After the press conference the event was over and it was deemed to be a resounding success .any questions were answered to the public that day . But no one asked a question about the gods . As if they didn't exist whatsoever .
There was one who asked about the abyss .
Fi ally the Head made a peculiar achievement .
Head :
We've uncovered a syndicate . They drug their victims and leave a black diamond on the scene which is laced with dangerous drugs which Intoxicates people instantly when touched.
So if you find such black diamond do not touch them and contact for help immediately .
With this warning the black diamond also became trending .
As due to more awareness about a pound of black diamond was recovered.
A new taskforce was created specifically to deal with it . Although it was a secret taskforce.
It was discovered that an indirect touch by using tongs or androids to pick it up decreased the effect as compared to touching it directly .
After this ended Lord Phoenix interrogated the coup leaders about the diamonds and were sent for memory extraction .
But none of thembad any idea . Also every opposition leader was given some suggestions overnight .seemingly due to uncertain causes . So even the opposition started to root for the goverment . Out of pressure. While those already allied with had their work now more smooth sailing .
The democracy was going to become a dictatorship . Slowly and steadily. And their rights would still be given but some would be taken away from them .
But that's a story in the future .
Finally the event wrapped up and they enjoyed another perfectly cooked robotic meal at the office of the Head .
Jay was concerned about Mcelroy's whereabouts so he asked the third Head .
Jay :
Is there any response yet ?
Head :
Not yet , there's no response from them .
Phoenix :
Wow Jay that speech was very lousy.
Jay : playing the brother card.
You do speeches everyday right . You should have written one for me , were brothers right .
Phoenix :
Nah it doesn't work on me . And who was the one driving you all week . Even early in the morning to the hospital .
Don't make me count all favours .
Jay silently left the line of conversation.
Head :
To make a strategy against him we need to understand him .
Tell us everything about him .
Jay :
You might call him Lord of the Abyss I call him X .
X is not mysterious he is just someone who wants to torment me and that's why he has trapped me in this world .
I don't know why has he done any of this .
He might be listening to this conversation right now .
Even every single world we utter can be already decided by him .
Even if we talk in cryptic codes he knows their meaning .
If he wants he can alter or end the world with a single thought .
Whatever you strategize is bound to fall in vain .
And when Viva told us about her future . That future might also be fake or never have happened.
That day the rift in Chroma opened up because of him .
Jay :
There is no strategy to be made . Because if we are playing chess . We will be making moves but he owns the chessboard and the pieces.
If he says so then the move is invalid just for us .
Phoenix :
Then he must be bound by some rules right . If I was to myself in his shoes . As how you described him . It does seem undefeatable . But there must be something .
If he is fixated on you . So if I kill you then everything will be all right.
Head :
Then there would be no reason for this world to exist as well . To simply put we exist because he exists .
He dies, we all die. Just like a video game .
Phoenix :
Then that might be the only reason you resist the abyss .
Meanwhile others are drawn to it .
Jay thought of something
Jay :
But there is something peculiar in this world I have seen .
Even if he's the highest form this world doesn't have any cosmic horror element. Like if X can be seen than any dimensional god or monsters or being shouldn't be any problem .
Head :
Throughout your journey, how many times has he been irrational . If this was a novel ?
The Head asked a question to Jay based on which he would lead his line of thought .
Jay :
I guess once or twice . Once the rift and second the wall of abyss .
But he said that the world had become too strong so instead of scaling it down it bought me to the past to countinue the story . And now when I have only one key left . He has lost all sense and started interfering in the story.
Phoenix :
If a God interferes in his own world wouldn't that cause an event that causes all events to collapse all together .
The Head thought for a while and he had inferred to only one decision .
Head :
I can't take a decision . It's totally pointless to stratergize .
Phoenix :
There must be some sort of laws or principles he should be bound by. Like maybe he cannot disrupt the story as he wants . Or the experience he intends to create must make some sort of sense .
Head :
That would include , keeping the world fair or unfair for Jay .
A hero overcomes unfair challenges . And that's what he has been doing all along.
Except this there is no principles . I can think off .
Phoenix:
Gods are already our enemies , why not make them just attack us . That would have been much easier than this farce.
Head :
Even after all this we are reaching nowhere . It is better to shift our sight then . Our second enemy the Gods .
Phoenix :
We have already ran the simulations , have revised the plans many times and now adjusted according to our current situation . Our stratergists have been itching their heads since I have them the order .
According to our statistics , the wall of abyss as it closes the chances of the capital being discovered will significantly increase . And eventually we won't have the space . The underworld taken by the darkness . The heavens by the Gods and the lands by us every side we'll be surrounded by enemies.
Once the war starts we'll start with our predictory actions .
No need to worry on that front.
Head :
Then i have to dismiss our meeting today. Have a good day today both of you .
And with that the meeting ended with no conclusions .
And Jay went back to his dorm. But as he did he saw someone standing in the gates even though it was time for curfew. A blade katana bh her side she waited for someone to come. It was none other than Rena Redcliffe .
Jay casually walked by and as they were acquainted enough
He greeted her with a smile .
Jay :
Hey Rena , you waiting for someone ?
Rena was dejected and depressedly replied ."No" .
Jay :
This is a good day and a day off you should return home and spend some time with your family.
Jay had no idea of her circumstances. So he just commented without thinking since he had decided to do the same when he leaves this world.
But Rena when she heard this she broke down as without her crying tears went down her eyes and she could only see her hands as tears fell through her eyes.
Rena :
It seems that it would be raining soon .
It was raining but in her mind and heart. There was something that was disturbing her.
And Jay who saw that couldn't just let it by and tried to console her . Without much experience in consoling he stayed by her side . Until her tears stopped . But now her face was somewhat swollen due to her crying.
Jay :
Are you okay now ? What was troubling you so much .
Rena was at first hesitant to tell Jay . But Jay pestered her repeatedly and she finally told him .
Rena :
I'm going to be married off soon. Without my knowledge my father had planned my marriage and now i am engaged to him . I am going to married and I don't want to . I want to live my dreams.
Jay :
What about making a complaint to the authorities.
Rena :
It's no use , my father still holds all the power . No one is going to listen to a girl like me . I was going to become matriarch and take this family further . Now when I get married ,I'll have to say goodbye to all those dreams .
Jay was issued the latest holographic phone where a few numbers were saved namely the Head's , Phoenix's and Mcelroy's who was issued the same phone .
Phoenix :
What happened brother , do you need something ?
Jay explained the situation to him .
Phoenix :
Political problems are beyond my scope . Usually Roy takes care of them . Also don't call the Head for such a trivial reason . He'll stressed since our meeting. You'll just get the brunt.
Saying this Phoenix kept the call . And contacting Roy somehow was out of the questions.
Jay thought what should be done for a while minute .
Jay :
It seems we have no choice but to crash your wedding .
