Ning kept his eyes on Forgath for the rest of the evening. The imp mingled with other guests, laughed at their jokes, raised his glass. He acted like nothing had happened.
But Ning noticed the way Forgath's eyes kept darting toward him from time to time, looking for opportunities when he wasn't looking. The man was planning to leave soon.
However, before the fundraiser actually began, he couldn't leave. The fundraiser was there for impoverished children, so the head of the non-profit came to thank them all on the stage. He personally named Forgath and a few other billionaires who were giving away millions for charity.
There were some plays and fun events set up by the children from a local orphanage, as well as a meet and greet where they got to go around and talk to their favorite superheroes.
No one knew Ning, however, so none of them came to talk to him. A few kids did mention how great his suit was, so he was smiling by the end.
