Chapter 128 - Chapter 127

Valerius stood at the main entrance of the massive city, watching as thousands of his people streamed through the gates with wide eyes and slack jaws. Wonder and disbelief painted every face.

Their expressions mirrored his own.

How could they not? What had happened shattered his understanding of magic itself. He knew mages were strong—capable of incredible feats. After all, he was one himself. But if someone had told him that a single person could create a massive city, one larger than the former capital of the Ishgar Empire, and do it within an hour...

He would have laughed in their face.

"By the gods," he whispered, his voice barely audible above the excited chatter of his people. "What kind of power is this?"

The architecture was unlike anything he'd ever seen. Massive, towering buildings stretched toward the sky, their sleek surfaces catching the light in ways that made them seem almost alive. The design was foreign—no curves or ornate details like the traditional Ishgarian style. Instead, everything was sharp angles and clean lines, imposing yet somehow welcoming.

Valerius shook his head slowly, still struggling to process it all.

Nevertheless, gratitude swelled in his chest. Deep, overwhelming gratitude to the one person who had made this miracle possible.

Aiden Leonhart.

That man...He didn't just save them. He gave them a future.

And he was right to pledge their loyalty to him—their new king. There was no one else worthy of ruling and leading them. Not even himself anymore.

Valerius's expression turned solemn as the weight of his failures crashed down on him. His hands clenched into tight fists, knuckles white with tension.

He had failed them.

For a thousand years, he had let his people suffer. A thousand years of struggle, of barely surviving, of watching his subjects endure hardships that should never have lasted so long.

No—he shook his head firmly. There was no use regretting anymore. What mattered now was that they had another chance. Another chance to live, to be free.

He would make sure of that.

By his father's name and his father before him, he swore it. He would eliminate those who threatened the safety of their new life. Those who dared threaten his new king.

Never again.

Valerius straightened his shoulders, steel replacing the doubt in his eyes.

His fist tightened once more—not with despair this time, but with unshakeable resolve.

Aiden's POV

The next day.

I found myself seated in the conference room located at the highest building in the city. The massive table could easily fit twenty people, yet somehow it still felt cramped with this particular group.

Jue cleared his throat dramatically. "We have a grave problem.

Andrius leaned forward, instantly alert. "What is it? Are we under attack? Is there a threat to the citizens?"

"We need a name."

I blinked. "...What?"

"A name," Jue repeated seriously. "Not just for the city, but for the kingdom itself."

Complete silence filled the room.

Andrius, in his human form, slowly turned to stare at Jue. "You called an emergency meeting... for that?"

"It's important!" Jue protested.

Leviathan snorted, also in her human form. "I thought someone was trying to kill us."

Irene pinched the bridge of her nose. "Jue, you nearly gave me a heart attack."

Valerius looked genuinely confused. "This... this is the grave problem?"

From the corner, Kira spoke up dryly. "I was ready to fight an army, Jue-sama."

Thane nodded. "Same here."

Vex just shook his head.

"Alright, alright," I said, leaning back in my chair. "Jue is right. We do need a name."

Irene said. "Do you have an idea for a name, Aiden?"

A name... Actually, yeah, I did have an idea. Something that had been floating around in the back of my mind

Avalon.

It made sense, seeing as everyone called me the King of the Fairies. It was fitting, really. The legendary island, the perfect kingdom, a place of magic and wonder where people could live in peace.

"Avalon," I said out loud. "I'm thinking we call it Avalon."

The room went quiet again.

Andrius was the first to speak. "Avalon... that's an interesting choice."

"It has a nice ring to it," Leviathan said, tilting her head. "But what does it mean?"

Irene leaned forward, curious. "Yes, why Avalon specifically? Does it have some significance?"

I paused, realizing they wouldn't know the legend. "Well, in the stories I grew up hearing, Avalon was a legendary island kingdom. A mystical place where King Arthur was taken to heal after his final battle."

"King Arthur?" Valerius asked, genuinely intrigued.

"A legendary king," I explained. "Avalon was supposed to be this perfect realm—a place of magic and wonder where people could live in peace. It represented hope, rebirth, and new beginnings."

Kira's eyes lit up. "That... actually fits perfectly."

"A kingdom of magic and peace," Thane mused. "Where people get a fresh start."

"And it ties into everyone calling you the King of the Fairies," Vex added thoughtfully. "Mythical king, mythical kingdom."

Jue nodded enthusiastically. "It's perfect! We're giving these people exactly that—a new beginning, a place of wonder."

Irene smiled. "I like it. Avalon it is."

"All in favor?" I asked, raising my hand.

Every hand in the room went up without hesitation.

"Well, it's not like you have a choice. I mean, I am the king," I said with a laugh.

That earned me a few chuckles

"Alright then," I continued, getting back to business. "I'd like to take this chance to organize the kingdom and split up the duties." I gestured around the table. "Nothing will change much from what we've already established. Jue, Andrius, and Leviathan will still manage their new territories."

All three nodded in understanding.

"At the same time," I turned to Valerius, "I'm assigning you to manage the north."

Valerius straightened in his chair, a look of determination crossing his face. "It would be my honor, Your Majesty."

"And this city," I gestured toward the windows overlooking our gleaming metropolis, "we'll call it Midgar. Our capital."

"Midgar," Irene repeated, testing the name. "I like it.

"The heart of Avalon," Kira said approvingly.

Jue grinned.

I spent the rest of the morning laying out my plans for the future. The conference room became a hub of activity as I began distributing resources from my inventory.

First came the fabricators—sleek metallic devices that would revolutionize how each territory operated. These weren't just simple manufacturing tools. I had programmed them with extensive databases containing blueprints for modern conveniences that would dramatically improve quality of life. Beyond basic necessities like food, clothing, and building materials, the fabricators could produce refrigerators to preserve food, water purification systems for clean drinking water, and heating and cooling units for comfortable living spaces.

The medical capabilities alone would transform their territories. The fabricators could manufacture modern medical equipment, pharmaceuticals, and even basic surgical instruments. No longer would people suffer from easily treatable conditions or die from lack of proper medical care.

For communication and transportation, the devices could produce everything from simple radios for local communication to vehicles for faster travel between settlements. Street lighting, electrical wiring, and even basic electronics would bring their territories into a new age of convenience and safety.

I gave one fabricator to each territory leader: Jue, Andrius, and Leviathan each received their own, while Valerius got two for the vast northern territory. The goal was to ensure that within months, even the most remote settlements would have access to the same modern amenities available in Midgar.

Next were the energy sources—crystalline cores that pulsed with soft blue light. Each one contained enough power to sustain not just basic territorial needs, but all the modern conveniences the fabricators would produce. Air conditioning, electric lighting, powered medical equipment—everything would have reliable energy.

The real game-changer was ALICE. I pulled the glowing orb from my inventory and activated her. The AI projected herself as a holographic figure with short silver hair and kind eyes. Unlike NIMO, Alice specialized in governance and resource management, but she also came with complete knowledge of how to operate the fabricators and integrate modern technology into traditional societies.

Alice could guide each territory through the transition from medieval living standards to modern convenience. She would teach them how to use new technologies, coordinate the installation of infrastructure, and ensure that the cultural shock of such rapid advancement didn't destabilize their communities.

By the time we finished, everyone had clear directives, the resources to implement them, and a reliable support system in Alice.

The Kingdom of Avalon wouldn't just be a collection of traditional settlements—it would be a modern nation where every citizen enjoyed the benefits of advanced technology and magic.

"Questions?" I asked as the meeting wound down.

Andrius raised his hand. "When do we start?"

I grinned. "You already have. Welcome to the Kingdom of Avalon, everyone."
