm envious of your capabilities and how fast you're improving. The lowest Wizard Path Potion costs 5000 Points, which will probably take me more than 10 missions to acquire. The worst part is that this thing only has a success rate of 25%. If I'm unlucky and this thing fails…"
"Your approach is wrong."
"What are you talking about?"
"You shouldn't save all your points. Instead, you should use them to become more powerful. The stronger you are, the more likely you will survive, and the easier it will be to make more points."
"But wouldn't choosing a power system now interfere when I become a wizard?"
"Unlikely, but even if they do, the Samsara Hall's power can nullify the contradictions."
"It seems I've been looking at this situation with an erroneous mindset," Evie muttered. "Thank you."
"No problem, and I can offer you more help," Edward said as he slowly pressed his fingers on the table, leaving a dent. "I've created my version of the perfect T-Virus and injected it into myself. If you want, I can make one for you, but you must pay for the materials."
"How many points are we talking about?" Evie immediately asked.
"No points since the materials can be found on our Earth. I'll give you an account, and you need to wire 450,000$ to me."
"No problem. And once again, thank you. If you ever need anything, don't hesitate to ask."
"I will."
They conversed for a few hours before Edward returned to his room. He paid to expand the dimension and created a state-of-the-art laboratory in the basement and made Evie's serum. He sent a bot to give it to her.
Finally, he started his study. The next improvement of the armor is the power source and the inclusion of Jumplink technology. Edward has already mastered the Cold Fusion Core from his clone's previous theory and information from the Whitespike spaceship.
So, his lessons focused on soul manipulation for his Alchemy, and the knowledge required to make it believable that he had miniaturized the jumplink. Additionally, he also needed to lay the groundwork for when he uses Alchemy to create a philosopher's stone and a pocket dimension, just like Father did when he tried to develop his own Gate, but it resulted in the creation of Gluttony instead.
After three days, Silver Doom 3.0 was completed. It included a new power source, teleportation, limited time travel, anti-gravity boots instead of jet boots, a newly created titanium-graphene alloy that made the armor as hard as diamond, but not as brittle due to the titanium, and a few new weapons.
After testing the armor's capabilities, he checked the hall's description of his tier.
[Tier: 4 (A brilliant armor with its own soul created with great mastery of Alchemy and Technology, capable of wiping out an entire nation. It's recommended that the reincarnator fuse with it or turn it into a soul weapon.)]
'That's not a bad recommendation,' Edward thought. He had some ideas on how he would develop the suit, but he wasn't entirely sure, as he wanted to design it to be useful for his true body once this mission was successful. Turning it into a Soul Weapon is a good direction worth exploring.
Once the suit was finished, Edward focused on his Telepathy. He took classes to develop his power, focusing only on how to defend his mind. He even spent points to hire a talented Telepath to train him, which included invading his mind while he defended.
By the fifth day, most of Edward's 50,000 points were used, so he focused on his last task: modifying the whitespikes. He used the T-Virus to improve this alien's ability, including their strengths, energy resistance, toxin resistance, and reproductive capabilities. His new laboratory used alchemy and innovative cloning technology to mass-produce these aliens. As long as Edward had enough biomass, he could continue producing them.e
There is a Weapon Sale Area where reincarnators can present their creation and buyers can choose. Edward was not surprised that others saw the value of the whitespike and had already weaponized it. Of course, his version was one of the best, so someone bought 10,000 points worth of them for weapon testing. The person said he would contact Edward if his product proved effective on the battlefield.
Edward used the points to make 100 Doom Bots and 100 Whitespikes for his Promotion Mission. He also enlarged the size of his extended bag to accommodate all these things. Although he did not know what to expect in this mission, he wanted to be prepared. Finally, Edward returned to Earth.
