Chapter 7 - Kalisha Olwen

After signing the letter, Kenley and Eldred stepped out of Gracylia's palace. From where they walked, predictably, they really felt like they were in a vast and beautiful place.

Now they can determine their next move. They have to go around the city to find important information about the Crystal which is their priority. Kairlt said there was a lot of information stored in a public library in the city.

'Book of legends!' something crossed Eldred's mind. "We have to go to the library in this city. Information about Crystal Crytilops is stored in a book somewhere in this city." he said.

"Yes. But we have to take all day to find the book, it's a big city. It's not easy to find it quickly." said Kenley to which Eldred gave a small nod. "Then we must hurry."

The two of them ran out of the forecourt of the Gracylia palace. From a distance, Princess Schayna watched the two people who had disappeared from the far end of the palace entrance there.

The sun, which was now rising, made the people around the city more and more scattered about their activities as usual. Fortunately, there were still some people who accidentally saw an Elfair blood person like Eldred, who had just come out of the palace. They probably already knew that the Elfair they saw seemed to have just signed a special letter due to his presence in the Hamoursh territory. Or even the people there mostly don't care and ignore it. Not like the crazy people in a tavern last night.

Eldred tried to ignore such an atmosphere because today they had to hurry to the city's public library. But unfortunately they are not at all familiar with the atmosphere in this big city. Then without any further thought, Kenley finally decided to take a Vlatsh carriage so that a Vlatsh coachman would take them to their destination.

They didn't go that route. They passed the public road, walking while sweeping the view around. Shortly after they arrived at an unfamiliar-looking crossroads, they found a Vlatsh charioteer stopping in front of an old building. Looks like the coachman just dropped his passenger.

"Uncle, can you take us to the city library?" said Kenley. The coachman nodded, gesturing for the two of them to hurry up and get into the Vlatsh carriage.

From inside the oncoming Vlatsh carriage, Kenley saw people busy preparing for their Harvest Festival event in the city park. However, for those who live near the Gracylia palace, they prepare decorations around the building to welcome the royal family who will later attend the Festival. Because it is no longer a reason that people who come from the royal family are respected by ordinary people like them.

They passed several high-end buildings, especially for nobles such as fine restaurants and opera houses. From there, the boundary wall of the Gracylia kingdom was still visible even though it was blocked by the surrounding buildings.

Vlatsh who was pulling the carriage containing Eldred and Kenley slowed down, as they passed through the crowd. Eldred chuckled softly. He wanted to get to the city library on time.

But finally he saw a large building towering upwards with towers that adorned the building. It was the Vynarra Church. One of the places of worship located in Gracylia. Next to it is a building decorated with neatly arranged bricks. Almost the same as the Vynarra Church, the building has a similar texture and building concept.

"We'll be here," said the coachman from outside. Predictably, the building beside the Vyranna Church, was the city library. After the Vlatsh stopped right in front of the library, the two of them got off the carriage and paid their wages.

After the coachman left, the two of them went to enter the building. Inside, their gazes were captivated by the thousands of books neatly arranged on the shelves. Not thousands, not even millions. There was a large candle light hanging right in the middle of the room. And some oil lamps hung on the edge of the bookshelf, to complement the minimal lighting.

The building consists of two floors whose contents are filled with rows of shelves containing books that are always neatly arranged. Eldred thought how he could find a book of legends about the continent of Magire Kivanal so easily, if he just looked in front of him there were so many books.

Suddenly a girl dressed neatly, approached them. "Excuse me sir, can I help you?" said the man. From his appearance alone, it was predictable that he was a journalist in this city.

"We're looking for a book about the Legend of the Kivanal Magire continent, is that book here?" said Eldred saying something. The girl nodded firmly, then left. Walk through the bookshelf aisle. The two of them followed behind.

Kenley still couldn't blink his eyes looking around him filled with the paper-wrapped notes. It really gave him a headache. He couldn't imagine, seeing Edgar reading a book all day made him feel sick.

"This is it," said the girl as he took a thick book from the shelf. The albino haired girl in a ponytail blew the book she took, because it was covered with dust on it.

"Thank you," said Eldred. The girl nodded and was about to leave, but Kenley tried to stop her. It was as if he had just realized something. "Kalisha? Is that you?" said Kenley trying to guess.

The girl turned around slowly. "You know my name?" the girl asked. Kenley nodded firmly then pulled out a crucifix tucked away from under his shirt. "Kenley?" The girl tried to remember a man standing in front of her who started to smile.

Kenley nodded again. "What?! Hahahaha" The girl named Kalisha then hugged Kenley tightly as she remembered who the figure of the man who called her name was.

Like being struck by memories of the past for Twelve years, it was as if the separation had never happened, even though it did. Kalisha and Kenley are childhood friends who used to play together in the Nylon valley a lot, or even occasionally visit the Azyrra church in the small town of Ortania.

Months ago Kenley had always thought and thought of that girl. But now the hope of meeting him again has come true. And sure enough, the girl was in the capital now, and she was beautiful.

"Are you a journalist?" Kenley asked. Kalisha nodded firmly. "That's right. And this library is my second place after home. Oh yeah, why are you in Gracylia?" Kalisha asked back.

"I'm on an important mission" he said as he turned to Eldred, an Elfair man who was still confused by the situation that had just happened in front of him.

"This Elfair is your friend?" Kalisha asked again, and Kenley replied with a nod. "He's Eldred Carlton," he continued.

Eldred tried to smile at the girl who turned out to be someone Kenley knew. "This is great! How did you two become friends?" said Kalisha amazed. "Long story," Kenley replied simply. Kalisha nodded as if to stop asking her old friend something. But he wanted to have a lot of conversation with her, after thirteen years ago they separated.

The three of them sat in a place not far from where they took the book. The room was a little dark, but luckily the oil lamps hanging on the walls provided enough light to read a book. They are not alone. In a place not far from them, a middle-aged man wearing a black hat was sitting there. Looks like that person has been there a long time.

"Hmm, let's take a look at the book," said Kenley, looking up at the book Eldred was holding. Elfair also put the book on the table. Kalisha, who had just joined in, sat near them, but Eldred didn't care. Anyone knows, Kalisha could be the person he can find information through that girl. Moreover, he is a journalist in this city. Although not a researcher, but Kenley believed.

Eldred opened the book. In the first part, it looks like the Chapter where the Kivanal Magir continent was originally formed. Eldred continues to search for the Chapter that discusses the Crystal Crytilops. But he accidentally stumbled upon a chapter that discusses the destruction of the Elfair and Hamoursh nations after the wars of centuries ago.

In that chapter, discussing the issue of territorial power struggles that have occurred on this continent, therefore wars have occurred. Even Cystal Crytilops has become a legendary object that was fought over by the two nations in ancient times.

Eldred tried to understand every word he digested from the book on the table. "The two nations have experienced a period of crisis due to the war that took place not long ago-" said Eldred quietly a word he underlined with his mind.

Hearing that, Kalisha and Kenley furrowed their brows while focusing their eyes on the neatly printed writing in front of them.

"It must be because of the Legendary Crystal," said Kalisha later. They were both a little surprised.

"Y..You know that legendary thing?!" said Kenley widening his eyes perfectly. Kalisha nodded firmly. "I've also reviewed all the information about the legendary item of the continent Magire Kivanal. Before I finally gave up," he said as he adjusted the position of his transparent glasses.

Kalisha beckoned them both to come a little closer. "That crystal is one of the most sought after by treasure hunters." he said before taking a breath. "The crystal was split into several pieces," he said again.

Kenley was amazed by the knowledge Kalisha had come this far. "And it's the only thing that belongs to the Elfaires," he continued, glaring at Eldred. The Elfair man was still in his gentle cold gaze, thinking about something. "Lord Hardikha also told me this. And it's true if the Crystal is believed by everyone". Kalisha nodded again.

"I know, Why would an Elfair like you come all this way if not for no reason, right?" he said again. Kalisha's gaze couldn't be taken away from a mysterious person sitting not far from her place. That person! He still hasn't left. Kalisha was worried that the person was a thief or even more a 'Treasure Hunter!' yes sort of.

But the girl threw away all her negative thoughts and tried to think, maybe she was just a librarian looking for knowledge in that place. Dressed in all black like that, how could anyone not suspect her.

"I've read this book too," he said again. He took the book from in front of Eldred. Kalisha looks for important chapter parts. "Crytal Crytilops previously belonged to the ancestors of the Elfaires. And Cystals are naturally colored like the colors of nature. And able to control the forces of nature. No wonder so many collectors are after the legendary item. said Kalisha explaining from all what was in that CHAPTER section.

Eldred took out a piece of paper containing the map of the Magir Kivanal continent. Kalisha pinched her chin lightly. He compared the Map on Eldred's paper and also on the back of the book. And it looks the same. "You marked it on the map?" said Kalisha who saw that there were indeed many marks on Eldred's map.

"That's right. By the way is there some kind of special test to get those Crystal pieces?" this time it was Eldred who asked.

Kalisha kicks her forehead. "Gosh! I'm stupid. Hehe" he said, laughing softly. He went back to looking for the chapter that Eldred meant. "Meet!" he said happily. They both turned their attention back to the book. "In this book it has been explained that if there is someone from the Elfair nation who aims to conquer the altars on this continent, then he must recite a spell in the ancient Elfair language" he explained again. "Altar?" Kenley asked.

"But how can this book be in the territory of the Hamoursh nation? It must have been written by an Aithen from the Elfair nation?" Eldred had just drawn a reasonable question. "If there is that thing that turns out to be an important property of the Elves, why did the Elfair elders or lords illegalize this important information? Weren't Humans and Elves hostile to each other?" Eldred added.

"I don't know," Kalisha shrugged. "Maybe I guess because even if there are human races who know about it, it doesn't mean they can get it on their own, right?" Add more. "Humans do not understand the ancient language of the Elfaires even though many researchers have studied this matter more deeply. The data they produce is still confusing. And therefore for the Hamoursh, Crystal Crytilops is just a myth, nothing more" Kalisha explained there's some truth to it.

"Um, you guys just bring this book." said the girl, looking around. He was afraid that someone else would eavesdrop on their conversation, he couldn't turn his concern over to a man sitting quietly not far from where they were.

Because that girl knows what other human traits are like. They are greedy, and that is another trait of the Hamours. It was only natural that the People of the greedy Hamoursh nation would aim for the Crystal which became an important item for the Elfair nation.

"What?" they said almost simultaneously. "It's fine. This will serve as a guide for you to search for that thing. After all, the author of this book is an Aithen who is from the Elfair nation. And this Elfair friend of yours, must understand the ancient Elfair language of this book." The suggestion.

"You will find all the mysteries in the book later, I only know a little about it" he said innocently scratching his head without itching. Kenley smiled at him. Kalisha hadn't seen that smile in a long time.

Eldred turned his face towards the place where the person had been sitting. But ironically, that person is gone. 'Since when?' his mind. "He..." said Eldred. Kalisha and Kenley looked confused.

"That guy. He's a spy!" the girl repeated her words. They just realized that the person had disappeared, who knows when he left.

"Did he hear everything?" Kalisha said getting worried. Kenley rushed towards the entrance of the library, he swept the view around the library before finally arriving at the door. The person was not found. Followed by Eldred, and Kalisha who followed Kenley from behind.

They arrived at the door. Outside it looks deserted because maybe people are busy with their Festival events. Eldred who had sharper vision than humans, narrowed his blue eyes due to the dazzling sunlight. Until a man dressed all in black caught his sight. He went up the Vlatsh and disappeared down the road. "He's gone," he said.

"As I thought. Maybe he'll go to his boss and unpack everything we talked about earlier," said Kenley furiously.

"I think just focus on what you're facing right now. Chasing people like him will only waste time. And if I accidentally find someone who is the same as that person, I will investigate" said Kalisha. "I have to go home," she continued.

"Go home?"

Kalisha nodded, "Kenley, if you have time. Stop by my house for a while. My house is east of the Gracylia palace. It's quite far," said the girl, looking sincerely at the well-built man in front of her whom she hadn't seen in a long time.

"I really can't promise." He said a little stiffly. Even though since they were little there was never any awkwardness between the two at that time. To Kalisha, Kenley is Kenley. Vice versa.

"Okay then. I hope I can chat a lot with you-" Kalisha said smiling then waving at both of them. "Good luck!" she said again.

"Thank you very much!" Kenley said, waving his hand. he remembered a few years back when they first parted in the Nylon Valley. and this happened again, but in a different situation and scene. A different place too.

Kalisha nodded with a smile. She walked away leaving the two of them in front of the building containing thousands of books and disappeared by a bend on the right side of the street.
