Shrek Academy's curriculum was by no means simple. The available lectures spanned a wide variety of topics. However, there were few assessments of learning. The students were responsible for making sure they thoroughly understood the material on their own and any other assistance required contribution points.
The Academy followed an old saying: the master shows the door, but the student walks through it. Every student of Shrek Academy was a genius, so a teaching style fit for geniuses was necessary.
Most of the students spent their afternoons consolidating their knowledge in the libraries, cultivating, refining their bodies, studying, or practicing their professions. Everyone had their own path, so none of the teachers could tell students how to cultivate. Students could ask a teacher if they had any questions regarding their future choices, but that also cost contribution points.
And it only took a few days for new students to realize the importance of contribution points. Contribution points could buy the very best cultivation resources that Shrek Academy had to offer, but without them, one would get nothing. In the case of the latter, the only thing students could do was earn points or work hard cultivating the old fashioned way. A task that was impossible since everything in Shrek required contribution points. Even clothes.
Plant-type soul masters like Fan Lin could spend their contribution points on entrance to a special cultivation space called the Boundless Forest. This forest was constructed by Shrek Academy, and it was filled with every plant imaginable. It practically pulsed with life. If a plant-type soul master cultivated there, their cultivation speed would double! However, entry came at a steep price. An hour in the Boundless Forest cost five hundred points.Fan Lin cultivated here at least 8 hours a day daily since his Energy Body skill made his cultivation speed nines times faster than outside.
The Academy offered everything its students could ever need... at a cost. Even the selection of spirit items here surpassed that of the auctions in the outside world. However, federal coins were useless in the Academy. Only contribution points were accepted. Every student lacked contribution points. The thought of exchanging points for federal coins seldom cross their minds in their freshmen years.
Amidst the hustle and bustle of student life, everyone trudged forward, one step at a time. They all prayed and worked hard, desperate to not be one of the first students facing expulsion.
Shrek Academy gave the students just as much freedom as it did stress. According to them, this was the only way that one's potential could truly blossom.
Many days has passed since the combat test. Everyone was busy. Fan Lin was more so. He slept less than 5 hours a week for the past weeks, which was nothing praiseworthy since the other students didn't even sleep. He was the leisure one.
But Fan Lin didn't want to get expelled from the Shrek. Despite his measly time in here, his cultivation had skyrocketed. His spirit power had reached 679 and it was still on the rise. His physique has already reached a terrifying level. He could easily brag that he was stronger than Wulin at the moment. His control on spirit energy and soul power has achieved a new level. The Mecha designing's brainstorming hadn't been any helpful to him but his spirit power was still rising at a slow rate.
He was just a speck of a distance away from level 30. He stopped because he wanted to use a new spirit soul for his third spirit ring and he was planning to use a ten thousand year one for it. His physique was fully capable of it.
And the day come, Fan Lin left the Shrek Academy as it was a holiday the next day and he had two whole days to him to absorbed the Spirit soul.
'Just preparations if something like the previous time occurred again.'
On his way to the exit gate, he saw Yuanen Yehui and Tang Wulin talking about their tower attack proposal. Fan Lin recalled what tower attack was. It was the way to get better Spirit Soul by fighting them in the tower. The higher the level you reached, the higher the age of spirit soul you can choose for yourself.
Only the prodigies of Spirit Pagoda can use them and considering Gu Yue, she would have gotten the permission for it for the protagonist group.
''I forgot to give you your compensation. Would now be fine?" Fan Lin got closer to them and asked Yuanen.
When he saw Fan Lin, Wulin's eyes were shining with a weird light. With hope, he asked, " will you go to the.... "
"No. I am going to absorb my spirit soul." Fan Lin replied before Tang Wulin even finished his sentence.
"I haven't even finished it." Tang Wulin grumbled.
"Can I pay you now? Would you like contribution points or Federal coins. Would 10 million contribution points for suffice for now? You can buy everything on your own right?" Fan Lin calmly said. Although his words struck like thunder to both Yuanen and Tang Wulin who just blankly looked at him.
"... Okay, I am leaving. Just notify me later or get it from the administration." Fan Lin looked at the two of them who seem to have frozen and unresponsive and left after saying that.
Just before this, he had refilled his account by 60 Million contribution points because he found out that a a hundred thousand year old spirit soul would cost 30-40 million contribution points to pre-book.
This also meant that his previous statement regarding was actually wrong that no one has 19 million contribution points in the academy. Apparently there were. He himself had it now.
'The shock of the amount must have dulled there brains.'
But before Fan Lin can turn around, Wulin had grabbed his sleeves and Yuanen his collars. They both didn't want him to leave.
"Ye, Yes, you can. Let's go now." Yuanen quickly said but her voice was full of stutters. 10 million contribution points, her brain couldn't even imagine that amount and yet she was being given that. All that. She genuinely and generously thanked Elder Cai in her heart.
"Okay."
Fan Lin looked at the time and then took them to the administration office, proceeded with the transfer in front of viable and legitimate academy bureaucracy and took them picture records of it and saw Elder Cai standing by the side. He gave her a small wave and left behind two beings that had frozen yet again, along with the staff that made sure to remember Fan Lin's face.
Spirit Pagoda Headquarters
Fan Lin went to the reception as usual and asked the receptionist which floor the spirit soul exchange center was.
He went to the lift and pressed the button of the floor that the receptionist told him. The lift reached the spirit soul exchange hall in no time. He went out of the lift. Immediately a staff person came forward to greet him since he was wearing the Shrek Academy's uniform. Yeah, that's definitely the reason.
"Are you here to buy a spirit soul Sir. You can inform me of your requirements and I will help you as much as I can.'
"I want a ten thousand year old Spirit soul for my Blue silver martial soul. The age should not be more than 11500 years."
The staff listened to Fan Lin's simple needs and quickly went to check the available spirit souls. Less than a minute later, he came with a tab in his hand which he passed to Fan Lin and began explaining whatever Fan Lin chose.
" Here are the list of spirit soul that we recommend for your blue silver grass. There are more than 70 spirit souls available according to your requirements Sir. Which would you like to have?"
*One hour later*
Fan Lin had gone through all the spirit souls in the list. All of them were good. He finally decided on Poison wrym spirit soul on the recommendation of the staff as that suited his present condition the best. It was the spirit soul with the most lethal poison, decent speed and good durability. The only shortcomings was that it only provided big damage attacks with higher soul power consumptions but Fan Lin never cared about higher soul power consumption to begin with.
" I choose this Poison wrym spirit soul. Send it to my free room."
He said and paid for the spirit soul. It was cheap and costed 45 million Alliance coins or 28 thousand contribution points. Different rates for different currencies. Fan Lin decided to use his easily gained money and use the alliance credits to get the spirit soul, unaware that it was just 1/8 of the actual price after the discount. He will know this later though.
Fan Lin then went toward his free room in the guidance of the staff. The spirit soul was soon delivered there and the staff left with a smile on his face.
He closed the door, gently took off his upper clothing and sat down with the spirit soul in front of him.
He started absorbing the spirit soul after a quick snap and this time he felt pain. A lot of pain.
It was as if thousands of needles were stabbed at his body repeatedly. His mind was in turmoil, like it was stretched and teared at the same time and he didn't know if this was due to the excessive age of the Spirit Soul or just the effects of the power transfer.
*12 hours later*
Spirit Pagoda. Spirit soul fusion room.
Fan Lin could be seen absorbing his ten thousand year old Spirit soul in the room. He had a hard time trying to calm his mind. His tanned body was drenched in blood and sweat and his body had become thinner.
He suddenly opened his eyes and turned around for no apparent reason. His irises had turned light green.

He succeeded in fusing with the ten thousand year old Spirit Soul and a black spirit ring with hints of green was now floating beside him along with his purple and green spirit rings.
This was a ten thousand year old Spirit ring! And he succeeded!
Both feats were something many not even dared to dream but I have cheats!

A person needed to be in the spirit sea realm( 500 to 4999 spirit power) to absorb a black ring. It was hard for even soul ancestors much less for someone in the soul elder level.
